Pairing with our well-prepared food is a mouthwatering beer and cocktail menu. Besides serving standard Mexican beers, we also offer rotating drafts as well as an extensive tequila menu. Kickstart the evening with our roasted jalapeno blackberry margarita and let the fiesta begin!

Barrio Star features delicious, healthy Mexican fare. Try the Brazil bowl, with steak, fish or tofu, brown rice, kale, black beans, and a delicious coconut sauce!

We tried Barrio Star for the first time. It's truly healthy Mexican which we love. The back room is excellent and our server, Kyle, was exceptional. We will definitely go again.

The food was really good and so was the service. Not kid friendly. The margarita's were great, but pricey. Overall, it was a great experience.

We love going to Barrio Star. It is a regular spot for us. This time, however, it wasn't as fantastic. Service was quite, quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn't really full.

I ordered the chile relleno. I appreciate a chef's twist on ethnic cuisine, but did not like this at all. A chile relleno should be filled with cheese , maybe with a bit of meat, lightly battered with beaten egg whites, pan fried and served with a nice sauce. This version was a plain chile poblano with some cheese and a huge glop of carnitas on top.

I have always enjoyed the tacos. Will go back to ordering those. My husband loves the torta and tortilla soup. The queso fundido was tasty, but should really be served with tortillas, not chips.

Barrio Star is a family favorite for us. We will continue to go. I just didn't enjoy this visit as much as usual.

Overall our experience was great. Our server, Paolo, was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. This place, however, can get pretty loud when fully occupied. So it wouldn't be a great place to have a relaxed conversation. Despite that, I would still recommend this place.

food was good but even at happy hour prices- very expensive. Service was the worst, maybe I have ever experienced in my life!!!!! Those wait staff should consider another line of work!!!!!

Service, food, and fun atmosphere!! Barrio Star has all of the three ingredients for a great restaurant! At first glance, you might get the feel of a hole in the wall to pass up. I'll say, we didn't want to eat inside because it rather dark and it has a smell to it. REALLY needs some scrubbing and brightening up inside!
Once you are greeted by one of their staff, you are in for a treat! They can't do enough for you fast enough.
The menu has variety and the staff knows every item on the menu. My husband said the tacos were the BEST he's ever had! He had the salmon and spicy chicken. I had the beef and spicy chicken. Great flavor! The rice and beans were unique and excellent!
Eat outside and enjoy the passersby and a pleasant neighborhood with little art galleries and boutiques.

Good service, okay food, overpriced for a town full of great, cheaper Mexican food.

Went for Cinco de Mayo, so it was packed. Our server was great even though she was super busy. The place was very loud but it was packed. Get the queso fundito!!! It is amazing. I also got the tamal de pollo which was tasty. I really like this place. Good Marys, too.

We were greeted with a smile and the server told us his favorites. The chips, salsa and guacamole was a great start. The margarita was good and the bloody mary was seasoned perfectly. I had the rosemary potatoes from the brunch menu and my friend had the steak tacos. The tacos were a bit small, like a street taco, but was filling due to the side dish of potatoes and rice. My potato and egg dish was very filling. The food was visually appealing, tasty and fresh. I will be going back to try other items. There is something on the menu for everyone - vegetarians and those with gluten sensitivities.
