Fabulous food and incredible service. We will be back
Service was excellent and the prawn ravioli very delicious
Quite day but staff very helpful, wine choice recommended was good even let me have a taste of each so I could choose
Last minute booking. Seating perfect. Wine list was comprehensive and food was lovely. We both had separate entree of pasta and then shared a main course. The staff were very helpful staff and nothing was too hard for them.
This was my second visit to Bacco Osteria and I must say the second was just as good as the first. Ever mindful of the time frame of the theatre patron's needs it was a perfectly synchronised from beginning to end. Never invasive, always attentive. The theatre menu is an absolute winner. The price is very reasonable. The maitre d' is expertly knowledgeable on all things gastronomic and certainly knows his wines. It is always a pleasure dining there and I look forward to my next sojourn into the city so that I may make my way to their door again.
Food was delicious. Go to dish is the lamb ragu and the almond tart with seasonal fruits was divine.
Menu well balanced and showcases fine Italian tastes. The antipasto was great to share and snapper was beautiful as was the beef.
Good selection of wines, beer and other drinks were available.
The service was very good and attentive and at no time did we feel rushed to leave.
Finishing the evening with a glass of baccocello was special. Thanks.
Relaxed atmosphere, superior service and food was delish!!!! Definitely coming back
This was a very disappointing meal, not just for us but everyone else in the restaurant. Our wine did not arrive, only one entree arrived and at the same time as our mains. My main was raw and cold. The whole restaurant appeared to be in chaos.
I wouldn’t have been surprised had Basil Fawlty and Manuel been running the kitchen. Abysmal service and food of really average quality. The table next to ours ordered starters that never arrived prior to their main course, one of which (lamb) needed to be returned to the kitchen for being virtually raw. When the staff know you are a pre theatre booking and demand you being out inside 2 hours anyway service needs to be materially speedier. Nor should I need to go to the front desk to settle the bill. The only advantage of the slow service was I was prevented from attempting to consume any dessert. Avoid
Bacco is convenient for a pre-concert meal. Service was friendly & helpful, accommodating one person not turning up. However, the calamari fritti could have been drained more. The pasta special could have used a little more of the sea blight & sea urchin roe, and a little less butter for my taste.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience last month at Bacco.
The food was not only tasty but generously portioned.
The service was attentive and professional.
We would definitely recommend this restaurant in the city.
Our group of seven were well looked after as we celebrated our daughter's graduation.
Good food and service. But the noise levels are very high and made it difficult to converse.
I wonder when restaurant designers will realise that fitouts comprised of wholly of hard surfaces and nothing to absorb sound make dining uncomfortable.
The food just doesn't deserve a better rating. Not good enough for the price.
Service was phenomenal. The lady who served us was extremely engaging the entire time and had thorough knowledge of the menu.
Low stars for food itself, as a party of 4 we ordered 4 entrees, 4 mains and additional sides to share and sampled it all. The only dish that we thoroughly enjoyed was the Lamb Ragyu, it was delicious, flavours and meat tenderness were spot on.
Stracciatella w/ scapece, crochettes, calamari, the pistachio gnocchi and the wagyu tagliata were some of our dishes and all were very edible but lacked flavour and were extremely bland.
Disappointing considering the high price for such small serves. Happy to pay the money if the food is worth it, however it was an underwhelming meal.
Music volume was a bit too high for us in the corner of the restaurant.
Problems in the kitchen resulted in long delay to get our meals, yet we were kindly offered a free shared plate for entree.
Delicious food and thoughtful and attentive service. Wait staff even overheard me mention it was my friend’s birthday and they surprised us with a tiramisu dessert with a candle.
Staff were wonderful & loved a bit of Stevie Wonder on the night. Food was delicious x
A great restaurant in the heart of the city with a relaxed vibe. Great food , home made pasta & fabulous desserts will bring us back for other great nights at Bacco osteria .
We dined at Bacco Osteria with some colleagues for a birthday. We all really enjoyed our food, although two of us made the comment that the pasta serves could have been a bit bigger. Food is somewhat pricey, but it's to be expected for that location.
Would come here again.
Excellent atmosphere, great food and professional service. I would come back here again.
I've eaten at Bacco quite a few times and it is consistently excellent in every respect. The food is authentically Italian, simple, sophisticated and really enjoyable. The service is attentive and the people are friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great wine and drinks list, with many good wines available by the glass. The restaurant itself has a good welcoming ambience, and care is taken with seating and muted low key background music, making it a pleasure to dine well and to be able to hear one another without shouting ( unlike most CBD restaurants).
Squid carpaccio is disappointing, pork tomahawk is too salty, uni pasta is great but sea urchin is not fresh, has upset stomach later.
Only one chardonnay on the menu - and it was not in stock. Couldn't offer us a chardonnay alternative. Entrée was cannelloni of crab - very rich and cannelloni stuck to bottom of plate. Not nice. Main course was much better. Service very average. A lot of money for what it was.
We enjoyed our lunch but ticked it off our list. No need to return.
I always find this place to be worth the visit. Good food. Good wine and good company.
Service was quite good but I was given the desert menu 3 times instead of the wine menu. Small issue but surprising for a quality restaurant.
Food was delicious, we left with full bellies. My partner and I would have liked more options for bottles of Pinot Noir, there is only a Pinot Nero bottle on the menu. Overall, it was a great experience.
Excellent simple and distinctive Italian food in a unpretentious room- felt like being in Milan- with people passing by outside along Ash St. Plus the kitchen closes late. Best gnocchi I've ever had here or in years travelling in Italy. Great wine list and informed and specialist service. Molto sofisticato.
Good food and attentive service. Nice central location. We enjoyed our evening and the menu was reasonably priced. Only small fault sausage pasta was too salty. We would return
Delicious food great service love the location would come again
Smart city eat with lovely food and atmosphere, tucked down the alley of Angel Place. Polished service (very accommodating of our two children, 9, and 3, even being a more urbane dining room) and terrific food. Made for a special family venture into town pre-Christmas.
Great value for money with the set menu deal. A lot of variety and food provided. The only course there wasn't options for were the dessert. Only let down for the food overall was the fish of the day which lacked in flavour.
We sat at a table for two in the corner. There wasn't quite enough space to get in and out around the table and we were sat very close to a group of girls. As a result I wouldn't class this as great for a romantic dinner as you feel like you're sitting on others tables.
Good food and friendly service in the middle of the city
The food is amazing, very good quality however the experience was spoilt by the service. The wait staff were unfriendly, abrupt and didn't make you feel welcome - more like you were an inconvenience to them. It is such a shame as it ruins the overall experience.
It was nice but I resent the 1.5 hour time limit. You treat customers like crap when you do that. Food not as good as it was before though the side dishes were excellent. Aperol spritz was quite weak (follow the recipe on the bottle). Not so good value for money.
The food is presented beautifully, the flavours are well thought out - so the meal works
Service is attentive not obtrusive & you can gain attn as required
I will certainly be going again
Amazing food ... pasta out of this world. Staff usual warm professional service. Didn’t want it to end
Lunched there with a friend last week. When our bill arrived it had a 1.65% credit card surcharge amount added to the total before they even knew how we intended to pay. We told the waitress that we were intending to pay in cash so why the cc credit card surcharge to which she replied "that goes on every bill automatically and I can't change it because the manager's gone home". It might seem like a small thing but to us it left a bad taste and seemed a bit of a scam. The restaurant lacks ambience, the wine was very expensive and the food was ok. Disappointing. There are better restaurants in that area.
