Seafood here is amazing
They were quite behind on reservation and had alot of frustrated people. We had reservations and were seated about 20 minutes late. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited at the bar, however, the bartender took our order and walked by us multiple times refilling others drinks and serving others still before getting to our drinks. I still don't know what took so long and even after asking if he forgot about us, he said no but made no attempt to explain anything or reassure us. By the time our table was ready, he finally gave us our drinks, which was 30-40 minutes. He was not over worked and seemed to be fine taking care of all the other orders. Why take ours if he couldn't prepare the drink right that moment, and worse make us wait so long.
When we were going to be seated, the hostess and the seater didnt communicate correctly and the seater took another couple first instead of us. That made us have to wait another 10 minutes to clean another table.
No one apologized for this they just played it off. I was highly annoyed by the time we were seated.
Once we were seated a waiter named Nancy just so happened to over hear us saying we were going to ask for napkins once our waiter returned. She stopped and asked what she could do for us and if we needed anything else, and met our needs. She was the first person to show us concern, interest and value, and most importantly she was genuine.
Our water, Joe , also turned out to be delightful. he went above and beyond for us. I was unhappy with the drink I waited so long for at the bar. When I went to order a different drink, he offered to fix my drink instead which would save me money. He was honest and helpful and sincere and that was all we could ask for.
Aside from the understandable business for valentines and the other dissatisfying experiences....
THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL! And I would definitely recommend.
Food and service were of good quality. We waited about 40 minutes past our reservation time, but that's not too bad considering it was Valentine's Day.
Had a reservation. Waited half an hour, still not seated. It was Valentine's day, but you should know how to book for busy holidays so that your customers are seated at their reservation time. After half an hour, we left. Pretty much ruined our Valentine's day.
Everything was fine, except they overbooked. As long as you aren't going on a busy day, you will probably be okay. On Valentine's Day, people with a reservation were having to wait more than an hour to be seated.
Our reservations were for 7 pm. We waited in line for 20 minutes to even get up to the hostess desk. When we got there to check is...she snapped that we were 15 minutes late for our reservation. I explained that we had been in line for 20 minutes. I know it was Valentine's day...but they should have more staff at check in ...or have someone go down the long line to check on reservation status. Once seated which was another 30 minutes...the table service was wonderful as was the food.
It was on Valentines Day but we had our grandchildren with us and I wanted to have reservations so we didn’t have to wait around. We arrived a few minutes early and it was really crowded. We stood in line and then told them we had 6:45 reservations. The hostess was very nice and told us our table would be ready shortly. We were not seated until 7:25! Ridiculous! I went back up to her and said what is the issue? She said well you have 7 people. I said I also had reservations for 7 people. The manage never apologized or spoke to us at all. The hostess was very nice and because of her we actually were seated. The last time I went up to her she turned around and pointed to an empty table and said “that is their table”!!! We had a great waiter and service even being that crowded, but our fish was dry and overcooked.
Valentines. Crowded as expected but everything and everyone ran the restaurant like pros. Food was delicious.
I made reservations for 6:00 PM on St. Valentines Day and was seated promptly when got to the restaurant. The wait service was very good and as I have come to expect the food was delicious. We were not rushed by the staff to leave our table and enjoyed an excellent dinner.
Our server was great - it was Valentines Day but we had an early reservation- 5:45. They seated us immediately. All our food items were very good. Good fresh fish off the blackboard - we had snapper, rainbow trout and tile fish. Also a great crab dip and some fried shrimp. Benets were the dessert. When we left at 7:45 the plane was completely packed. Recommended.....similar to Pappadeaux but considerably less expensive.
Wonderful service and wonderful food. Server's recommendations were spot on.

Waitress was not at all engaging, just seemed to be going through the motion. Felt rushed to order as soon as we sat down. No waiter skills or just didn't care.

Great food and service. reserved my table using opentable, ang got a confirmation. upon arrival they could not find my reservation. I showed the confirmation I got via email, and they prioritized my seating on a aver busy Saturday night. Kudos to Babin's!

We dined at this location at lunch! My favorite fish is Golden Tile and they had that on the menu this particular day. We began our meal with a salad and the Crab Bisque....both were excellent! Our fish was pan broiled and topped with the Beneville Sauce and fried oysters. It was an awesome dish!

It was my birthday. Used open table app to get a reservation. We were charged for a dish we did not order. Waiter was making many mistakes on our order. We had an appointment for 7:15 and were sat at 7:35. Just a lot of missed points of service.

The table top was clean, but the seating was not wiped down. It was a round corner table. I think kids may have been sitting there before us. So lots of crumbs in the seat.
The hostess handled it promptly. Our server was excellent. He made great suggestions. My redfish was fabulous!
Everyone at the table was pleased with their food and drinks. Overall a really good dining experience.

We love the food at Babin’s Seafood- always good. I had broiled Rainbow Trout with lemon butter, crab and caper topping, my favorite. Their Greek salad and Dirty Rice are excellent.
For being New Year Eve dinner. Service was very decent and food delicious.
While our server was very friendly and good - the food is not worth it. My Maui Maui Blacken was the only bright spot on our meal. Our first mistake was ordering the Calamari - which the menu states as lightly fried - what it does not state is that it is mostly batter - it came out looking like Popeyes chicken, while that might increase the perception of volume and value - there is no real taste of Calamari. Also with the idea of Babin's been from the French Quarter - I was looking forward to their bread - it was also disappointing - even the waiter stated it needs a lot of butter to have any taste at all. We asked the waiter to remove the calamari from the table when it was still 3/4 full - we said we did not like it because it was too much batter - we said we were not complaining. Even so I was surprised a manager did not do a quality check to come back to make sure our experience was fine. My wife salmon was just ok. Next time we want seafood we will go back to Tobiuo Sushi Bar.
Our waitress was fine, but there was a piece of food in my mother's beer. Very disgusting! Also, her steak was very mediocre.
