    Excellent service and food. This restaurant has a beautiful view of the Black Desert golf course. Every staff member is very welcoming, professional and takes care not of making your dining experience the best. Jonathan was our waiter and excellent service. The bartender Misty was fantastic. We will be back.

    The setting is beautiful. The view of Snow Canyon and the lava field is spectacular and so was sunset on the patio. The service was fantastic. The food was SO delicious. If you like tartare, it was amazing. The brioche served with it was special for sure. The wine list could use a little more diversity given the price point. I was a solo diner, so really couldn’t experience as much of the menu as I would have liked. I actually think the entrees are reasonably priced, while not inexpensive, yet $42 for Diver Scallops is reasonable. I loved seeing the focus on sustainability in regard to their proteins. My only criticism would be watching sprinklers water grass all evening in the middle of the desert when it’s 100 degrees outside and the sun is still out. Staff was very friendly and attentive - refreshingly so.

    As we began our second day at BD resort, we were warned of the limited seating availability due to a 20-guest party and maxed out reservation on a Saturday. So we showed up 15 min before the restaurant opened planning to dine at the bar. Best.Move.Ever. While waiting, we took in the view of the vibrant 19th oasis hole from the comfort of the restaurant’s foyer. Promptly at 5, as we were led to the exquisite bar we were floored by the picturesque view of the red mountains beyond the bottles atop the back of the bar. The specialty cocktails were amazing but the food wasn’t as memorable. Service from hostess Lexie and bartender Missy was top notch and will definitely warrant a revisit hopefully soon.

    We had a lovely dining experience at Basalt, the high-end restaurant at Black Desert Resort. The views are gorgeous; we witnessed a glorious sunset over the mountains. Service was outstanding and our server, Tee, is exceptional. Cocktails are excellent; I enjoyed the Spicy Mango and it was complex and delicious. The watermelon salad was the best I have ever had. The crab cake was excellent, and the filet was cooked perfectly to our party's specification. The mixed vegetable side dish was surprisingly flavorful, and the creamed corn was good, too. Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely visit again.

    Good but not exceptional food and quite expensive. Services excellent. Caesar salad was average, grilled vegetables excellent and scallops well cooked but in a sauce that I wasn’t particularly fond of. Wine list average at best

    The food and setting of this new restaurant in St. George is fantastic. The restaurant is a jewel in the new development. The night we dined at Basalt, unfortunately, involved two tables of guests that demonstrated incredibly inappropriate behavior for a restaurant of this caliber. The restaurant staff did a poor job managing the situation and took far too long before calling security for assistance. Sadly it impacted everyone’s dining experience. The wait staff started off 5 star but lost their attention. Maybe wait for it to be open a bit longer. Sunset view are dynamite though!

    Basalt is a cut above. Ambience and views are stunning. Food is flavourful and imaginative. But the highlight was our server, Tee. She was so caring, knowledgeable, and incredibly funny. For the full, second-to-none experience at Basalt, be sure to request Tee as your expert server.
