Chaz, our server, was exceptional! He made the meal and our time there beyond expectations! The food was fresh, delicious and exquisite!
Hi MiaY, Fresh, delicious food paired with exceptional service is a recipe for success :) We appreciate you and your 5-star review. We will be sure to pass along the compliments to Chaz and we hope to see you back here soon!
Great food in a super swanky space. I felt like I was on a Greek island!
Everything was fair, but for the price we were not impressed. Noise level was fine, but only because we were one of three tables in the restaurant with people.

Enjoyed our dinner - octopus appetizer was excellent as was the moussaka. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. She recommended a Greek Cabernet Sauvignon which was really good. Ambience was pleasant- very light and airy inside. Bench seating with pillows along the wall may bother some folks but we were very comfortable. We will definitely return.
Hi ChristineR, We love to read when our servers enhance the experience! Thanks for stopping in and we look forward to your return :)
Great food for a reasonable price. We stuck with appetizers with some happy hour additions. The chicken souvlaki was excellent, as were the hummus, eggplant and tzatziki spreads. We also enjoyed the lamb meatballs. The waiter helped me select a dry white Greek wine that was delicious. The restaurant is lovely and reminded me of Kellari Tavern, a great Greek NYC restaurant. It was a very quiet Tuesday night but I expect it would be quite busy on the weekends. There are both outdoor and indoor seating options with bar (very classy looking) and dining room choices. Our bill was $61 for two Greek beers, a glass of wine and multiple generous appetizers, which we considered very reasonable. We will be back.
Excellent experience overall. Both of us had the Prix Fix meal, I had the Horiatiki (village) salad, Pastitsio and Butter Cake. We also ordered a bottle of wine and Saganaki as a starter. There was also some live Greek music that night which just added to the ambiance.
Good food. Great service. The location and atmosphere is nice. We attended some of the live music which added to the ambiance.
Beautiful room and the service could not have been better. We loved the bread, what it was served with, the spanakopita . My Ping Grigio was great. The entrees were very mediocre and very expensive. I was shocked to see my green beans were brown, the fish portion very small. I was told a whole fish “would take an hour”. Lemon potato’s were yummy. My partners orzo dish was not even close to worth what we were charged, hardly any vegetables in it at all. We noticed the diner next to us did not eat his pasta dish.
We would not return unless for appetizers only.
Arrived for Happy Hour on the patio. Nice to sit outside with drinks and apps. HH is a bargain. Entrees mostly high priced, but good, fresh seafood. Good service. I would try again.
Very pleasant experience dining at Balos. Food was good, service was excellent. Nice atmosphere.
Hi Frequentdiner, Thank you for the 5 stars! Good food, excellent service, and a nice atmosphere are just a few of our favorite things to serve up at Balos :) We hope to see you again soon!
Loved the experience! Always fun and good is delicious!
Thank you for dining with us! We look forward to serving you up another lovely experience on your next visit in.
Lovely venue and delicious food..... the service was slow: which seemed strange bc it was not crowded and there were a LOT of servers. Several times one server delivered our appetizers to the wrong table. Hopefully it was just a weird night bc we loved the food and plan to return!

The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. The Maitre'D could not have been nicer. He was constantly circulating to determine if everything was okay. The food was beautiful and tasty. It felt like we were back in the Greek islands. We can't wait to go back.
Hi Greenthumb, We can't wait to have you back! Thank you for the compliments to the Maitre' D and to our food. See you soon :)
Beautiful decor and cool vibe:) feels like you are on vacation
Hi AniaL, Thank you for coming in and digging our vibe! We look forward to seeing you again!
The Decour is so bright and refreshing it feels like you’re sitting on the Mediterranean and the staff was delightful and the food was delicious
Hi JenSparkle, Thank you for the 5-stars and enjoying our delightful staff and delicious food. We look forward to hosting you on your next trip in :)
1 hour and 20 minutes to get mediocre food on the table is a recipe for going out of business soon.
The service is way too slow and that ruins the dining experience
the food was good, but could have certainly used a "kick up" regarding spicing. The decor was a bit odd, given that a Greek restaurant would not be expected to have so much bamboo.
However, if you share dishes or have a coupon, a very nice meal. It is a bit pricey
Food was above our expectations and the service was attentive and non-invasive.
Balos was a huge disappointment. Server was very scattered and didn’t seem to know much about menu. Ordered a bottle of wine from menu to find out 15 minutes later they don’t carry it anymore. Very rushed into ordering. 30 mins after ordering entree he tells us 2 of the items are out. At that point we said forget it and took the check. Biggest complaint was the noise. Live music at 8pm. Would be great if you could still have a conversation with your table. When I tell you we were screaming at each other and leaning so far into the table to hear one another. Manager never even acknowledged us. Took our girls dinner over to Bricco, which never disappoints. Save yourself the time and money- do not go.
I went with a group of friends for lunch. Sadly, the place was practically empty at 12:30. We go the the prixe fixe lunch for $20. Great value - our three courses were well prepared and tasty. Can not wait to go back again.
Excellent food, fresh and delicious! The bread is served with a cheese/olive/olive oil dish which was a great start. Next we shared an assortment of appetizers from the happy hour menu including lamb meatballs and calamari and then each ordered a meal, we were all extremely happy with everything. We loved the Greek-themed atmosphere, very open and tastefully decorated. Will definitely be back!
We ate here once on a Saturday night with 6 people in our party and restaurant packed. Food and service were amazing. We didn't mind spending the money. Went again based on previous experience. This time it was a Wednesday with only about 30 people in the place. Service was average. Apps were good. No complaints. We both ordered fish (branzino and dorado). It took nearly an hour to arrive. Was wicked over cooked and dry and there were so many bones in it that we both decided to just not eat it. They did adjust our bill accordingly, but there really is no excuse for such poor quality in food, especially at over $30 a pound!
Delicious . The bus boy was super on top of things . He really took care of us. Pretty sure his name is Hunter . The waiter was great too.
Overall a good experience. Overall a good experience.
Great place but way way too pricey
Everything was excellent we chose the fresh fish which was recommended by our server it was cooked to perfection . She gave a great wine suggestion also . We will definitely return .
Excellent upscale greek food. Very nice decor and prompt service.
Great service and help with the many choices of Greek wine. Two top of the menu fish dishes are excellent.
Great server and experience was amazing. Balos came highly recommended as a place for celebrations. Loved the birthday dessert selection!
Wanted to try classic Greek dishes: Tzatziki spread with fresh bread, Spanakopita, Moussaka, Orzotto, Dorado Tsipoura & Patates Tiganites. All were delightfully done and enjoyed by our group.
This was the second time we tried the restaurant. It’s a very nice space and the waiter was extremely accommodating and pleasant. We really wanted to like this place. But three overall criticisms: 1) the prices are too high. $38 for Branzino? Most of the entrees were between $30-50! It’s simply impossible to get dinner for 2 with a glass of wine for each and pay less than $60 a person. If it were a great meal, that would be ok. But the food itself is just good, certainly not great. 2) two of our dishes were cold/lukewarm - including the Branzino and the Greek potatoes. Food simply has to be served hot. 3) the menu is too limited. Very few options for vegetarians. And even for meat and fish eaters, there isn’t much variety.
Music too loud but atmosphere was lively. Good food, beautiful ambience!
Place was empty. Much of the fish served was farm raised. The waiter did not know how the fish was presented. They did not have shrimp (when the waiter said they did) because it had spoiled. It was expensive so not a good experience all in all.
Balos was very easy to find, great location and beautifully done decor. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and service was prompt. Our dinner was very enjoyable: the salmon was exceptional, they offer great wine and very accommodating service. One suggestion: they may have to Choose between a great value with good food that packs people in ( ala Bar Taco) or an upscale place you go for a special date. The prices were high for the food both quality, quantity and presentation. I had roast chicken and It was a bit overpriced. The potatoes were flavorful and green beans had a delicious sauce.
A great pre theater dinner.
Way to loud with club music. Our waitress was lovely, but the food took over 45 minutes to arrive and there was no one in the restaurant. It’s OK not great. Not worth the money. Although the ribeye is outstanding
Seats were hard and uncomfortable. Food was disappointing; I had a chicken dish, which was tough and overcooked. Prices were excessive for the quality of food on offer. I will no dine at Balos again.
Way over priced!!
Food was overpriced and mediocre.
