Excellent as always!
B&B butcher was excellent. My wife and I were celebrating a special occasion and decided to try a new place. The menu is more extensive than I thought it would be and heavily features bacon. They did have east coast oysters which were an excellent change of pace to the usual gulf oysters most places have. The steaks were delicious and the sea bass was excellent. The cous cous under the fish was too heavily salted and we couldn’t eat it. Deserts were typical steakhouse fare.
My son’s steak was poor quality. I didn’t notice until the end of the meal. He definitely should have sent it back. My husband and I shared a beefsteak tomato and onion salad. The tomatoes had almost no flavor. When our onion rings arrived they were cold. The one of the best part of the evening was the service. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable.
The valet was polite. The food was amazing. Service could not be beaten. And there was bacon!
Was actually disappointed- heard a lot about the restaurant and was really wanting to try it. Called ahead week before and asked for a nice table as it was a birthday celebration - was sat next to the bar and stairs. Astros game was on the tv and “bar patrons” were yelling out. Traffic continuously walking by table, service slow, wasn’t offered bread, and honestly the steaks were not the best I’ve had on any level. I’ve eaten at Vic and Anthony’s and Vallone’s where the steak was excellent and service impeccable. Most likely will not go back and will let the department planner know we may want to move our holiday lunch, too many excellent, consistent restaurants where a $400 tab takes you a long way down the service and quality road
Very impressed with our waiter Daniel and everything else about the place! We were telling friends about it immediately! Will be back!
Great food, great service! We love eating at B&B
Love the bacon appetizer.
I went to b&b with my fiancée to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was amazing, helpful, and friendly. I will definitely come back in the future.
My guest and I are both award winning bacon Food Champions so we know a thing or two about our bacon. We were very excited to try B&B while she was in town this week. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the restaurant with three courses of bacon! The Colorado lamb bacon served with a lightly dressed arugula salad and coarse mustard is off the chain delicious and the expertly smoked slab bacon is cooked to perfection. You have to try the chef’s special slab bacon served with warm blue cheese and honey! It’s Slap your mama good! The service is impeccable and atmosphere warm and cheery! Loved our experience!
The food was great. My steak was done to perfection. Anything with their bacon is excellant. Service was top notch.
awesome dinner with great service! the food here is ridiculous! bacon, steaks and even rocking deserts! yummy!
We were celebrating a birthday, the entire staff went out if their way to make sure we had a great time. Absolutely great Service
The wait staff seemed a bit stuffy. Not very friendly, while professional, but yet a bit standoffish.
Amazing as per the usual. Full review on trip advisor.
Went for Sunday brunch. Great options. Very large portions. Great for sharing. Service was good. As they got busier service slowed a little but we weren't in a hurry and never felt rushed. Live music on the upstairs outdoor patio was a nice touch. Would definitely go back and recommend it to others.
Atmosphere was great, very warm and relaxing. Steak was ok. Wagu dry aged ribeye lacked seasoning and was surprisingly fatty...didn’t feel it was worthy of the price. Cocktails at the bar were expertly crafted.
Long wait between courses. Bone-in Ribeye Steaks were undercooked, tough and very bland - no taste period.
This was an exceptional experience. The food was great, very flavorful and tasty and cooked just right.
Great service and ambiance.
Dessert was also delicious - bread pudding!
Excellent food and service. Richard was our waiter and took great care of our group!
Seated near restroom and a wait station. I kept getting bumped by servers. The tablecloth was also very worn looking. Not expected in this price range.
I always enjoy the food and as always it was well prepared and served, but the table brought our experience down several notches.
The food was just okay which was disappointing because it is pricey. The appetizer, which consisted of 3 shrimp wrapped with crab meat and bacon, was $26 and the bacon was seriously under cooked. The $36 filet was good but ordinary. The side of mushrooms was very gloppy and contained several mushrooms that were too tough and chewy to eat. For those of you who might be lactose intolerant, B&B does not offer any non milk alternatives like almond, soy or coconut "milk".
We visited here for happy hour. The food on the HH menu is tasty, but not filling. I would recommend just having food off the dinner menu.
This is a steakhouse, and the steaks are delicious. The prices are well in excess of other local restaurants but in line with other steakhouses.
The ambience is very nice, and the size is a good size -- not too large.
The service was amazing, they anticipate every need that you may have. The food is a bit bland.
We celebrated my wife ‘s birthday that started out with a party of 6 that grew to 8, the restaurant handled the additional 4 without a glitch. Ryan our server was great very attentive. Food was great Carpetbagger appetizer was a big win for the group.
The food was great, the service was wonderful, but the noise level was obnoxious. Will not be back unless we hear that it is remedied somehow. I wish we had known ahead of time.
Like most places on Washington Ave. Given over to folks under 30 loud and bright- good service- but if you want a lower noise level and something a little calmer go someplace else. Tables are tightly packed- hard to hear the conversation at your table. We were seated next to a group of young men drinking a lot and talking loudly and boisterously singing- our party of four did not enjoy that as we tried to talk and celebrate a birthday at our table. Yes, we are older maybe we just needed to go someplace else. And politically given the just viewed Senate hearing featuring an over-privileged male use to winning and whining having his way and behaving allegedly in a loud bullying drunken manner we really did not appreciate the table next to ours.
Everything was delicious and service was great. It definitely is one of the most expensive night outs we have had in a long time but so worth it to celebrate our friend's big birthday. The trio bacon app is amazing and the filet with carpet bagger topping is sinful! Come hungry and don't count calories! Try the open-faced ice cream sandwich for a fun dessert. We couldn't have been happier with our evening.
Birthday dinner, everything was lovely.
One of the best places to get a steak in Houston, In my opinion it's better than Steak 48. Price point is high but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately I couldn't try the 55 dry aged steak as it was sold out that night, but the turkey bacon was amazing. we plan to go back in a few weeks to try out the dry aged meats.
The service was great but our table was too small and too close to the tables on each side of us. The scallops were okay, they could have had more flavor. Our steak was good but not worth the price and the Brussel sprouts were just okay as well. The price you pay for the food was not worth it.
I went for lunch and had the steak salad. It seemed priced a bit high for what you get. The steak was quite good. I don't know that I would judge the place based on my lunch experience. It's definitely a beef eaters paradise.
The hostess who helped set up our friends birthday dinner was amazing. Alex, our server, was absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be requesting him again soon. We can’t wait to come back!
Dinner with my brother. What an experience! Bacon 3-way and carpet bagger appetizers were so good and unique. Bone-in filet and Butcher’s Butter with creamed spinach and corn soufflé was worth every penny. We cannot wait for our next meal!
This restaurant was amazing and Eric our server was great. He was great, very attentive and just made my group feel warm and inviting. The food was outstanding best land chops I have ever had.
Service was excellent. Wagyu beef was phenomenal. Mac and cheese top notch and the thick cut bacon appetizer just became a favorite
Came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s 30th birthday while visiting Houston. After nearly 90 minutes at our 2-top we had only received one round of cocktails and our salads. Then both our wagyu steaks came out significantly underdone and had to be sent back. The table next to us also had issues with the temps of their steaks which had to be sent back as well. Service was extremely uneven. The server was very attentive to the table next to us regarding their steaks but she was nowhere to be found when ours were delivered by a runner and were incorrect. In fact, after sitting there for more than a few minutes unable to catch the attention of any waitstaff I had to get up and walk a few tables over to ask for assistance. In the end, we decided to forego the entrees altogether as we were frustrated and had lost confidence in eventual quality of our $82 wagyu steaks. We paid the full $80 (before tip) for our two cocktails, two salads, and two sides. Meanwhile the table next to us (also celebrating a birthday) were served a platter of multiple desserts, compliments of the chef. Overall an extremely disappointing experience - especially on what should be an exciting occasion!
We went here for my birthday. Let me start by saying that the server was great from start to finish. Everything was absolutely wonderful but definitely the standout was the corn soufflé, and my husband loved the garlic mashed potatoes. Of course, both of our steaks were amazing and cooked perfectly. The chef was happy to sub in broccoli for asparagus in my Oscar topping which was SO amazing!! I didn’t order the chocolate cake but the bought it to me anyway when the waiter found out it was my birthday with a candle. I’m so glad he did because talk about awesome... it was better than the dessert I actually ordered which was still very good!! I have nothing but good to say here! And the wine list... I could on for days!! We will definitely be back !!
We took our 2 grown children along with spouses/significant others for an early dinner. The food and service were outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and it was quite enough for good conversation. I would highly recommend B & B Butchers and look forward to returning......😋
