Outstanding food, great service, a bit on the pricey side. But this place is LOUD. We were a table of 4, and we were literally shouting at each other at the table and still could barely hear ourselves. It's a shame, because everything else was great. But we won't be back, because we couldn't hold any sort of conversation and left with our ears ringing. This place needs professional sound dampening.

The food was delicious. You can taste the flavors in each dish and appreciate the level of detail that goes into it. Atmosphere is a bit loud and tables are very close in proximity. The only dish we didn't care for too much was the tiramisu. Go with the deconstructed cannoli instead :)

Great experience at Barbusa! Suggested to me by someone so my best friend and I went there after a concert at Copley symphony Hall. I had the granchio (w/pieces of northern crab) pasta dish, and it was delicious! Tried my friend's squid ink with pieces of lobster truffle oil pasta dish and it was also superb! The lambchop lollipops we shared for appetizers were fantastic and perfectly cooked! The little bread thing you get on the house when you sit down is nothing to rave about, that's fairly mediocre. Both of our cocktails (negroni and aperol Spritz) and wines (an Italian red and a Chilean red) were very nice. The ambience was lovely, cool, and pleasant. Definitely worth going to! The food is what really makes it worth it; looking forward to going back to try more of what's on the menu to see if it's consistently fantastic across the board.

Great service, outstanding food. Waiter gave great wine selection. Did have to wait until whole party was there to sit but was 10 minutes and then took 5 minutes to be seated once everyone was there.

Our server was great and made solid recommendations. The food was good, but honestly feel like it was a bit overhyped. Vast discrepancy in portion size across 4 different pasta dishes. Pasta was a bit undercooked. Cool atmosphere, great wine, would try it again but wouldn’t rush back.

The pasta was good but the sauces are lacking in flavor. My bone marrow was over cooked and came out gritty. My girlfriends carbonara was decent but needed something to bring the sauce to life. Drink selection is great and the atmosphere is lively. Service was good too.

We had the grilled romaine salad, spicy shrimp appetizer (shrimp fuoco), bone marrow and sausage cavatelli and chocolate ganache cake for dessert. Everything was truly delicious! Cannot wait to go back.

Considering how many great restaurants are in Little Italy, I would not return here. My friend and I shared, and the food was just OK - our salmon was a bit overcooked and our mushroom/creamy pasta needed some zing - we added black pepper to it. The focaccia bread we got to start was yummy and so was the wine.

We had servers come by and try to take our plates at least 3 times before we were done eating, like they really wanted us out of there.

Best restaurant in Little Italy! The food was great. Our server Michael was a true professional. I'd recommend this restaurant for almost any occasion. I'm definitely going back.

They have great food. Except the complimentary dessert they brought for my birthday was kinda tasteless. And the waiter seemed to be in a rush to get done with us.
I would definitely recommend their pistachio pesto

We ate at Barbusa and enjoyed every bite! Delicious food and energetic atmosphere. I made this reservation to celebrate my mom’s 65th birthday in style. I had indicated in the reservation that we were there for her birthday. We saw waiters bring birthday desserts with sparklers to other tables. My mom was excited for when hers would come out. Unfortunately, it never did, but the check did. I would return again many times over, but I was a bit disappointed to see that my mom didn’t get her sparkler laden dessert.

Food was mediocre, service was fair, had a bad table by the kitchen although we were told we were getting a "wonderful table". Don't like the pizza dough they give you as bread, would prefer some nice garlic bread.

The food was tasty but service was spotty. There was a waiter who wasn't assigned to us that was helpful, but bussers (sp?) walked by and didn't bother refilling water or picking up empties quickly. The main issue was the noise. I literally could not catch every other word from our guest who was sitting directly opposite me. As I said, the food was very good -- no complaints. But it was not a good place for conversation.

Went for a birthday celebration with a party of 6. Food and service were very good but have to say our table placement was terrible. First of all, our table seemed quite small for our size party. Worst of all it was right in the middle of traffic where servers and customers would brush up against our chairs constantly every 30 seconds. Really quite annoying.

The food here was nothing exceptional, and I was so disappointed. Our frittura was soft instead of crunchy and it seemed the oil was either tool cold, or the food was left too long before being served.

My osso buco was too salty, the vegetables overcooked. My friend's bolognese looked soupy, and the deconstructed cannoli was unimpressive, and again the crust was soft instead of crunchy.

Was really hopeful, and then disappointed.

The Allegro cocktail, however, was delicious

Barbusa was great! Food is definitely authentic. The flavors of each dish seemed to coincide with one another. Everything was on point...except the fact that it was my mom's birthday but no one acknowledged it. I thought she would have gotten a special treat of some sort or even a greeting but nothing. From anyone...not sure if this was Open Table or Barbusa's fault.

Loved the service and personal touches from “family members” at the restaurant... crowds seemed engaged and happy and the atmosphere was great. For us though- having to lean in and scream at each other for two hours seems a bit rough.... makes us think twice about returning. Food was good but service made it taste better!
I wish there was some way to lower the noise... if so, we’d be here every 10 days or so... good job!
