Balangay is the Filipino culinary vision of award winning Chef Wing brought to the streets on Washington, D.C. With Palawan an island in the Philippines, as his native roots he brings many traditional flavors with him in his immigrant journey. After years on working in highly respected American kitchens Chef Wing combines modern techniques with beloved Filipino classic, such as his reeditions of Adobong Chicken, Inihaw na Kabibi (scallops), and many vegan options like his Pancit noodle dish.

From seafood island flavors, savory meat options, homemade desserts, and plant based plates that will expand flavors that you would expect from them Balangay is a great option for die hard foodies and casual diners who want to try a less common cuisine here in the states. Balangay started as small pop up and currently resides on the border between Petworth and Parkview in DC on Gerogia ave. Run, don't walk, to Balangay and get your self a cold beverage, and find your new favorite menu item!

This restaurant was not located at this shady area and address provided online and on OpenTable. A girlfriend and I made a 6pm reservation on a Friday night and was disappointed that we weren’t able to try this Filipino food. I would like to report this incident and share with OpenTable patrons. We dined at Chang Chang in DuPont instead.

I made a reservation to try this restaurant. My GPS took me to the Georgia Ave location. It turned out to be the old location. I then looked at my reservation and it said the new location was on Edgewood Street NE. I went to the door which was a Mess Hall. The guy that answered it was confused. It even had a sign of Balangay QR code as well as another restaurant. I walked up the alley to the other side and couldnt find another door. I called the number on Google and the website multiple times and no answer. Not sure where all these people that posted these reviews ate at. We were really disappointed that we were unable to try the food
