Food was very good..liked some things more than others..the fried oyster mushrooms are good to try once, the tzatziki had a non traditional sweetness that wasn't my favorite and the cinnamon in the rooster dish was too overpowering but all the meat and potatoes on the giorti platter, the kopanisti and the bread were great..overall a good night & service was amazing!

Overall great food authentic delicious especially lamb chops according to my Greek husband:) Great house white blend ! Suggestion to slice gyro meat thinner .. doesn’t work with putting it in the pita the traditional way .. service was great! Friendly and knowledgeable Recommend for a casual delicious time !

I’ve only heard great things so my bf and I were really excited to have a dinner date here, and Bar Vlaha did NOT disappoint!! Ambience is nice and I love how you can see the chefs cook. Our server and bartender James was amazing, he explained the menu to us pretty well and we followed his food recommendations which were all excellent! We got Psomi (sheep milk butter was yummmm!), 3 dips: Galotyri, Melitzanosalata, and Kopanisti for appetizers. House red wine for drinks. For mains, we shared Chicken Kontosouvli and Moshchari de Damaskina (my favorite of all). Get the beef cheeks and you won’t regret it as it melts in your mouth. Can’t wait to come back again!!! On street parking only so be prepared to walk at least a block if you go during peak hours.

Food and service were outstanding. However: (1) Tables are hard to come by ("standard" reservations are actually reservations for the bar!) and very tight in terms of spacing; and (2) The noise level was so high that it was practically impossible to have a conversation.

We were still eating out appetizers when our food came out too quickly so it sat while we finished out apps- food was then not as warm. The food delivery was not paced well.

The lamb chops won the 150% price. Oh My, the best. Service very nice. WE sat at the bar for my wonderful husband's 81st bday and wish we had had a "talkable" table.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, good service. We were there for brunch so it was fun to experience some unfamiliar Greek dishes and the tapas/sharing style was a good opportunity to try several dishes. The “drip” coffee could be better. We were delighted to see Red Donkey beer from Santorini on the menu!

BarVlaha is outstanding in food and service every time we go there, and Chef McCoart is so gracious and welcoming. Definitely a michilen star restaurant, no wonder they were rated one of the top 4 restaurants in Boston, even though they’re in Brookline!

A very pleasant brunch. Food was very good and well presented. Service very knowledgeable and welcoming. The restaurant itself is quite lovely with pretty tableware etc. We will def go back. Now if we can only get a dinner reservation after 5 and before 9...:)

The food was amazing. The service was very attentive. The restaurant ambience was simple and classy. It was a small space with moderate noise levels. Had one of the best meals I've had in a while with their amazing traditional flavors.

This was honestly one of the BEST restaurants I have been to in Boston!! Our waitress Samia was delightful and so knowledgeable about the food and origins of the restaurant, and the food itself was amazing. We got the wild boar, the tomato orzo, the traditional vegetables, the baked fish of the day, and the fennel sausage. Each dish that came out was better than the next, the star of the show was definitely the zesty and cinnamony wild boar with the best lemon potatoes I have ever eaten. One of the people in my party is gluten and dairy free and they made all the necessary accommodations to make sure she we could enjoy as many meals as possible (there was only one we ordered that she couldn’t eat, the orzo). We got the house white wine which was also delicious and perfect with our meal. Bar Vlaha is on the more expensive side but it’s worth it for this unique experience, would 100% recommend and will be coming back very soon!!
