From the start, this was not my usual experience at BABA.... First of all my friend turned up first, and had to wait for nearly 10 minutes for another waiter to notice her, as the one on the door was very busy texting on their phone. It was our first time visiting together as I had been raving about how good this restaurant was. We ordered dishes that we really like and had before, but they were not of the same quality I had experienced. We ordered 4 dishes. Two came and then there was a 15-minute delay before the next 2, which was unnecessary when the restaurant was completely empty. The staff texting, continued to text in the background throughout our lunch, and Lol, to top it all, a 12.5% tip was automatically added to the bill! I resented even the 5% that I did pay. Generally the experience was disappointing and I felt very embarrassed taking my friend there. I don't think I'll be back, despite it being a local favourite up until this experience.

Food was delicious but felt we were rushed from our table before our 2 hour slot was over as the waiter kept coming over half an hour before to remind us the table was needed back and kept doing this every 10 minutes

From the moment we arrived the service was amazing. A young Irish gentleman in the bar was so helpful, welcoming and had fantastic customer service. We had a drink in the bar then took our seats in the Map room (so chilled). Our meal was absolutely delicious with brilliant service from everyone. We were gifted vouchers from our daughter (who'd been before) as she knew we'd love Baba and she was right. We will most definitely be back. Thank you for a great day celebrating my husbands 60th birthday ♡

Great food and cocktails however it’s card only and didn’t know until we arrived, they said they would take cash but wouldn’t give change and they seemed extremely annoyed about it.

Great food, good choice and really tasty. Good service to start with, but after a shift change, we were basically ignored and not offered any more drinks. I had to go to the till area and stand and wait to try and pay the bill. Eventually had to ask a member of staff who was sitting on a laptop if I could pay the bill. We were one of only 3 occupied tables in the restaurant at this time so it wasn’t because they were busy. Disappointing end to a great meal. Stayed for drinks in the bar afterwards and the service there was good.

The tastiest food I’ve had in a very long time. We were looked after like Queens. Garlic allergy was facilitated as if we had our own personal chef. A truly wonderful experience 5⭐️

Fabulous lebanese inspired food. Fabulous hummus, baba, labne, pita, lamb, whole bream. Really wonderful flavors, presented beautifully, great spices.

Baba is a great place to eat Mediterranean flavours, in a nice atmosphere, all plates were delicious, we loved the grilled sea bass and the chargrilled sweet potato !

For a light lunch before we went to spa for a swim, 3 mezzes and one side was enough to share for us. You get a naan bread each. Rose wine was lovely although I asked for two small glasses and we got given and charged for two large (175ml) ones. Hummus and lemon and baba ganoush dip lovely. cauliflower side OK but too spicy for me. Staff a bit too quick to take away plate as i was still mopping up sauce, Spa day with lunch pretty good deal

Great meal, lovely fresh sea bream with interesting selection of veggies. We arrived an hour before our booking and the lady on the desk was very helpful in finding a table in a quiet area of the Kimpston hotel about 45 mins early. Highly recommend this on a visit to Edinburgh.

Baba - one of my top restaurants in Edinburgh. Police friendly customer service from staff always. Food is incredible, flavours explode in your mouth. As a person who suffers from anosmia, flavour can lack, and I miss out on the smell sensation sadly. But thankfully, the taste for me is always there.

Our waitress was lovely and very helpful in advising us about dishes. Most of the food were really good; the dishes looked great and tasted fantastic. The only let-down was the coffee that was burnt and undrinkable. However the waitress immediately took it off the bill.

It was OK. Food was great but after 8, we were moved into a noisy and empty bar as we’d been at our dinner table for two hours. We should have been told when we ordered our last drink that we’d have to move 10 mins later. The bar was soulless and loud

Absolutely delicious! We had an early dinner and it was quite. The server recommended 6 dishes for the two of us. We ordered 5 and 4 would have been plenty. The chargrilled broccoli, chuck-eye steak and blackened sweet potato were excellent! The prosecco fizz was also very yummy! Would absolutely go again!

AMAZING meal for the price. We were able to try so many dishes we hadn't had before. We got 3 sides, 2 meat entrees, and 2 desserts all for less than 100 pounds. Staff were excellent as well and helped with recommendations. Couldn't recommend this place more. It was the best meal we had in Edinburgh!
