Wonderful, kind, and accommodating staff. Great presentation on food, but it was overall a bit too sweet for my taste. Charged us for an item we didn’t order. Also it was very loud/ echoey inside, hard to hear conversation. Unfortunately would probably not seek it out again.

We love Barsa so much we've already gone twice in a matter of weeks. The 16th Century Paneer was the highlight of our first trip with the fascinating liquid nitrogen presentation. Our drinks (Boond Boond and Rim Gin) we're incredibly well made and flavorful. I got the lamb, it literally was falling off the bone, it was done so perfectly. My partner got the Chettinad Chicken and the curry was full of spices and character while not being overwhelmingly hot. We finished the night off with the Pannacotta and the hidden gulab jamun was a sweet surprise. One of the best desserts we have had in a very long time. When we came back the second time we had to get it again. Our second trip also comprised of the perfectly creamy Malai Saag Paneer and Malai Kofta, that were full well made paneer in a delightful sweet and spicy curry. Cannot recommend Barsa enough and we will back again soon.

The service and food were excellent. I went with an Indian friend, who guided me away from something that she said was “too American” and recommended that I try the Paneer dish in a cheesy tomato sauce. It was delicious! I appreciated that they gave me the option of three spice levels. I ordered the least spicy, which was so flavorful without having too much heat. I tried my friend’s vegan dish which was also delicious! There were other items on the menu that I look forward to trying, though I may want to have the same dish again. We didn’t order cocktails or dessert, but the selections sounded great. I will definitely go here again, and I highly recommend it!

Wonderful food with elevate presentation. Could taste the freshness and quality. Service was amazing. This could likely be the best Indian restaurant in the Triangle if not all of North Carolina.

Barsa feels like a cozy neighborhood gem that truly cares about its guests. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm for the dishes he described. We started with the Imli Prawns and 16th Century Paneer and each bite was full of fresh, vibrant spices that tasted homemade. For our mains we tried the Baarish Ka Lamb and the Chicken Pilaf. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly and the pilaf had just the right balance of herbs and rice. We ended with the Lychee Sorbet which was light, refreshing and the perfect finish to our meal. The dining room is comfortable and inviting with just enough bustle to feel lively without being overwhelming. You eat, you know its fresh. Kudos to the chef and the team for a wonderful experience. If you’re after honest, thoughtfully prepared Indian food in Durham, Barsa is it. There really is no comparison. We can’t wait to return soon!
