B&B Butchers & Restaurant - Houston

The food was good, the wine was good, the appetizer and sides were small portions.
Come here often, although not as much as we used to. Food was excellent as always. Service was a little disinterested, but not enough to lodge a complaint.
Beautiful day on the upstairs patio for brunch.
Carpetbaggers to die for.
Decent wine list, great service.
We have visitted B&B for Lunch and Dinner in the past and enjoyed our experiences. We went to Sunday Brunch this weekend and the price was reasonable, service and facility was great but the food was mediocre at best. The breakfast Wagyu Skirt Steak was was tender but flavorless (no seasoning) and the eggs were overcooked. My wife had the Carpet Bagger on the Half Shell appetizer which she said was very good. She had Bagel w/Lox for her entree and she said she could have opened a package of salmon at home from the grocery store that would have been equal. The menu indicated it would be served with Traditional Accoutrements, but there were no hard boilded eggs like most restuarants. The plate looked bland with no presentation. The presentation for both our plates was not impressive. We ordered a pancake to split between us and it was served on a cold plate and therefore was cold and not impressive. On the good side, the steak and egg plate was very hot, which in my opinion, is required to serve hot food. I can't say we will not go back, but probably not for Brunch.
Tables tooooo close to each other
Delicious steaks, service always on point. Our favorite steakhouse.
Food was excellent. We sat outside on the terrace and it was very nice. Not too noisy. Perfect! Service was also wonderful. Absolutely no complaints. Great evening.
Our food was attractive and very tasty (though we weren't fond of the spiciness of one of the breads offered) and the service was superb — timely, professional, exceptionally pleasant and enjoyable (thank you, Ryan and Yanik!). The ambiance is pleasant and it was obvious that other customers were also having an enjoyable dinner. It's not inexpensive — more of a special-night-out than a routine dinner place — but the overall experience is every bit what one would expect for that expenditure. With its accessibility to downtown and a shuttle service that can get one to the theater district (or elsewhere), it's definitely a great date night location. We very much look forward to our next visit.
As always...great food, great service.
Kind Wait staff
My favorite steakhouse in Houston! Amazing food, service, great wine list.
Always a great experience here..the lemon drop martini is on point and the bacon never disappoints.
Exceptional service, atmosphere, and food! I highly recommend for a birthday celebration or a romantic date. Perfect for foodies. Lamb bacon is a must-try.
Food and service were great. Space in downstairs dining area was too crowded for our table of 6. Very little room between tables! Wait staff were challenged with serving our drinks and meals.
We had an awesome experience here! The carpetbaggers are amazing, the steak cuts are so tender and delicious and well worth the price! My boyfriend said the creme brûlée was “life changing” and it certainly was. The service was great as well! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an enjoyable meal!!
The food was very bland and not flavorful. The steak, appetizers and sides were very forgettable
Our waiter was awesome...it was our first time at B&B..we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday & he loves himself a good steak!!! He loved the steak he had, so did I...I will definitely come back...yes, it’s pricey but it is worth it if you enjoy steak and the ambiance...On that note: chocolate cake was to die for!!!
Always great service and food quality
A nice place with excellent food and good service but very noisy and expensive.
One of the best restaurants in houston as far as the food. Outstanding!!! It is cool ambiance but it is VERY loud. We sat upstairs which is very cool but it was literally freezing!!! Bring a jacket or a wrap!!!
Best steak I ever had. The waiter was very knowledgeable about all the cuts, as well as everything else on menu. Highly recommend!!
The best steakhouse in Texas!!!
B&B is my favorite restaurant to take clients.
Restaurant is wonderful and service is just top notch! One small hiccup though we waited a long time for our table with a confirmed reservation, when they sat us down the table had been empty for a while so we didn't understand why we had to wait. Anyhow, the service and food are completely outstanding!
Extremely disappointed with the amateurish service and poorly cooked food. Not even close to worth what we paid. What a shame.
Excellent service. Beef was exceptional
Amazing brunch menu! Great value!
I don’t know the gentleman name but he has been in the restaurant game since the 70s or 80s. We had brunch for my sister birthday and my mom and aunt were with us. Well when the gentleman came to our table to see how we were and he spoke my aunt and moms eyes lit up because this was the gentleman their father ,my grandfather, would support throughout Houston when he owned his own restaurant. Enough said they were through the moon. It’s their favorite restaurant now. I also can’t say enough about our waiter he was awesome as well. I never have a bad experience here. Thank you
Date night with my husband.
We really enjoyed the food and our server was excellent. The only complaint we had was the music being turned up as the night went on. I don't like to shout at my husband to hear over the voices of other people AND music, especially when the chosen music didn't add to the ambiance. Whatever the play in the ladies' room was much better suited.
This was literally the best steakhouse I have been to, hands down. It’s a hidden gem off Washington in an old brick building. Service was awesome, not pushy at all with their menu or beef selection. We had originally wanted to do a tasting menu, but decided less is more. Our waiter was super accommodating and gave excellent recommendations . We know meat and have been to many steakhouses in Houston, so we knew we weren’t being fed a sales pitch. They are super knowledgeable on their products and proud of what they put out. We sat in a booth next to the kitchen where you can see directly into the salamander oven where all the meat is seared etc. also all the amazing looking food that was coming out. The smells were out of this world. We were there for the hubs 30th, so we splurged on the 12oz 35 day dry aged Kobe Beef from Japan. It was an experience for the books folks. If possible, try that once in your life. We split it and were still struggling to finish because it was so rich and Devine. I am seriously looking forward to when I can go back and have another eye opening experience. This place will not disappoint.
Went for our anniversary.
Outstanding waiter, well trained, attentive but annoyingly so, and very personable.
Steaks were fine. I can't say they were anything special.
We were on the top deck all by ourselves and had a great view of downtown.
The food quality and variety of selections were both excellent. The only thing I would suggest for improvement would be to offer freshly squeezed juices.
Locked the bacon appetizer. it was great with the tomato and onion salad with poached chicken
Horrible seat by the exit door for a bday celebration.
Food was ok. Steak was nice; lobster was mealy. Tables are too close together in my opinion. My back was touching the back of a person at the adjacent table. Noise was limiting our conversation. We could hear the 3 tables around us conversations in detail. Won't go back, not worth it.
The wagyu steak was very tough for medium rear
It was our first time visiting B&B Butchers and we were so impressed. I wanted to go somewhere special for my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The waiter was very informative and answered all of our questions to help us pick the best cuts of steak. Don’t pass up the option for bacon as an appetizer, it’s not something to be missed. The bread, side dishes and desserts rivaled the fabulous steaks.
My husband found this place to celebrate our anniversary. The worst thing that can happen at a HIGH END place like this. The fact that the restroom was not working!! Not good for the ladies. My green salad hand no taste just a bowl full of greens with a lil dressing. My steak was very COOKED, I ask for medium well it was more raw. Had to send it back. The bake potatoes was old & brown inside when we cut them opened. Then you place your own toppings in them yourself. After spending $200 I don’t think we will be going back. After reading most of these reviews, SEEMS alike they have a plumbing issue that needs a lot of attention to. This is a big Embarrassment to such a high end place like this.
great bar, great food and great service ! Stuffed shrimp appetizer was really good!
