Barbadoes Room -The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel
Great experience, good portions, tasty food, excellent service. Very extensive restaurant week menu!!
Lovely choice for restaurant week; mills offered wider menu choices than many other restaurants. Also, our server Steve was excellent!
There were 7 of us at the table, and everyone agreed their meals were delicious. The young lady who served us was helpful and efficient. We all said we would certainly come back again.
Restaurant week and food and service were excellent. Will go back.
The food was delicious but the staff struggled. It wasn’t just our table either. Everyone either waited long for meals or had issues with their tab.
Service was good but the food was surprisingly below average. Too many options in the Charleston area to dine at instead of wasting a night on an overpriced dinner at The Barbados room.
The appetizer and the main course were both good size portion and delicious. The deserts were petite and unique. The service was excellent..
We thought we had been transported to a luxury resort in the islands! The decor is beautiful, the service was attentive without being over bearing and the food was superb and beautifully presented. We will return!
Service was impeccable! When there was a misunderstanding of an order, it was corrected immediately.
The food was delicious. I loved the atlantic salmon that was served during restaurant week. The atmosphere was lovely.
We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Michael and Stephen were excellent as were the other servers. The food was delicious and we will definitely recommend to our friends that they need to go to the Barbados room
Server asked me e u done???
First visit to Charleston. Stayed at The Mills House. Our server Steve shared vast knowledge of the history of Charleston, things to do and places to eat...
Service was average but food quality was poor and poor presentation. Crab was bad on crab cake benedict, lettuce was wilted. So typical of food served at a hotel. I’ll never go back. Never recommend it.
Beautiful ambiance matches the delicious breakfast we had on our stay at The Mill! My fiancé says it was the best omelet he ever had. Order the potatoes at breakfast! Delicious!
Lovely brunch! The food was great, service was friendly, management is professional and is constantly checking on the guests, great live music!
Wife and I emjoyed a really beautiful outdoor dinner here on a Saturday night in July. Despite the heat, perfectly comfortable next to the founybefore dusk. Great oysters, fresh well prepared lacal fish and dessert. Haven’t been here in years, plan to return more often!
Great food, breakfast stops at 10:30 with brunch on sundays starting at 11, so beware of transition, great food and outdoor ambiance was beautiful
We had our wedding reception at The Mills House 10 years ago, so we wanted to be sure to visit again on our 10 year anniversary trip in June. We had a lovely brunch by the fountain (my French toast was fabulous). Shortly after we were seated the manager arrived with complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary (I had mentioned this when booking via Open Table). Both the manager and server were warm and helpful and the food was great. Love this place.
A fabulous dinner with incredible service. Nice to be in a quiet dinning room where we could carry on a conversation.
A beautiful courtyard and incredible food prepared by Chef Hunt and his team!
Absolutely wonderful. Everything you would expect from an excellent restaurant except the price. Quite reasonable for Charleston.
Service was good. Felt like the portions were a bit small for the price.
What a great lunch me and my wife had today! The food was outstanding, pastrami Rueben was soooo good! It was my wife’s birthday and the manager came out with 2 glasses of champagne at the end of our meal, on him to wish my wife a happy birthday asked to take a picture of us with our phone... you don’t see hospitality like that much anymore. Our waitress was very attentive and the dining room and courtyard is beautiful. Can’t wait to return!
Beautiful room, waitress seemed a little lost. There were 4 of us, most enjoyed their meals 2 of us ordered burgers which were really overcooked and dry.
The she crab soup was amazing! The rest of the meal was average. The service was slow. They said they were overwhelmed since it was Spoleto but the restaurant was lass than half full.
Exquisite and creative dishes that exceeded my expectation!
Went for Mother’s Day and had a great Brunch. Good service with bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s and a very nice buffet spread. A great experience all around.
Beautiful Mother's Day setting! Lovely buffet that covered brunch and lunch with fresh quality and constant monitoring of the food. I'm not normally big on buffet service but this was exceptional. Sat outside and was very comfortable and able to enjoy the classic Charleston hotel experience.
Group of 6 for Mother’s Day brunch. Food selection was great and there was no way we could possibly try everything offered. Seafood cold bar was a nice touch. Throughout the meal the kitchen managers were on top of making sure all the options were full.
Unfortunately, the service at our table was horrible. We had dirty plates sitting at the corner of our table for at least 10” before I moved them to the middle of our table for at least another 15”. As frustrating as this was, the hostess, presumed Manager and presumed lead Waiter were stationed within 10 ft of our table and walked by us 20+ times. I guess sitting people and ringing the register up for $75/head was more important than making sure their guests were satisfied.
I made a reservation for my daughter's college graduation brunch. I called to inquire if Saturday brunch was held and was confirmed. I made the reservation on Open Table. Our server was quite brusque when we arrived and were told there was no Saturday Brunch. No apology made for the miscommunication. We had a party of nine. The food was very slow to arrive and came out in a trickle one or two plates at a time. Of the nine diners, five individuals got the completely wrong item to eat and there was something missing or mixed up with the other four orders. The food was cold and unappetizing. The manager agreed to only accommodate the check partially. It was the worst dining experience I have ever had. DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT!
Located in a beautiful, historic hotel. We ate in the courtyard area..it was a nice, scenic view for breakfast. The flowers and fountain made it very peaceful and the food was great.
Be careful what you order. The crab Benedict sounds good, but is just poached eggs on crab without any sauce that would enhance the otherwise quite bland taste. The she crab soup was very good. Very good, friendly service.
Wife had salmon served on beets and cauliflower mousse-EXCELLENT.
I had grouper served in giant lima bean sauce with fennel marmalade-also EXCELLENT.
Nancy, our server was, you guessed it, EXCELLENT.
Chef is clever and inventive. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
They never should have taken ANY reservations near the end of the event if they had no intention of making sure the last reservations received the same fresh, complete menu as stated. Then because of the lack of food items that were picked over, my 2:45 seating and a 7 top that came in behind us, were screwed out of the always wonderful experience. I have taken my family there for 7 years. But that won't be happening again. The server Robin was exceptional as were her support staff, but in trying to make up for this fiasco, they over-served my husband martinis and he became inebriated, which made the rest of my Easter intolerable. This is in no way the normal reflection of this great hotel. But I would still recommend this establishment.
It may be good for regular dining, but the Easter buffet was embarrassingly inept. We arrived @215 and I had been assured by the person taking the reservation that they would not allow items to run out for the later seatings. This was not the case. We sat at a small cocktail table with staff running behind us on both sides. Larger tables just need to be cleaned. They were out of oysters and lamb, which was the reason we chose this buffet. Lamb came out later, and was raw except the outer most slices, so not enough to go around. Also, no sauces like au jus, chutney or mint to compliment the lamb, just some Dijon aioli which was gone and dried on the edges. It would have been better to have nothing than to present that. The salad bar had 2 dressings that were ranch type heavy offerings, no vinegrette anywhere. The sides were ok, but nothing noteworthy, just everyday local fare. The final blow was the dessert table. There were still many customers throughout the restaurant eating and talking. I could not believe the mess that was left by 300p. Someone, even if it wasn’t there job, should have come out, removed the majority of the plates and trays the had been picked over and cleaned up and reorganized the 3 things that were left into a less distressing display. Guests were making comments and jokes about how bad it was. We have never been this disappointed at a 75 dollar per person holiday buffet.
We enjoyed being there. The wait staff was attentive. Enjoyed the music and atmosphere. The food was disappointing.
Brunch was $75 a person...seafood portion was set up in the sun. The food that was set up inside was cold. Bread was so hard my 6 year old wouldn’t eat it. All the desserts were store bought and not made in house. Total tourist trap!!!!
We so enjoyed the Easter Buffet! Loved the live music. Nice variety of food. Great atmosphere.
We have gone there for 5 Easter’s in a row....Has always been wonderful but this year the restaurant had made so many changes/cut backs that the experience was horrible. Always had unlimited mimosas now only get one complimentary drink..... buffet used to be Hugh now minimal with NO salad bar which used to take up about 30 feel. For 4 people bill was $347.00......the buffet was worth$25 at most!!! Would NOT recommend to others!!!!
