   Perfect for two people: tomatoes toast, cheese board, shrimp, pork cheeks and croquettes. Can't wait to go again. Please add traditional tortilla to the menu

   Aside from a very salty cheesecake for dessert (?!) everything here was spot on. Great food and drinks. The paella is delicious. That and a salad or the cauliflower entree make for a reasonably priced and tasty dinner for two.

   The atmosphere can’t be beat! Theron, the bartender was outstanding… personable and knowledgeable. We just had a few small bites and all were delicious!

   Really had a nice time here. Went with a friend and we spent awhile chatting after dinner and I really appreciate that the staff wasn't trying to rush us out. We had the potatoes, pork tenderloin, and grilled oysters and everything was delicious. The pork tenderloin was so tender it melted in my mouth.

   Delicious tapas- great place for our group of 4 to share several plates. The timing of each with perfect amount of time to fully enjoy the plate before the next one arrived. Several price points for various budgets. Drinks were also delicious

    Service was exceptional in helping us select things for our palette. Food was exquisite. It is a very dark ambiance. My wife was a little cold, although I as fine. We will definitely be back again only this time with friends.

    Our server crushed it! Not the biggest fan of the patio seating, people kept leaving the outside door open & it was freezing. The toasts (mussel, tomato) were bangin. The paella, not so much. Oh yeah, REALLY good orange wines!

    We had dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. All of the food was delicious! We began with the pulpo (octopus) tapas, a generous serving cooked just right! Then the seafood paella, which had much less rice than paella we have tried elsewhere. All accompanied by a pitcher of sangría. Service was outstanding! We were served glasses of cava on the house for our anniversary. We finished with some house-made ice cream. Again, everything was so delicious! Our only regret was that we chose to sit inside because it was a cold night, but it would have been warmer outside under the tent by the fire!

    On a regular night, this place is pretty great. The value of the pre fix 4 course meal for NYE was terrible, food choices and quantity very sub par. Drinks and 4 people to dine was over $600 plus tip. Normally you would be full from a 4 course meal, but definitely not from these tiny bites. Very disappointed.

    The food, service, staff and meeting one of the owners who gave us a free glass of champagne was utterly surreal!!! The food was top notch, Elle our server had the best personality and was superb! The wine and New Year’s Eve menu was an utterly orgasmic experience!!! The food was so fresh and flavorful! If you are ever in Portland, check out this lil hidden gem, you won’t be disappointed . They definitely know food and how to make dining a true experience!!!

    Gorgeous space with warm and friendly service. The food is always delicious and seasonal - get the octopus! We sat on the patio next to the fire and it was very comfortable even though it was a cold and rainy night.

    The hangar steak was very good and the other dishes were ok, but the portions were very small for the price. The cheese board was very meager for the price and we didn’t care for the squash/mushroom offering. This dish was not eye-pleasing at all. The drinks contained too much ice. All in all, it was an ok dining experience however we won’t be returning. Thank you for the opportunity to review our meal.

    We had a delicious Cava and two wonderful tapas. The paella was quite disappointing and our other side dish was bland. This was their vegetarian paella, so there are limitations, but the socarrat on the bottom was not great, the rice didn’t taste like anything but olive oil (where’s the sofrito?) and their choice of vegetables in the paella was disappointing. Having had an amazing vegetarian paella at a different restaurant, I know there’s no reason it can’t be fantastic. The dessert choices were disappointing too. I am limited by a tree nut allergy and don’t care for cheesecake, so we skipped it. Overall, not sure I would recommend it in spite of the wonderful service and the two good dishes.

    After having recently returned from Spain, we were happy to find that Portland had a couple of tapas bars. We decided to try Bar Casa Vale and were pleasantly surprised to find that they had many tapas that were authentic. The price for what we ordered would have been cut in half (at least) though in Spain compared to Portland! Overall, a great experience with some friends and we will go back to try some of the other dishes we didn't get to on this trip.

    We had a wonderful experience eating at Bar Casa Vale! We went for my partner's birthday and the server Leela was amazing and welcoming, made us feel very special. I'm usually wary of tapas places but the portions were great for the price. The octopus was incredibly tasty and everything had really good flavor. Highly recommend!

    The server was great, the drinks were good, the food was inconsistent. They were out of many menu items. Some plates were OK, some were not- the paella was overcooked and crispy. Charcoal on the bottom. I really wanted to like this place- maybe for drinks and service.

    In a word -- fabulous. Delicious food, lots of variety, great service. One of the best dining experiences of our lives. We will be back. We ordered tapas. The last plate, almost an afterthought, was the flank steak with goat cheese. It was the best. Next time we are leading with that.
