    Unfortunately, my friends and I encountered a very racist waiter. He would slam our cups on the table, wasn’t very friendly, and messed my order several times. Also, my friend had a shellfish allergy and there was a shrimp taco on the same plate as the other tacos. When we explained to him that our friend had a shellfish allergy all he did was put her food on a separate plate. Our food was cold and very nasty. When we asked for a manager, he refused to get someone over to our table. Overall this was the worst experience I’ve encountered here and I was very disappointed.

    The food is ALWAYS good here! We often just get some tacos and a drink .. but never disappointed. Last night we had the fish, carnitas, chicken and pepper tacos .. very good! The special guava margarita with tajin was delicious!

    Our server was so sweet and kind, however we only saw her about 5 times - taking drink order, delivering drinks, taking food order (probably 20-30 minutes after we sat), delivering food, and check delivery. We were out celebrating a birthday, and not well attended. She could have had a much higher tab from us had she only checked in more. The food was incredible and the drinks were delicious.

    I’ve been to Bakersfield several times over the years, and it’s usually a great experience. The staff is always friendly, and with a reservation, I’ve always been seated promptly. The food has typically been a highlight—especially the Johnny salad, Baja shrimp tacos, and the green salsa. On my most recent visit, the Johnny salad was still delicious, but the Baja shrimp taco didn’t taste as good as it used to, and the green salsa seemed different. I noticed the menu has changed, so that might explain it. Service is usually solid, but this time, our server didn’t check on us as often as expected, which was a bit disappointing. I still really like Bakersfield and hope these changes are just a bump in the road. I’ll definitely give it another try.

    We went early on a Thursday when the noise level is bearable. Bartender kept throwing glass bottles in the garbage which startled us ever time. 😳 The food was so good! Had the Johnny salad that I highly recommend. My husband had the stuffed poblano pepper that was very good. Our waiter, I wish I could remember his name , was so cute and attentive- really provided a great experience.

    Always a lively atmosphere, drinks are always good (specifically the classic margarita), and service is good, but I will say they have changed/removed some food items on the menu that were better before.

    The food was delicious and the waiter was courteous and attentive! I didn’t like our seats. They were really far in the back. I will admit that is just a preference and the restaurant was busy with limited seating.

    Great service, food came out quickly, we had the queso with chorizo, fish taco, taquitos, and empanadas and they were all amazing! Loved the pineapple margarita too so good
