Excellent service with descriptions of the menu and wine. All of the food was fresh and flavorful. The hangar steak and scallops were favorites of the group. I’d recommend a reservation and ordering some small bites with your drinks.

Absolutely one of the best meals we have had. The variety was great and the service was impeccable. We had the Patatas Bravas, Cous-Cous Ensalada, Fried Cauliflower (one of our favorites), Gambas al Ajillo (another all time favorite) and Steamed Mussels Tapas, along with the Mixta Paella really hard to say favorites as they all became our favorites. If your wanting a relaxing atmosphere and superior service and great Spanish cuisine, this is a must go to restaurant. It will be on the top of our list when we are in the PDX area. You won't regret trying it out. I would definitely make reservations if you can. We sat outside and it was perfect.

A great first visit to Bar Casa Vale. We ordered several plates to share. All were absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and on point. I highly recommend this spot.

The edition of the covered outdoor space has really damaged the ambiance and beauty of the building, which used to look pretty from the street with the floor to ceiling windows. Now, the front has brown camping tents out front, which you also have to look at from the inside, and which also created a draft that my girlfriend didn’t enjoy. This was my 4th visit to the place so clearly I had considered myself a fan. Last night, nearly every dish was totally average if not unenjoyable. I typically love shishito peppers in general, but these were overly large, lacked any flavor (we had to request salt & pepper), and now of them had any spice. The mussels on the appetizer list was served cold and wasn’t good. The shrimp were fine, but overly covered in crunchy crusted breadcrumb type stuff and could have had more flavor. The cous cous was fine but heavily covered with like a vinegar that we didn’t like. In total, we maybe tried eight items on the menu… abc couple additional items not mentioned above were also just fine, but nothing special. The only dish we liked was the grilled octopussy… but by the time it came, we were just disappointed to have spent our anniversary here and agreed we wouldn’t go back. The service was solid, very nice people… but we left early and went to another restaurant to have a glass of wine and dessert instead of staying here. Unfortunately, I have to say that I wouldn’t recommend this place after having previously being a fan.

Aside from a very salty cheesecake for dessert (?!) everything here was spot on. Great food and drinks. The paella is delicious. That and a salad or the cauliflower entree make for a reasonably priced and tasty dinner for two.

Really had a nice time here. Went with a friend and we spent awhile chatting after dinner and I really appreciate that the staff wasn't trying to rush us out. We had the potatoes, pork tenderloin, and grilled oysters and everything was delicious. The pork tenderloin was so tender it melted in my mouth.

Delicious tapas- great place for our group of 4 to share several plates. The timing of each with perfect amount of time to fully enjoy the plate before the next one arrived. Several price points for various budgets. Drinks were also delicious

Our server crushed it! Not the biggest fan of the patio seating, people kept leaving the outside door open & it was freezing. The toasts (mussel, tomato) were bangin. The paella, not so much. Oh yeah, REALLY good orange wines!

We had dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. All of the food was delicious! We began with the pulpo (octopus) tapas, a generous serving cooked just right! Then the seafood paella, which had much less rice than paella we have tried elsewhere. All accompanied by a pitcher of sangría. Service was outstanding! We were served glasses of cava on the house for our anniversary. We finished with some house-made ice cream. Again, everything was so delicious! Our only regret was that we chose to sit inside because it was a cold night, but it would have been warmer outside under the tent by the fire!

On a regular night, this place is pretty great. The value of the pre fix 4 course meal for NYE was terrible, food choices and quantity very sub par. Drinks and 4 people to dine was over $600 plus tip. Normally you would be full from a 4 course meal, but definitely not from these tiny bites. Very disappointed.

The food, service, staff and meeting one of the owners who gave us a free glass of champagne was utterly surreal!!! The food was top notch, Elle our server had the best personality and was superb! The wine and New Year’s Eve menu was an utterly orgasmic experience!!! The food was so fresh and flavorful! If you are ever in Portland, check out this lil hidden gem, you won’t be disappointed . They definitely know food and how to make dining a true experience!!!

Gorgeous space with warm and friendly service. The food is always delicious and seasonal - get the octopus! We sat on the patio next to the fire and it was very comfortable even though it was a cold and rainy night.
