   Great small & quaint space. The food was really good. The chef is french & they serve small plates to share. We loved the watermelon salad & the citrus salad with goat cheese. The homemade lobster & corn ravioli was delicious! the hanger steak really good as well as the pork roast. Had the blackberry cobbler with ice cream for dessert. All really good. The wine is extremely reasonable & lots of selection. We will be bringing our friends back here!

   I had an amazing dinner with my family. My grandmothers 95th birthday was so special. The food and atmosphere was incredible.

   Some of the worst food I’ve had in a long time. Hanger steak that was sliced paperthin and laid out like carpaccio with three gnocchi. A most unappetizing looking plate. I citrus salad that you could not find the citrus anywhere. The cake for dessert was passable. But for $60 this was a joke.

   Interesting concept that could be great IF the front staff was more interested in the customer experience. Sommelier? Sorry to inconvenience your drinking session with your mates at the bar. Still excellent food. Menu design could use a little tweaking for more veg options.

   Servings, even if described as shareable, are minuscule. Got a cheese and chart to try to make it a meal--not much cheese, dab of jam and a button of quince. Good but overpriced wine by glass. Has potential, but must give value or sink like its L' Olivier predecessor.

   If you want a lunch venue, I do not believe you should pick Avondale. It's menu for food (at lunch time, at least) is very small, and the place is dead on a Thursday. I was looking for somewhere with a pleasant vibe for a casual business meeting. From 12-2pm, there was literally no one else there, and it was awkward. I've decided to give Avondale 3/5 across the board, apart from ambiance, which I am giving it 1/5. The food was ok, the service was average at best. Being honest, I suspect it might be better in the evening. But for Thursday lunch... You can do better.
