Kailua"s popular Baci Bistro serves "European cuisine with an Italian flair". The menu, full of many fresh local ingredients, includes favorites like Ravioli d’ Aragosta (lobster ravioli), Linguine Nere con Capesante (squid ink pasta with scallops, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in a saffron cream sauce) and Saltimbocca di Vitello (layers of veal, fresh mozzarella, sage and prosciutto in a white wine sauce). Baci Bistro is rather intimate, with an old-world atmosphere reminiscent of Rome and Florence. Guest have the option of dining inside with its atrium setting, on the covered lanai, or at the food bar where they can sit and watch the pantry chef work thier culinary magic.

A little concern about the table because they wanted to put us outside, which means being right on the street, plus it was cool. After a bit of negotiating (they were not especially gracious), we were able to sit inside. Our server, Gabriel, was terrific as was the pear salad and our mains. Would go back in a minute, but indicate I want an inside table.

My favorite restaurant in Kailua. You could easily think you are somewhere in Europe, the food, the setting, even the staff make it an authentic experience.(Unless you have a table of loud American tourists that night of course :-)

Gnocchi and the Chicken Masala were good. Red wine was served too warm and rather old, the white wine was good. We wanted inside seating but were brushed aside. The waiter was good at first but seemed to forget about us to take care of a larger group.

My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate my birthday last night. We were told the specials and decided to get the ravioli of the day, which was four cheese. Upon getting our food we noticed bits of meat and shellfish Inside the ravioli. My boyfriend has a mild shellfish allergy and I don’t eat meat. The server was very apologetic and got us our correct plates, we were brought the lobster ravioli AGAIN! So the third time we ordered, the server said the ravioli bins have been mixed up in the back (lobster and four cheese) and now pulled from the menu. We ordered something different all together. The food was very good, service was great. But I don’t understand how a restaurant can make that mistake not once, but twice. Luckily, he only had a few bites, none containing lobster, but did experience symptoms. This is careless and dangerous to not know what you are serving to your guests.

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Food quality has greatly diminished since new owner. All 3 Veal dishes were tough, grisly and underseasoned. Salads OK. Stick with the pasta dishes. Excellent desserts and service remain.

Made Open Table reservation early and were seated outside but at the worst table facing a wall. There were nicer tables open. The patio area is well worn but the restaurant interior looked nice. There is no view so indoor seating is fine. I chose a Tuscan wine off their reserve list but they did not have it so dropped back to a second choice. Started with their pear salad. A bit overdressed and too much gorgonzola but OK. I ordered the fish of the day, which was salmon with pasta and pesto sauce. Pesto was not the vibrant green fresh should be. But salmon was very nicely cooked. My wife did like her linguine with clams. Overall acceptable meal but not on par with the $110 bill (no dessert).
