    Being from New Jersey and living near NYC, we sometimes are hesitant to order Italian from any other area. However, Barbusa took us by surprise in the BEST way! Instead of ordering an appetizer, my boyfriend and I decided to split three entrees. The pesto gnocchi is a MUST ORDER. It was so light and fluffy with the pesto not being overly salty. The chicken parm has a great crisp to the cutlet. The carbonara was very creamy! When it seemed to be a little busy or a longer wait in their regard, our server always came over to check in on us. Amazing service. Definitely make a reservation for this place. We had a 5:45 reservation for a Saturday.

    Food was amazing!!! My group of three enjoyed the Biotle salad, calamari, Carbonara and the spicy pizza. We felt rushed by our server and our cocktails were too sweet but other than that it was a good experience.

    Barbusa delivered an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we sat down, everything impressed us—especially the food. The French bread served with the meatball appetizer was absolutely out of this world—perfectly crusty on the outside and soft inside, soaking up the rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken Parmesan was also a standout, especially the cheese—melty, rich, and packed with flavor. If I had one suggestion, the gnocchi could’ve been swapped for standard spaghetti noodles but that’s just a personal preference. All in all, Barbusa hits the mark in every category. Great ambiance, friendly service, and most importantly, outstanding food. Highly recommend dining here if you’re in San Diego!

    I love the atmosphere the drinks and the service but I had the salmon over the sweet potatoes and my daughter had the crab pasta not much of a taste. It needs to have more flavors to it, but we did enjoy our experience otherwise.

    The only negative is the hostesses. We had to stand on the sidewalk for 20 min to have our table set. Table was empty for our party of 12 but just not set. Hostesses told us couple of minutes but they didn’t get us until after 20 min we went and asked for the table. Our server was amazing and we had one of the best servers for a large party. Another downside is when table runners bring the food and keep screaming to see whose food they were holding. This should be done in more professional ways.
