Welcome to BALVANERA! The first restaurant of Argentine Chef Fernando Navas (elBulli, Nobu, SUSHISAMBA), BALVANERA represents the food, drink & spirit of Buenos Aires - porteña cuisine with influences from the dynamic regions of Argentina. The menu, from inspired and traditional small plates and composed vegetable dishes to signature, pasture-raised meats and friends & family-style platos is a journey from Fernando's culture through his time working in great kitchens in Barcelona, Miami and New York City.

The wine list has been developed in collaboration with Argentine Sommelier Nicolas Martianhes. The program showcases a noteworthy selection of new world wines (primarily Argentine/South American), some old world gems and a curated selection of beer.

Guests can enjoy a vibrant Monday night BYOB scene, partake in an Argentine Feast Sunday-Thursday nights, raise a glass during bottomless brunch or gather friends for an evening of great food, wine and company!

I’m sure I tend to repeat myself, but I can’t help it- I love this restaurant! The food was yet again perfectly prepared. The attention to detail was impeccable. I highly recommend the sweetbreads- perfectly crisped on the outside, and tender and moist on the inside. The service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. This is my favorite restaurant in New York. My guest from out of town was impressed with every dish, maybe I should say overjoyed. And he lived in NYC for 25 years. This was another great experience at Balvanera, on every level. I can’t wait for my next chance to enjoy a meal there, so I already set up another reservation.

A good brunch spot without all the fuss. We had a great server, the food was good, and it was a pleasant environment. There’s a bottomless option too.

Our first night away from our baby boy we got a late reservation at Balvanera. The vibe was cozy and many of the other patrons seemed to be regulars. Hugs and laughs were had. The sweetbreads were out of this world and the ribeye tasted like a multi course meal all rolled up into one dish but at the same time kept it simple enough to let the meat do the work. Excellent service and food on a special night for my wife and I.

Mushrooms with truffle oil & poached egg- wow! The croquettas, empanadas, and skirt steak (with a beautiful and yummy head of sweet & luscious roasted garlic) were beautifully prepared and so tasty. We’ll be back!
