Come to Azuki once a year for my wife's birthday bc it's a fancy expensive place. We had a reservation at 8 on a Saturday night. When we arrive we got seated right away and place was fairly busy. We started off with appetizer and some sake. Then we went to order the backend cod. Waitresses came back and said they are out of steam rice for the side and asked if we would just like the fish with out the rice and we said sure. Then a few minutes later they came back and said sorry they are out of cod. So I order Hamachi kama they were out of that as well. A sushi place that was out of rice and 3 entrees. Then one of the rolls we got was disgusting. We had enough and decided to leave. Will never return. So disappointing. Freaking sushi joint that is out of rice.

I was visiting San Diego this weekend and my daughter and I felt like sushi. I checked out the Best of San Diego magazine’s restaurant nominees for Sushi and saw Azuki Sushi Lounge at the top of the list. We were able to secure a reservation for 5:30, one of the few remaining, and outside. Fortunately they had gas heaters to make it comfortable because it was cool and breezy. We started with the Buta and Nira steamed dumplings and then ordered the Kobe, Super Dragon and the Blue Crab California roll. My daughter really enjoyed her Dragon roll, but I think the real star was the Kobe. Absolutely stellar. Highly recommend. Service was average. I would absolutely return for the Kobe alone.

Good food, subpar service! I made a reservation for my sisters birthday and asked if they could do something special. When we checked in for our table, the hostess acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday but our server didn’t even make any mention of it. Our server didn’t insisted we do a full table of green tea refills (6) but didn’t mention it was all an extra charge. By the way she mentioned it, we thought they were complimentary, instead we ended up paying $42 just for green tea. Unfortunately, i was highly disappointed with the level of service. Not the place to go for a special celebration, but more of an every day date night.

Azuki Sushi never disappoints! The fish is super fresh and everything tastes amazing. You can tell they put a lot of care into every dish. The vibe is cozy but lively, and the service is always friendly and quick. Definitely recommend the specialty rolls — they’re packed with flavor and beautifully plated. Perfect spot for a casual night out or a sushi craving you want done right. One of my go-to places for sure!

The service was very efficient. We received our drink orders almost immediately. Our sushi rolls that we ordered came out quickly as well. We were able to get seated, order, and dine within about 30 minutes and not feel rushed.

I have been to many sushi restaurants including many in Japan! My impresión? A bit bland. This place has potential. Its not bad, but not excellent eather. Given other options in the city would not return. Good for just one time.

Food not as good as it used to be. Noticed a few new faces prepping the food.Bonsai roll this time around was very disappointing. Calamari and Shoshito peppers, way too oily. Service is always great!
