About barmini by José Andrés
Cocktails have always been a passion of chef José Andrés. It started over 15 years ago when he created the Salt Air Margarita at Café Atlántico. Today, José pays homage to the golden era of cocktails at barmini by José Andrés, a hub of chef-driven libations that serves as his cocktail lab for all of his restaurants and projects. A pioneer in avant-garde cooking, José's passion is on display at barmini as guests are taken on a whimsical journey of yesteryear via classic cocktails and ingredients. Barmini operates as a true extension of minibar, a learning center where chefs and bartenders collaborate and where heritage meets innovation.

barmini by José Andrés Ratings and Reviews
First visit a year ago was to barmini along with the chef's table at minibar. Both were just a dream of delicious innovative food and beverage creations. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Over the top wonderful. Impeccably warm service.
Cannot say the same for our return to barmini to share the cocktail experience with friends from Texas. Yes, still amazing libation chemistry and art .... but this time, we felt locked into our 2 hour slot, very controlled, the servers every move was supervised by a woman on the floor to make sure the tight schedule was kept, and our server sounded very rehearsed. Well versed yes. Engaged, NO. It was a good experience for our friends but the overall experience was no where near the same. Take a ticket, have your ride, exit to your right.....and don't linger.
Barmini is a gem tucked away and hidden in plain sight. It was interesting that we didn't know if a specific person was assigned to our table. It seemed any of the staff could come over to assist. If you do want to do the flight and try 6 drinks the whole party must commit to buying flights. I wish I had known this in advance so I could have informed my guests that I wanted to do the flight. I went to celebrate my birthday with girlfriends and it was a great atmosphere. Make sure you make your reservation in advance. No walk-ins.
I had friends visiting from out of town and decided to visit barmini for the first time. I have heard many great things about this place including the bright ambiance and eclectic decor. Booking was relatively easy. I found it strange that I could not book a party of 6, but I was able to book a separate party of 4 and 2. Either way, my group of friends were able to sit together. The cocktail menu has so many options to choose from and the waiter was very helpful with recommendations. I ended up having two cocktails although I was buzzed after the first one. I don't know how it would be possible to get through the flight of 6 drinks for $65! Especially when sharing is not allowed (every person at the table must purchase the flight). I also tried two of the bites: grilled cheese and Philly pretzel. These are indeed SMALL bites but very delicious! I knew upfront that barmini wasn't a place to go if you were hungry. Luckily, I had dinner beforehand. Overall, my friends and I loved the experience and we plan to return in a couple months for a "going away" outing.
We arrived for our 8pm reservation and were seated at the bar. The atmosphere and the drinks themselves were fantastic. We ordered the flight ($65pp) and four liquid olives ($1.5 each). Our bartender was great but it was hard to hear him and understand the drinks because he spoke quietly and the place was noisy. The drinks themselves were very interesting and incorporated a variety of techniques (smoke, freezing, foam, etc.)
That being said, we would not come back here because the pacing of each of the courses was so terrible. It took us close to 40 minutes to receive our second drink because our bartender was busy making drinks for those seated away from the bar. That was fine, but toward the end of the two hour experience, waits for drinks even though we were ready resulted in us at one point having three drinks in front of each of us as well as the check. We understand that each reservation is 2h, but issues resulting from the bar's staffing should not result in customers being rushed out of the door, particularly when they are dropping a pretty penny for the experience.
Hidden away behind what looks like an office, very quirky. The service was great and it's a very intimate, small space so it's great for catching up with friends as you aren't a talking over the people next to you, plus the seating is arranged to give everyone enough privacy.
The cocktail menu is outstanding, not only vast but original.
Great selection of craft cocktails! I would describe the cocktails of barmini as precise, curated, and elegant. barmini is really more of an Experience than a cocktail bar. In addition to being a consummate pro, our bartender was really friendly and clearly loves his job. A bit too fancy for everyday drinks, in my opinion, but great for a special occasion.
Great experience. Very tasty, creative cocktails with impressive presentations.
We were in town for nephew's college graduation and we ended the evening there.
We got the option where you would taste 6 different homespun cocktails.
Would suggest everyone get this option for your first time at Barmini.
Couple years ago it was cool bar with perfect drinks and service, but this time we didn't go get much - service was not very informative, no new items on menu. I was trying to explain what kind of drinks I like a long as sweetness, spices etc. Waitress made suggestion - and result was awful. Next time ordered from the menu and got better result. Only good things you can expect - the vibe and design. It looks like it as abandoned by Jose Andres.
We did the cocktail tasting menu, and it was such a unique experience in texture, techniques, and flavors. And we cannot say enough good things about the grilled cheese and waffles (we did the flight), which were absolutely delicious. Pricey, but an awesome experience.
