Barroco Arepa Bar Westlake
Christmas dinner w my bestie of almost 30 years!!!!
Reserve table. That was quick and easy. Ordered water and the following: arepa meal, two chicken tacos and rice, and one chicken taco one taco sucio side of rice and black beans. The food took forever to come out. When it came out, the arepa was cold! To top it off, one of the orders was wrong (shrimp taco came out). Had to wait 10 more minutes for my original order to come. Meanwhile we asked for sauces for the arepas and that never came. After the other two individuals finished eating, the tacos came out (what took so long, not sure). The restaurant wasn’t even busy at full capacity. The manager was nice enough to take the arepa off the Bill but, decided this was enough NOT to come back. Servers need to be more attentive and the food needs to faster and be of better quality. Will not recommend this place. Sorry.
Overpriced street food. Decent service.
We went for brunch on Father’s Day. Not very busy, staff was engaging, friendly, efficient. Music playing but noise level was good. Didn’t have to talk/yell over it. Food was delicious, if you are open to trying out some South American fare. Helpings were plenty without being too much. Great for prices. Would definitely come back again and recommend to my friends.
It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was hosting a live Spanish guitar artist. It was quite loud for a small space but definitely added to the upbeat environment.
Had my book club lunch there. Great food. Great service. I wish the fireplace was working and not filled with stuff. It would be a lot cozier and fun in the winter.
Great brunch!
Great food. Good Empanadas. Great guacamole. Friendly server. Loved the ? Plantains with chips and salsa.
The food was tasty. However, the drinks were exceptional. I especially loved my caipirinha cocktail. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone who has not tried it!
Only complaint was the service was less attentive than what I would expected. Ambiance and location was excellent. Food was goo, but didn’t blow me away.
The food was unique fresh and delicious. We are likely to return here.
Loud and not relaxing environment. Service was slow and hair was in food.
The food was really good and the outdoor seating was nice, clean, and had a great atmosphere! Our server was awesome!
Great food, braised beef!!! Was the best
Brunch was amazing and delicious! Easy to get a reservation.
Knowledgeable service with a smile, outstanding drinks (perfectly balanced cocoanut mojito, oh my!) and South American specialities made with care. Delicious. We will be back.
A great restaurant addition to Crocker Park. Unique, fresh food.
What a fun place! The service is good, helpful, friendly. The food was great! The ambiance of the room is fun! The only thing I would change is the chairs. My "caboose" is a size 12 and it was not the most comfortable. That said, it won't keep me away!!
Barocco was so accommodating to our desires to enjoy the ambiance and not be overwhelmed by the live music. We took my future mother and father in law to dinner here and they were so impressed by the delicious arepas, pineapple margaritas, and chicken/cheese dip! There was a guitarist playing awesome tunes too.
Great Mother’s Day brunch.
Had a group of 8, and we all enjoyed our food and drink. We had margaritas, Pina coladas, and mojitos, arrepas, guac, and queso - everyone enjoyed their meal. The only minor issue is the restaurant didn't seem to be ready for our group. I had made a reservation on open table an hour prior, but they seemed surprised by a group of 8.
Food was a bit bland. Drinks took quite a while for a night where it wasn’t busy.
Love the food my fourth time going since it opened so fresh and delicious
We went for brunch for my birthday. We had nine people in our party. Everyone said their meal was amazing and we had a great time! Our server was awesome as well!
Service was excellent and food was good but a little different for my taste ( I'm very finicky). Waitress was awesome and very helpful. Will definitely go back but would not be a regular spot for me as I'm more of a steak and potatoes person.
Food was great, the staff was friendly, and although they were busy they informed us our food may take a little longer and apologized and were very nice!! Great location too! 10/10 recommend
Decent food. Menu doesn't show all ingredients in the dish. They're not kidding when they say don't be in a hurry.
Overall a good experience- wish there was more area to wait for table when busy. Server was a little flustered.
Great food and atmosphere! Loved the Hawaiian arepa!
Service was bad food was warm they forget my forks they didn’t bring my sauce and never explain the different sauces
Great place, awesome food, knowledgeable servers.
Great food
Good family
Wife’s birthday
Kids got mixed drinks
We sampled most of the menu
Great time
Tight table space
This was my first visit here. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious! A few small things like not getting a straw for my water, or salt on my margarita glass like I had asked. Would definitely go back though.
Great meal, great service. Definitely coming back
The waiter was friendly and smiling all the times. We had to wait for our party to come in order to order food and she always coming and asking if we are okay. We told her it was the first time and she explained the menu and special to us since we were not familiar with names.
Overall was good. Tables to close to each other, but was okay overall.
The food at Barroco is awesome!! We frequent the Lakewood location, so we were excited to see a new location coming to Westlake and the food did not disappoint. It is authentic Latin food, that is always prepared fresh. The atmosphere is vibrant, fun, and family friendly. Do your self a favor and try the Chicken Tostones....so good!!
New Years eve
So grateful a local eatery has landed at Crocker Park! I hope you stay in the neighborhood for many years! The food, service, hospitality and atmosphere was spot on!
Considering it was Black Friday and the place had only been open 10 days, you would never know it! Food was great, atmosphere energetic and fun, service/hostess extremely attentive. Glad the bar was enlarged from when it was a wine bar, although it could still be bigger (only about 12 seats and several right in front of the entrance, which is tight). In their defense, it's not a huge building. Anyway, we'll be back soon!
