   When we arrived for our reservation at 5:30 pm the restaurant was locked and there was, what looked to be a leak, with clean up in progress. No one bothered to call to let us know Baru was closed. The friends I was meeting at Baru had taken ride share, so we walked across the street and went to Browns.

   When we showed up for our Valentine's Dinner reservation the restaurant was closed. We received no advance notice.

   The restaurant does not exist. Maybe take it off Opentable and not accept reservations.

   I was pleasantly surprised and impressed.... food was very tasty and filling, presentation was great, and service was friendly and fast!!! Will definitely go back again.

   The ambiance is very nice, the drinks and wine menu tasty, but the food was very plain, lacked flavour and was below what we expected for the price. The portion sizes were good.

   We tried Baru during Dine out Vancouver. The overall quality was quite disappointing. Food was nothing to write home about. For the money we paid, we expected better quality food and better value. Service was adequate. We won’t be going back.

    The short ribs were too salty and the paella type rice didn’t have enough salt. The croquettes were bland/tasteless. Desserts were good but the dulce de leche sauce was too thick so we couldn’t dip the churros in it
