   We had an excellent meal at Barbarella, although I have to say both pastas we ordered were bland and certainly not worth the price. Both plates were all beige, the small amount of meat in each was silly, and neither sauce tasted as exciting as the descriptions. The pizza was spectacular - excellent crust and high quality toppings. The tomato spread appetizer was so good we ordered a second one, and the calamari was light and fresh. Also the broccoli was so good, the hint of sweetness from the dates mixed with the bitter char and salty parmesan was a great combination. We will definitely be back, but we will skip the pasta course next time.

   I don’t write negative reviews but this time I was very disappointed with the hostesses and the way Barbarella treat reservations! I made reservation three days in advance but as it turned out reservations are not treated with a priority. We were seated on the second floor staring at a big screen which hurt our eyes. When I asked the hostess why they put us there, she said that they were very busy now with walk-ins and that the main floor was reserved for them. If we wanted to be there we should have requested it at the time of the reservation. Well, Barbarella, common sense is that reservations should be treated with a priority over walk-ins. However, it seems that common sense is « by request only ». I didn’t request to stare at a hockey game all night either, but I was forced to. If I wanted to watch sports on my Saturday night, I would have stayed at home or go to a sports bar. I chose Barbarella over the many other places in Calgary and took the time to make a reservation which many others didn’t but I did not receive the treatment that I deserve. It is very unlikely to recommend or visit this place again.

   Service and drinks were great but we found the food to be a bit disappointing. The price and the value don't quite match up for us and everything seemed to be a bit bland. Can't say we would come back here again unfortunately unless it was just for a drink on the patio.

   Went for a Happy Hour bottle of wine prior to our dinner reservation. Great selection of wines, servers were fun and friendly. Fun atmosphere

    Once again, our experience at Barbarella was memorable, delicious and fun! From Bree, the GM, who helped with our food and drinks to Paige and Seamus who took care of us from start to finish.
