Amazing food and service was great as always!
Consistent and excellent cuisine and service!
The food is absolutely delicious! Sadly, no lentil soup or plain lentils and rice but when mine came full of raisins and I sent it back they removed it from the bill without issue. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and 2 people can ABSOLUTELY share each HUGE entree! I have never tasted such sublime Persian food and I have eaten a lot of Persian food!
We loved the restaurant and the food was excellent. The portions are very large. We could have easily spilt our meal and still had some left over. Our only complaint is when we asked our server how big the portions were. She asked if we were hungry but never told us they were big enough to share.
Authentic and high quality. Great service and generous portions
Food was delicious portions where a lot larger than anticipated
Very unprofessional and unpleasant staff from the hostess to waitresses. We chose to be seated outdoor. That was not a good idea. Very noisy street. The food arrived late.
I do not recommend this restaurant. Go to the Italian restaurant next door.
We were visiting San Diego from Arizona, for a Father's Day getaway. We wanted to eat someplace good, within walking distance of our hotel. I made a 7 PM reservation for Saturday evening. We arrived almost 30 minutes early and were seated right away.
The service was great and the food was amazing!!! We will definitely be back.
Superb "world famous chicken"!!! This is the best place for Mediterranean food in San Diego!!!
Portions are so large that one “world famous chicken” could feed 2-3 people. Only 2 of us out to dinner. We should have ordered one meal and split it. Ended up taking boxes back to the hotel, but instead, just handed out food to the homeless that line the streets of Downtown San Diego. Cali still way over the top in terms of Covid paranoia. People wearing masks out on the street, in their cars, etc. Time to join the rest of the country.
Hands down the best Persian food I have ever eaten. They knock it out of the park in taste, menu selections and portions. We could have easily split a dinner and enjoyed some other appetizers.
We dine there for the birthday of father of my son.
We had a good time. The service was really good but the food was pricy
FOOD WAS GREAT, SPECIALLY THE SHISH KABOB, NOT MUCH AMBIANCE, FELT COLD INSIDE, SERVICE WAS GOOD AND FRIENDLY.
I’ve been to Bandar at least a dozen times and as usually the food presentation was great and plenty. I ordered the chicken kabob, it was good but in the past times I went the food was much more tastier. Probably a new chef. Service was good and I would definitely go back.
It was oaky the service was a little lacking but understand covid may have changed the staffing situation so just be patient
We loved everything about this place. The service was great, the food was even better and the peaceful ambiance was everything.
Portions are huge. Food was delicious and very fresh.
Excellent dishes-large portions!
We celebrated birthdays, the food was delicious as always our waiter was great, we got there early and the hostess set our table half hour earlier for us.
Delicious. Pricey but huge portions. Next time I would share a dish.
We ordered family style dinner for 4. Everything we ordered were delicious. It's our first time here but we're coming back on our next visit to SD.
Seats too close together, large food portions without much taste
We love this restaurant food is amazing. We go there mostly for end of week dinner
Have a great meal they were very aware of the COVID restrictions and we felt very safe inside. The food was fresh and extremely tasty and the service staff were very helpful and accommodating to everything we needed
The food is very good.
This place had excellent food . It was fresh and very tasty . The waitress was very good and everyone conducted teamwork . I would definitely return. Only thing I would have liked is more of a variety of alcohol .
Filet mignon shish kabob and tadig were delicious! Outdoor dining in the tent - nice ambiance, not too windy or loud but inevitably some fast cars drive by and shake the tent and some insects (nothing the restaurant can do about this, of course). Overall, delightful and we would return.
Great food and service
It worth the money they’re charging. Enclosed outdoor seating on the street w cars whizzing by. One wrong turn we’re all
Toast. The food was less than fair. Don’t order the eggplant stew. It was mush and tasteless. And a so so glass of red. Total $56 incl tip for one person. Gaslamp pricing for tourists. Can’t recommend.
Incredible food and service!
We had a delicious dinner at Bandaranaike! We started with the eggplant appetizer, which was amazing! It came with very thin sliced bread, almost like a pliable cracker. The yogurt and olive oil on top added to the creaminess.
For our entrees, I had the lamb shank and my husband got their World Famous Chicken. His chicken was 8 tenderloins, marinated and grilled, with a side of rice. The portion was huge! He gave me some chicken to try and the flavor was incredible. It was tender and full of delicate spices. He was only able to finish half of it (and have the rest for lunch the next day!)
My lamb was 2 shanks, with an abundance of delicious rice and a bowl of the sauce the lamb was cooked in. The lamb meat fell off the bone and was so tender. The flavor was subtle and not at all gamy, like lamb can sometimes be. I too could only finish half of it. We both loved our dinner and we’re glad we got to enjoy it a second time!
The service was attentive and friendly, and we were very comfortable outside. I would go back to Bandar any time for another fantastic meal!!
Muy buena la comida, y bien servido
The street noise is very intense. One waitress for Friday evening. An the Spanakopita dough was so tough I couldn’t cut it with a steak knife. It was like rubber.
Amazing food, amazing staff, great portions.
Great tasting food. Good amount for the price! I will be back to try other dishes.
It was amazing as always
Valentine’s Day dinner date with the wifey. Outdoor ambiance. Everything was extremely good from the service to the wonderful food selection.
Delicious Flavored Food I will definitely go again waiter was very attentive it was a great evening celebration of mt birthday 🎂
