This is an expensive place, even by Maui standards. The food was good, but not much better if at all than in many other places. So, the ambiance should have been the qualifying factor, but it was not. Starting with the reservation reminder on the phone, announcing that the table is ready and waiting, but then we were seated and had to wait after arrival. Than a lady who took us to our table addressed us just by last name, no Mr/Ms, which sounded a bit rude. Then the table was in the open, under a roof, but no screens or walls, it was a November night, the place is very close to the ocean, it was not pleasant.

Typical resort restaurant. Overpriced for the quality of food. We saw several couples leave after ordering only an appetizer. Our bill was over $150 and we had two glasses of wine, and split a salad, catch of the day and dessert.

The Banyan Tree staff went above and beyond excellent . They set us out in an exclusive table where the ambience was as perfect as Maui Paradise should be. Food was absolutely amazing and even as the light island rain began to fall the hostess came to check on us and put up the umbrella to keep us from getting too wet. Truly the Aloha spirit!! We can’t thank you enough!!

Food was delicious. Had fresh seared Mahi Mahi with a side of potatoes in a brown butter sauce. Enjoyed frozen pina colada and lava flow. Appetizer of garlic prawns that were cooked perfectly. Overpriced for food.

We love eating in this area. And all of them are very good. But this was the worst one in the area and very overrated. Service good the staff was very hospitable but the food was not.

We dined here our last night on Maui and it was absolutely fabulous!! We stayed at the Ritz and it was fantastic walking a few steps to dinner while viewing the gorgeous sunset. I only wished we had dined here more than one evening! Food was great, and service impeccable. Other restaurants we dined at throughout our stay included Merriman’s, Cafe O’Lei & Plantation House, and we were all in agreement that Banyan Tree was our favorite dinner. Our waitress Miako was absolutely wonderful and even snapped a photo of us against the sunset backdrop. We will be back!!

This is an amazing restaurant at the Ritz Carlton. The walk over is beautiful with the views of the ocean. The food was magnificent. I had the shrimp ceviche, seafood curry and banana cream pie for dessert. I started with a mai tai and then a Sauvignon Blanc to go with my dinner. Omg! Everything was out of this world! The seafood was so fresh. The dessert was a great take on banana cream pie. But it was soooo much better than any dessert I’ve had. The service was exceptional! The sunset views are to die for from the restaurant. Oh and the room itself is just heaven. The room has hundreds of fresh real orchids and plants everywhere. I’ll be dreaming about coming here since I’m vacationing Maui. I can’t wait to go back.

$300 meal that was $60 quality. Lackluster in all areas. Was one of the most expensive and least enjoyable dinners I’ve had on this island. Server was great. Staff always is. Recommend: anywhere else for the price.

This was the best dining experience on our trip to Maui. I let the restaurant know ahead of time It was in our 25th wedding anniversary and the restaurant did not disappoint. They seated us in a special location upon arrival and the food was probably the best we had as we dined all over Maui during the week. Special shout out to Katherine, our server and the others who made our wedding anniversary Very memorable. Kudos to the staff..

We love fine dining and have no problem spending the money if the food is outstanding. Ambiance was really pretty and romantic but the food was mediocre and overpriced with small portions. Location was convenient because we were staying at the Ritz but there’s a lot more local spots that offer better food.

It was our last night on Maui and we had a lovely table for two out on the patio. The ambiance was beautiful with tiki torches, a fire pit, and of course- the view! The waitstaff was very attentive and professional as was the manager that checked in on us. We had the fresh catch of the day (marlin) and the filet - both were fantastic. Drinks and starters were on point as well! Great spot especially if you’re staying on site.

Sadly seated next to a gigantic party with dozens of little kids that were screaming and crying well past 8 pm. The staff could not accommodate a move and offered us a "better" table if we came back another night. This seemed like a party better served with a private space. Our food was great, but the atmosphere was not so appealing. Our server tried to be attentive but, at one point, dropped a knife into my son's drink and later took our dessert order only to return and let us know it was sold out. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Choice of semi enclosed or open space dining. Nick, our server, was special. Very formal and polite. Entries were good but don't miss the beet salad and mushroom risotto. Happy dining!

The Ritz does not disappoint. I mentioned our anniversary in the comments when I booked our reservation and the Banyon Tree staff had us set up at an amazing private table with ocean and sunset views, a fire pit and tiki torches. Luke our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and made perfect meal recommendations. We had the rib-eye special and the fresh catch fish special, both cooked and seasoned to perfection. Luke surprised us with a bananas foster style desert on the house to top off a perfect evening. We highly recommend the Ritz Carlton Maui and The Banyon Tree Restaurant for your special occasions while in Maui.

We hS\ \\\ We had a private table with white linens. There were waiting staff refilling water glasses and removing plates unobtrusively. Our waiter gave us the history of a place called Kapalua that had been torn down. This is were we'd thought we'd made the reservation. I had very special times in Maui before and was hoping to retrace my steps with my now grown son and his wife. Our meal was excellent; every attempt was made to make our evening enjoyable.
