Barndiva - The Gallery
Need to book at 9:11 PM?
Our split personality at 237 Center Street is, by now, well known: Art Gallery by day, private party dining and dancing by night. Now we've added yet another personality to the mix in the form of The Gallery Bar, a nod to the drinks and dining environment of a public house, where alongside a curated selection of artisanal spirits we offer classic menus. A throw back to the oddball irrepressibility which first drew us to to open Barndiva over a decade ago.
Studio Barndiva is still very much an art gallery with an eclectic collection of new work.
Wed–Sun 5:30 pm–9:00 pm
We returned to Barndiva Gallery and Bistro because they put their fantastic burger back on the menu. Unfortunately the burger wasn’t even 1/2 as good as it used to be. I ordered medium rare and it came out medium, the meat quality is not as good as it was, the fries which were once delicious are now like bad Mcdonald’s fries. Our friend made the mistake of ordering the “pizza” which should not even be on the menu, it was inedible.....a chunk of bread with a little sauce and cheese. Service was good until they had a large party to deal with, entrees took way too long after 1st course. We had to ask where our entrees were in order to have them delivered. The restaurant was not full and they could not handle the customers that were there.
Cocktails were good, maybe we’ll return for them but they don’t serve the delicious popcorn that they once had anymore. Changes are definitely NOT for the better☹️
This is the place where Barndiva gets rid of their second rate wine, service and atmosphere felt like a poorly executed event space converted to a restaurant. Disappointing. Would not recommend.
I'd recommend Barndiva with caveats. We went on a weekend when they were holding a barbecue (Memorial Day), so the regular menu was replaced with a different a la carte menu and no service (you ordered and paid up front, then food was delivered). I knew this going in, so assumed the menu would be different but the quality would be as good as what I knew about their traditional menu. Wrong. We ordered one of each dish on the menu and they were, at best, just ok. The fried chicken was fatty, the lamb in the lamb shwarma didn't taste like lamb, the Fattoush salad was sad, the falafels were dry. And the portions of all were incredibly small, esp the salad. It was $6 for what amounted to a couple pieces of lettuce, some cucumbers and some stale croutons. So disappointing. I wasn't expecting the regular menu, but I was expecting something a bit more elevated.
This place is great for what is was intended for - events. Everything from the decor to the food is trying too hard and lacking. We love Barn Diva, but will not be back to the Gallery.
Sunday night supper great value and consistently innovative dishes - mushroom risotto was amazing
Sunday night price fixed dinners in Barndiva used to be fun place and well attended by locals. Not any more. Food portions went to extra small and wine corkage went from non existent to highest in Healdsburg. Not going to go back. Sad, another good initiative bites the dust.
Absolutely the worst meal I have ever had! Very overrated and overpriced.
Eclectic, unique ambience. Excellent, personal service. Beautiful outdoor event pace in the rear of the restaurant.
My husband and I went in for prefix Sunday Supper. I have dietary restrictions and the chef created an amazing dairy free meal for me that was every bit as delicious as my husbands . Very impressive wine list and great wait staff. Really enjoyed the old film clips projected on the wall. A must try!
Beautiful wine list and great cocktails. The menu is delicious. The halibut and octopus are out of this world. Chappy is a knowledgeable som.
This place has a set menu of 2 options per course that rotates every Sunday and you can't go wrong with the choices. Amazing food! You are seated in a lounge like setting with sofas and throw pillows, so you can enjoy the comfort of a living room and silent movies while you eat.
Hidden gem more enjoyable than Barndiva for a relaxed dining experience and immersion in heightened, art-infused design.
I would recommend Barndiva, with reservations. We were unable to get a reservation in the main restaurant and so chose to eat in the bar. It was a bit noisy, with groups of people standing very close to our table. At one point I thought a woman, who had a handbag over her shoulder, might swing it and hit our wine glasses! Too close. The food was good, but the menu link they sent to us when we made the reservation was for the menu in the main restaurant and not the bar area. We tried to order off the main menu but were told that was not possible. We had been looking forward to items on the main menu. One of the salads was very good; the other was bland. Prices are pretty high for what you get. I'd be willing to give it another try, but not in the bar.
My Sweetheart took me for my Birthday and we LOVED it!
Sunday Supper was Super! We usually eat at Barndiva next door and wanted to try The Gallery. We are glad that we did because we liked the atmosphere and the service much better. The Sunday Supper was a great deal, only wished we could've ordered the little goat cheese croquets which are our favorite item at Barndiva. The bartender even made us non-alcholic drinks with our favorite ingredients. Watching silent movies on the wall was fun also. Thank you!
The prix fixe dinner was delicious. There were several options we had to choose from. The meatballs on polenta were perfect with a delicious starter salad. As always, Adam at the bar kept us entertained and furthered our cocktail making skills.
Such an amazing experience. We will definitely be back.
The food was delish and the service was great!! Will definitely return.
We wanted to experience Restaurant Week - and the Barndiva was a top choice. The salad was so fresh and light -the polenta creamy and delicious…and the dessert was a unique treat! I love this place!! Such a perfect menu for Restaurant Week. What a wonderful dinner we had - and that’s every time we go to the Barndiva!!
Casual dining experience, delicious food prepared and plated well. Pleasant servers.
Everyone was very friendly and courteous. All questions were answered and appropriate advice given.
We’ve been to The Gallery at Bandiva several times. The menu is changing and is more upscale. Service started very slow but then turned around to good. We ordered olives and they were delivered to the table quickly. Our wine took 20 minutes. Then, our food (delicious) arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. It looked like many were new staff and training seems to be ongoing.
Anniversary and Valentines
We were unaware that this should be a prix fixe dinner or that the cost would be so high. There was nothing on the website to tell us this, or when I made a reservation through Open Table. Great food and drinks.
We've been several times alone and with friends and we will be back soon
From the moment we walked in, our server Jared was Amazing! He was on top of things. Refilled our water constantly and service was impeccable. Ambiance was great and food was terrific. Filet Mignon was like butter and the tiramisu was to die for. What a neighborhood gem!!
Please bring all the original items back. What a waste to go there and be disappointed with the food!
Our waitress was great!
I cannot recommend Barndiva enough! It has been our favorite part of our trip to the wine country. Andrew's cocktails were amazing. He is a true artist when it comes to creative drinks. Everything he made for us was out of this world. We ordered pasta with guanciale which was fantastic! Jared was an excellent waiter and made the experience all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend the goat cheese croquettes which were more like dessert than an appetizer. You can't miss this place!! Put it at the top of your list!
Good food in a nice atmosphere. My dining companion is still raving about the roast chicken breast. I had the meatballs that were very tasty. We split the arugula salad and artichoke starters. Nice wine list and good cocktails. We went on a Sunday night so service was slow due to their Sunday Supper event. Once that was over service improved.
We had a very nice evening. The place is nicely decorated with interesting collectibles and art. We liked the cartoons and old movies projected on the wall. Our food and drinks were delicious, well seasoned, and creative. Definitely can recommend the duck which was well prepared with an interesting twist. Good side dishes, very polite and friendly staff.
Such a unique venue! Great experience
was a wonderful place to celebrate some Christmas cheer!
Amazing food, atmosphere and artwork. They know how to match the right drink too.
We really enjoyed our Sunday evening prix fixe menu. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was very cozy and relaxed. Great service and a completely unique vibe.
Great food ... great decor
This restaurant is very unique in that it is a combination of a restaurant and a small gallery. The ambience is very nice. The noise level is quite low as the tables are well spaced out. The items on the menu were quite good as our party tried each of the offerings. One point to be aware of is that they offer only two choices for each of the three servings.
The overall evening was outstanding and all of us will undoubtedly return for other dinners.
Sunday supper was a really wonderful value and service was great. Only suggestion is to have slightly more comfortable seating arrangements, but I get that it's supposed to be eclectic and a gallery style experience.
Everything was really good here, I'm looking forward to another visit. Drinks are wonderful, the menu has everything to cover everyone's food preferences, the duck was amazing! Dishes are big enough to share and still feel full, so don't over do it, leave some room for deserts.
Phenomenal ambiance with local art showcased throughout. Food preparation is creative yet menu is familiar enough. Superb drink menu, definitely take the server suggestions. We came on Movie night, delicious popcorn was served upon our arrival and black and white movies were playing in the background. The only downer was the small bustling restaurant seemed slightly understaffed as towards the end we were waiting awhile for our check.
