It was a lovely brunch. The food was excellent.
I was really excited to try this place the menu looked great online. When we got there we were seated promptly and received waters, after that it was all downhill we weren’t greeted by our waiter after 15 mins. Finally after 15 minutes we were able to order drinks. Then it took another 10 minutes or so to order our dinner. Dinner took extremely long to get and the food looked like it was just thrown on the plate and the taste was nothing special. Very disappointing! I could have made the same meal at home at a fraction on the price and lot faster too. We were there just about 2 hours and won’t be going back
Great Food, but too pricey.
We had 8:30 PM reservations. Our first appreciation was that people were talking at their tables in table voices. Tables were not completing with ambient noise and getting louder and louder.
The colors are well chosen and excellent for exhaling into a dinner experience. The menu had a prefix option and a la carte. We chose a la carte. With the structure of their wine menu we were able to design our own food pairing with wine that was worth drinking.
Brandon was our server. He is not only one of the nicest people you will meet, he appreciates food and wine and is essentially a table consultant for putting together an excellent dinner experience, not just a meal.
The Staff was great, except the young man at the front who greets guests, but everyone else was very attentive and nice. The food made for a great photograph, but I prefer flavor. I ordered Steak and Potatoes, Surf and turf style, Prawns where a bit over cooked as well as un even cuts of steak, but Husbands lamb burger was good.
Had dinner here before a show at the Harris centre. Unfortunately it seems a lot of other folks had the same idea. I had allowed an hour and a half for dinner but the kitchen was slammed this night. Our salads and entrees were excellent but long waits between courses. There was live music in the dining room so honestly we wouldn’t have minded a bit but we had the show tix. We had to skip dessert on the prefixe dinner and the waiter and manager very graciously comped our drinks. The adjusted bill for the night was very fair and we made it to our show on time. I will definitely come back.
We had reservations for Feb 13, thinking it would be quieter and better than celebrating on the 14th. Turned out that you were doing the Valentine's day special that day also. Restaurant was packed, servers were overloaded, but still did a good job. The bad part was the music group that nearly blasted us out of the room. Even after multiple complaints and their toning it down, it was extremely difficult to have a conversation due to the noise of both the other diners and the band. And frankly, for an evening celebration like Valentine's Day, it was the wrong music and wrong group. Something much softer and more romantic would have been a far better choice. Classical guitar? Piano? Food was good as usual, but the steaks arrived too done for 2 of the 3 orders. I had the Ahi Poke and Scallops, which were just right and excellent. Will definitely continue to eat here, but need better selection of music for nights like this.
Overall great experience. Will definitely go again and would recommend to anyone. Great food, lively atmosphere but still able to have conversation
Had a very nice birthday dinner here. Food was great.
Delicious, beautifully presented food. Creative menu.
Lamb burger A+
We were not thrilled with live music— too loud for table conversations.
We will return for another lamb burger.
This never disappoints. Great wine, food and service!
Here for lunch. Very good grilled cheese and salad. The flat bread of the day was good but small, served on a flour tortilla. It should have come with a side dish of some sort to fill out the plate.
Friendly service, nice decor.
The food was great. The service was pretty good, although the wait staff became a little stressed when a large group came in. Considering the large group probably had made advanced reservations staffing should have been planned. They also had to be told twice about my reservation (the second time after I’d got a call while I was in the restaurant eating.) and they still never put me in as being there.
We waited almost 40 minutes for our food after ordering. Wine portion was very small and margarita was bad.
Food very good except short rib dry. Several mistakes made on drinks orders, but server corrected quickly with a smile
Absolutely love this restaurant. This was our 3rd time there and it never disappoints. Food is always super fresh and flavorful. Cocktails are Superb. It was a little louder than usual but we were sandwiched in between two large parties so I don’t think that’s always an issue.
Loved the restaurant. Our server Jamie was very helpful. The food great. Ambiance as well.
Great customer service!
Ambiance and service can’t be beat. Food is very good. Would dine here again!
The food is always excellent, although the menu items need to change on a regular basis. Variety would be good! The music was too loud in the dinning area - not conducive to good conversation or a fine dinning restaurant.
Food and drinks were perfect!
There were two of us but we received the wrong menus, and the lunch menu for only one person. The waiter wasn’t attentive enough to notice our flagging him so I finally had to get up and ask for another one. The coffee coming in a French press was nice. The ahí poke was flavorless and the carnitas were dry - I had to get up again to ask for soy sauce and salsa, respectively, since the waiter again was inattentive. My sister only wanted one taco and wanted to save the other two for later, so she asked for a box. But the box never came. So she had to ask again later, and was annoyed with the food sitting in front of her getting cold while we talked rather than having it boxed when she asked. Overall, we were disappointed, especially with the service.
We really enjoyed the Flatbread. But the service was extremely slow. It took close to 40 minutes just to get drinks and have them take our food order(we had a 7:30 show at Harris Center, in which the delay put us walking in the door at showtime, not good). But they also looked very busy. Since I own a business, I know there can be an 'off' night. All it takes is one or two employees to call in sick, and everyone is scrambling. Unfortunately, that happens way to often in all industries. Employees do not commit to their jobs, like they did in the 'old days'. But the location is good, so I will try them again, at another time, and will see if the service improves, or if that is a reoccurring issue.
Food was excellent - service terrible - don’t make us ask fir bread
Great food, great service, were very helpful and non-judgemental when we knocked a glass off the table and it broke on the floor and made a mess. Staff very helpful in cleaning it up.
This is a great spot for date night or dinner with friends. The food is fresh and delicious, beautifully plated and served by friendly yet professional wait staff. The wine list is amazing and they have a nice selection of cocktails too. This place is popular, so it's a good idea to make reservations.
Great New Year’s Eve Prix Fixe dinner and wine pairing.
New Years Eve at Back Bistro was fabulous. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. We had a wonderful dining experience. I've been to Back Bistro many times and it's reliably delicious!
Both my wife and I were quite disappointed with our first experience at Back Bistro. The food was only passable in quantity and taste. I had salmon with a touch of mashed potato and four small slices of yellow squash. The piece of salmon was so small my wife wanted me to send it back, but we were with another couple and I didn’t want to embarrass them. The service was only acceptable. She was always apologizing for the late arrival of our orders. Our total bill came to approximately $166.00, including an appropriate tip. Far to much for the experience.
Our server was excellent and the food was really good as well.
We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was terrific. She chose the special of the day which was a bacon wrapped filet and it was cooked to perfection. I chose the short ribs and they were the best short ribs I have eaten! The waitress was correct: the fat is removed from the short ribs before they are cooked and they were very tasty. We had a superb dinner and Jamie, the waitress, was outstanding!
It wasn’t what it used to be. Portions were smaller, food was just okay. Used to be a 5, today was a 2 at best. $250 for two with tip
Showed up early for a 745 reservation and was seated early, Brian, our waiter, was simply fantastic and the food, as always, was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and helps each other out.
Great job at wrangling a party of 8 crazy co-workers who are fun, loud and picky. Service was awesome and food was delicious. We had a great time - thank you.
Great meal. Went to lunch with girlfriends and it was quiet and the service was great!
The inside is beautiful and visually appealing. The service was excellent- attentive to the water glass, great suggestions etc. We didn't feel rushed, but we never wondered where our server went either. The food was delicious, the serving sizes were appropriate, the dishes looked as good as they tasted. The specialty drinks were fabulous. If you have never been- go. If you have been- go back ;)
I loved being able to have a reservation. We were seated right as soon as we walked in. The bruschetta was amazing. A little on the loud side, but a very nice ambiance. We will definitely go back.
I’m sad to share that Back Bistro is the worst restaurant I’ve dined at in a long time. It is attractive, and that is the only good thing about it. The food just was not good - strange texture on the fish and chicken , bland pasta and a flatbread that was soggy and missing a number of ingredients listed on the menu. Very disappointing for that price.
