About
Came for brunch on a quiet Sunday afternoon and had a nice time!
Cheeseburger and Cesar salad were both delicious.
Very busy place, the bartender, waiter (Steve I believe) and the manager were all so nice and accommodating even with how overwhelmed with customers they were. So attentive. Great Job!!
This has always been our “go to” for special occasions. The staff at the front desk was super nice and let me show the girls the ballroom where my wedding reception was. They were above and beyond friendly & helpful. Lunch was just ok. Not what we are used to having there...maybe it is b/c of the pandemic? Maybe new management? Not sure.
Wonderful dinner and the service was great! It is always on our preferred list.
Ate brunch on the patio. Very nice
I know we’re on limited options, but I expected better from Mills house. And staff took a while to acknowledge us. We ate at the Bar at the Bennett instead.
It was good. Menu needs some work and it wasn’t quite what I was expecting but it was nice. Service was very good. Food was average for this market. Value was decent for the market. Overall I enjoyed it.
This is the worst dining experience I've ever had. I'm a resident of Charleston, and have dined in many its great restaurants. I had out of town guests, a total of 7 in my party, each of us shared the same disappointment in the food offerings. The duck confit I ordered was uneatable, the duck was so overcooked it was crisp, the polenta cake was burned to the point that it resembled a hockey puck. Appetizers that should have been warm or hot were served room temperature. The bread was stale, other items were obliviously reheated (French-fries tasted like Styrofoam). I won't detail each meal, but all were disappointing.
We couldn't believe such poor quality food would be served at such a reputable restaurant. However, our server, Steve, did provide good service and did what he could do to graciously handle our complaints.
Outstanding service and excellent food. Thank you Nancy and Mimi!
Our waitresses were amazing!
Lovely Food and service. Beautiful ambiance. Worth a visit.
We were treated like royalty Everyone from the hostess bar tender server and manager we outstanding and the food was great!
We really appreciate everyone making our evening so special.
We had a fabulous dinner with delicious food. Service was excellent as well.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant, food was excellent . Great service all around, would highly recommend it.
Food was excellent. Service was well beyond excellent
Great service and ambiance. We went on Valentine’s Day so had a limited special menu. Will try again when the regular menu is available.
Lovely experience. Love the new menu. Can’t wait to come back again!
Great late night dinner at the the Mills house, food was great and service wonderful!
Had dinner and drinks in the Barbadoes Room Sunday. The food was delicious. The menu offers a variety of different things including a raw bar. The service was excellent and The courtyard is absolutely beautiful.
Really excellent service and food! We love coming here and the new menu. We will be back.
Wonderful staff, especially our waiter. Beautiful restaurant. Just a great venue and great food.
Service was excellent as was the food. Lived in Charleston for 35 years and with all the wonderful restaurants around, we had not been to the Barbados Room. We will definitely be back!
Perfect evening in the courtyard of the Mills house at the Barbados room. French sparkling Rose, house made meats and cheeses and wonderful variety of small and large plates. We had the Sweet potato croquettes which were delicious and split a homemade pasta with a cream sauce. Service was prompt and friendly, they turned on fire heaters for us the moment they saw us putting on our coats. Great experience!
My party went for restaurant week. The soup, mushroom and leek was very delightful, however the rest of the meal was poorly prepared. The fried chicken pieces were confusing and the skin was soft and inedible. The flavor or the breading would have been delicious if prepared better. The peas were undercooked and inedible. The flourless chocolate cake was presented without a knife and it was impossible to cut with only a fork due to how hard and cold it was. Overall I was very disappointed in our experience.
We knew this hotel had a good reputation but were disappointed in the dining experience. In a town like Charleston it’s a shame to ever have a mediocre experience.
Beautiful room, used the restaurant week menu.Appetizers were very good. Main course of fried chicken failed. Listed as buttermilk fried chicken but did not meet expectations for a battered crust. Instead crust was thin more like Panko and had a sweet syrup poured over it.
This dish should not be served. It also included a bed of greens and beans which were very unattractive contained no color.
Great dinner at the Barbados room. Got lucky with the weather and got to sit outside. Food and service were great, very accommodating with with allergies and dietary restrictions.
Th is is such a beautiful restaurant. My husband and I went for brunch and started with a dozen oysters. I ordered the charcuterie plodder which was varied and huge. The smoked duck was a delicious surprise. My husband enjoyed the confit chicken wings. Very pleat with our experience again.
An amazing experience. The server was very professional and the food was fantastic!
Do not go here for New Years Eve. We waiting 15 minutes and no one served us. Yes, we had reservations. We were totally disappointed; especially since we were staying at the hotel.
Food excellent. Ribeye cooked perfectly. Duck confit crisp on outside, juicy inside. Ravioli very tasty. Gin cocktail excellent. Service perfect. We’ll be back. Special kudos to General Manager Dimitri Hatgidimitiou - professional, aware, cordial, and on his game.
Bustling day before New Years, service was great, our entrees took a bit to get to the table which we didn’t even notice because we were enjoying 1/2 off wine night! Manager came over with desserts at the end of dinner to apologize... highly recommend!
Another great dinner at the Barbadoes room. We arrived early for our reservation and despite the fact the dining room was almost full, the manager was so nice and sat us right away. Our waiter Steve was friendly and professional. We had the sausage plate, burrata, Grouper and ribeye. Both were great but the ribeye could have been cooked a bit more. We were celebrating a birthday and they sent us over a dessert with a candle, on the house! Great service and food! Thank you!!
Food came out cold for a couple of us on multiple occasions. Overpriced Christmas dinner four course meal.
The food was acceptable but not great. I would have liked one traditional Christmas dinner choice on the me use.
This is our traditional Christmas dinner location. The food is the best, the service is top notch and the hotel is decorated splendidly.
Elegant restaurant for all occasions
Waited 15 minutes for a server. She crab soup was good but low country sandwich was awful. Stale with tasteless shrimp. Bacon was not in menu description, and we do not eat bacon. Terrible brunch.
Wonderful way to spend Christmas
