By far our favorite restaurant, and becoming the only restaurant we go to if we can get a reservation. The food, wine, atmosphere and quality of service are unsurpassed on the Eastside. Every attention to detail is made.

Really disappointed in the service at this visit. Remember ed great food & exceptional dining experience/service/food from our last visit....This time, service about what you would expect at at a family diner, like Red Robin....let drinks run out, forgot to add, waiting, poor explanation of extras...Always felt we were ‘asking ‘ for next thing....which is NOT why we we would choose what we thought was such a nice place.....had recommended to sooo many people, hope they were not as let down as we were... :(

Service was excellent if perhaps too rushed. Food was generally good. Wife’s sirloin (tasting menu) was very grisly...certainly not a “prime” cut. Restaurant very noisy. Seating tight. Overall, disappointed. Definitely not worth what we paid. Have had dinner at the Herb Farm next door...much, much better!!!

Will not return!

Had the 4 course tasting, the tapas and sherry, and a couple cocktails. Everything was delicious. Great wine selection available for pairing, and the staff were friendly AND efficient (my personal favorite combination when dining). I will definitely be back.

My wife an I ate here for our anniversary. We made a reservation for 7:15, but weren't seated until almost 7:45 with little explanation or apology for the wait. The food was fine (the octopus was probably the best) but I didn't feel like it offered very good value for the cost. I didn't care for the ambiance, but maybe it was just not my thing. I expected a bit more for a place that has a good reputation around town, and especially for the price.

Just a bad dinner - Brussels sprouts came out twice so undercooked you couldn’t get a fork in them, pork chop so chewy it couldn’t be swallowed. I hadn’t been to The Barking Frog in 7-8 years and used to rated as one of the top 5 restaurants in the Seattle Area. Not true any more! And $4 a slice to cut a birthday cake we brought in!? Ridiculous!

Nice ambiance but food was not well prepared nor tasted special. We had the tasting menu after the waiter strongly recommended against the seattle restaurant week-menu. "We have to do it, but it is not something we're proud of". The tasting had great ingredients, but many gave bland taste - few stood out. The meat (duck, beef) was really well-done whereas we asked for medium. The fish was cold. We did not finish many tastings as a result. Overall they failed to live up to the expectation.

Overall the place was a good experience the service was really friendly the ambience was really nice and the setting was nice as well but the food.... it was on the smaller portion size compared to other SWR places that we went to. (All 4 us agreed) for starters we had the squash soup and red beets steak the soup was delicious the beet steak was more on the salty sid. For entrees I had the oxtail there wasn't very much oxtail meat to eat. I guess it doesn't have much meat to start off with anyway it's all bones and my friend he had the arctic cod which was very tasteful and delicious and for dessert we had chocolate cake and the Apple crisp with ice cream.....that was just alright. Like I said it was a good experience but I think I still like other restaurants in downtown Seattle much more for SWR.

Visited as part of restaurant week, great way to sample offerings at a really reasonable price. Appreciate that the restaurant participated. My husband made our reservation for 7:00. Uh oh, that was AM as the restaurant is open for breakfast. Staff worked hard to seat us at 7:00 PM which was when we arrived. Food was delicious, wine pairings lovely. Would return for full price

The food and service were great, lovely atmosphere! The one recommendation I have is to try and do something about the entry doors, they let in so much cold air. Overall great experience.

A friend and I went for restaurant week. She had the prawns, I had the kale salad and we both had the butternut squash ravioli. The food was very good, although halfway through my salad, I saw a live spider crawling across my salad plate. I told the waitress and she did replace the salad, but she did not offer any other compensation. It was a bit disturbing.

We came because of prior great meals, the location to another event we were attending and the dinner promotion. When the server asked if we would like bread service I was a bit confused since bread is usually part of the meal but then thought he was asking to make sure we could eat the food. I didn't realize it was an extra charge. I do not like this kind of surprise on my dinner bill for something that usually is part of a restaurant meal.

Originally visited for Seattle Restaurant Week (Oct 2017). Came to find out they don't offer during lunch. I was surprised, just like many other patrons who visited during my stay. I think better information should written during the reservations so that others don't make the same mistake like me and other people did. Barking Frog would be more busier if people stayed when they found out Lunch isn't offered during the promotion period. I saw many empty tables during my lunch.

Barking Frog had a classic menu with everything one would expect from a $$$$ restaurant: a wide variety of high-end Pacific Northwest proteins, seasonal vegetables; classical preparations with good presentation in an intimate, relaxed setting with knowledgeable servers. Our meal, well, 75% of it, was properly seasoned and balanced - two of our eight tasting menu dishes were outstanding. But our amuse bouche was highly over-salted, as was our soup, while a vegetable appetizer was bland. None of the dishes were especially creative. This was a solid but safe meal with some unfortunate but not offensive miscues.

The ambiance and service was very good. The food was adaquate. We went for the Restaurant Week. The appetizers were fine. The main dish, oxtail, was fatty. There was only one dish that wasn't seafood. The dessert was very small and adaquate. Not terrific.

The food was mediocre, but the service was good.
The salad was 3 pieces of lettuce leaves, 2 slices of prosciutto and a few pieces of candied walnut.
The entree (char/fish) was good.
I was expecting more from this fancy restaurant. I think they are over rated.
