I had a leisurely lunch before heading home from vacation. This is a great place to try a pour of a bottle you might not have in your collection. I opted for the club sandwich with a side of smoked mac & cheese. I would order both again without hesitation. I highly recommend the slushie. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was great for people watching.
The dining experience was a let down after such a great distillery tour/tasting experience. There were 2 for our dining experience, we waited 53 minutes for our food to be served, which was a club sandwich and fried chicken.
Excellent friendly staff service was prompt and courteous. Very casual ambiance with an open airy environment. Excellent job everyone!
Dinner reservation. The facility is top notch. Very clean and modern. Servers and hostess were very nice.
We had the poutine for an appetizer. Too greasy for my tastes. The fries were good and the cheese was also good. Too much heavy gravy.
Both had the fried chicken for entree. Worst fried chicken I have had in a long time. The batter the chicken was prepared with was heavy and not flavorful at all. It was battered and them put in a deep fryer. Not like your mamma's fried chicken. The green beans were good. The mashed potatoes had a pile of gravy in the center that ruined any possibility of the potatoes being good. Disappointed.
Reese (our waiter) was very accommodating when we had to run out to make it to a distillery tour. The food was absolutely delicious!
It is not mentioned on the website, nor did they mention it when we called to reserve outside specifically, but the “outdoor seating“ is in the middle of a construction site. They seem to still be constructing this building? So we ate in the middle of drilling, yelling, hammering, dust, and loud music from the construction crew. The food itself was very average and underseasoned. We actually saw some employees go and get fast food to eat from elsewhere and then come back with it, which is never a good sign. Sorry, but would not recommend.
Another great time at BBCK&B! This was a business meeting and the food and service could not have been better. The staff, starting with Thad Mattingly at the top down to the server at our table, could not have been better. Gave us everything we needed, nothing we didn't. This place continues to be the best restaurant in central Ky.
We really enjoyed our meal at Bardstown Bourbon Co Kitchen.
The sangria bourbon slushy was beyond delicious and the Manhattan was SO good. We loved the poutine and the burger…those fries/chips were the best ever. Our waiter/server was so kind. He was very friendly and really made us feel at home & welcome.
We’ll be back for sure.
This is a terrific restaurant. Great food, great service, awesome drinks, and a huge bourbon selection!
I have had dinner here in the past and the food was excellent! I decided to go back for brunch. Food was just ok, I ordered shrimp and grits, and found it to be mediocre. My friend ordered the frittata and it was not the best. Another friend was pleased with the eggs Benedict, and my partner loved the club sandwich and the chips. All of our drinks were excellent, and the ambiance is lovely! Would go definitely go back, but would be more careful about what I order, because I will absolutely need to continue to explore the cocktail menu further.
Service was slow, but I don’t believe it was the fault of our server as we were told that there were several large groups that came in before us.
Menu selection was sparse compared to prior visits. I had the house salad which was awful but I will admit it looked pretty with just the various leafy ingredients and few cucumber slices. I believe this is the first salad that I never finished. The vinegretee dressing was to sweet and did not pair well with the bitter lettuce.
I had the salmon which wasn’t bad with the corn and three pieces of asparagus. My wife had the steak filet. We have always enjoyed the steak here, even at its higher price. But this was not the case. The steak made for a good roast but not a steak. It had no flavor and was very disappointing.
Before dinner we had a dish of Brussel sprouts that were cooked and looked great but the Brussel sprouts were of the large variety that have no taste and very hard to chew.
The atmosphere was pleasant but would have enjoyed the older tables that were used in the past.
We have always enjoyed coming here but for $140 for two I was embarrassed that I had invited five other friends to join us for dinner.
It will be a long time before we try this again. I use to recommend this place to friends that would come to town and visit but will not do that again until the menu improves.
Great presentation and drinks. Hostess and bar service could improve. Communication up front also needs improved. Chicken was dry and waffles were soggy from where chicken sat. Shrimp wasn’t seasoned and the sauce on the grits wasn’t red eye gravy. Ambience was nice, but some small errors, like keeping food bins out covered in cellophane all over a prep area for customers to see, is just in poor taste. Overall some good things and some poor, but most likely won’t be back.
Had a great time as always, great food and an even better server
Absolutely amazing! Our waiter was an older gentleman, William or Will I believe, and he went above and beyond to make our anniversary lunch wonderful. He was very attentive, humorous, sweet and helpful! I recommend anyone who is visiting Kentucky to go to Bardstown specifically and have a special lunch/brunch or even dinner at Bardstown Bourbon company. Cannot recommend this place enough! 10/10 fantastic!
Love this place and have been there many times. Food is not as good as when Chef Castro was in charge. Menu has changed- not for the better in my opinion. Miss the cornbread but smoked Mac and cheese great dish and addition!
The meal was fabulous! It was the best salmon I have ever had!! It was a great way to celebrate turning 50!
Our first trip back here post-covid did not disappoint! Food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent as usual.
We made reservations to eat and arrived early to a restaurant not at capacity...yet were directed to wait. No covid nonsense We, they just wouldn't seat us. We sat at the bar; the drinks were good but we watched the empty tables for 90 minutes before being seated. Poor management or a clever ploy to sell drinks...either way, it made us late for our next reservations and the food was not great. I had a chicken sandwich made with a very tough piece of chicken, you know, like it was not completely thawed when cooked. Spouse was soused from sitting at a bar that long which did not make for a fun time for me...proprietors really need to tune that experience.
Beautiful restaurant. The Julep was the best drink. The food and service was excellent!
It’s a special place!
Food was excellent. We had lunch after one of the tours at Bardstown Bourbon. I thought the food was a cut above. The Brussels sprouts were awesome. Sandwich high quality and the bacon was outstanding. Highly recommend eating here.
I made reservations 2-3 months in advance in celebration of my husband’s 70th birthday. We loved our bourbon tour and tasting that preceded dinner. Your kitchen was off tonight. We loved the poutine, Brussels sprouts and charcuterie appetizers. We had 6 entrees. The egg was left off one burger. The other 2 burgers were ordered medium and were served well done and bland. Mac and cheese was great. The steak was great. The shrimp and grits were bland with no spice. I had to wait 15 minutes for my bland shrimp and grits after everyone else was served. I sent them back after finally receiving them they were so blah and I never do that. How that dish is your most popular is a mystery to me. We ordered 3 flights. One Bellmeade glass had a big chunk of something nasty in it stuck to the inside of the glass. We sent it back for a replacement. Overall, the meal was a disappointment.
Food was good, restaurant was lovely, but service was slow.
It was good for the most part. Best old fashioned I’ve ever had but also the worst shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. The fried chicken my wife got was awesome. They don’t let you adjust your order at all and you can’t even order basic cocktails that most bars would make (Long Island, bahama mama, etc). Overall a cool place but I was surprised at how bland the shrimp and grits were
Had a nice time for lunch. Nice range of items on the menu. Was a little surprised everyone had to walk through the restaurant to get to the tours and gift shop. Food was good and hot and fresh.
