    The food was great and the wine list although small, pairs well with the dishes. The seafood dishes were great and the octopus very well prepared. The service was great too, friendly but not overbearing

    as always the rooftop was spectacular and the drinks were terrific. The Mezzas were good but the lamb chops were a disappointment. I come here maybe 6/x year so i know what to expect. I think they've changed suppliers b/c the chops this time were too thin, very fatty and had no after-grilling spices. worse yet, the chops were cooked on a grill which was too hot.

He doesn’t just serve tables; he curates an experience. Bobby gets it. He understands that a memorable night out isn’t just about the food (though the food is amazing); it’s about how you’re treated. From the moment you’re seated, Bobby makes you feel like a VIP—warm, attentive, and always one step ahead without ever hovering. It’s the little things: remembering drink preferences, timing courses just right, even reading the energy of the table and adjusting accordingly. What makes Bobby exceptional is that every guest gets this treatment. You can tell he believes in giving people a night to remember—not just a meal to eat. That mindset is rare, and it’s why we’ll keep coming back. Avli is lucky to have him. If you’re going, do yourself a favor: ask for Bobby. You’ll leave full, happy, and feeling like you just had the best night out in the city.

    I am always pleased with our dining experience at Avli on The Park. Last night we were so disappointed to discover dogs up on the rooftop bar and dining area. Two dogs almost knocked us over running up the interior stairs of the restaurant. As a survivor of a brutal dog attack, this was very triggering for me. We were looking forward to enjoying the beautiful outdoor dining space and the rooftop bar. I believe dogs only lessen the experience there. I hope there will be a time when there are no dogs in the space. :-(

    Food, service, and ambience were excellent. We had an early reservation for Father's Day dinner. Hope to go back the next time we are in Chicago! Outdoor seating in great weather topped the experience off!

    We had brunch there which involves a more limited menu. The food was tasty but the menu was limited. I would have preferred more lunch selections at 2:30 pm. The spanikopita was underbaked on the bottom, then placed on a substantial bed of tzatiki which made it even more soggy. Better to put the sauce on the side because then one can dip the pieces and it wouldn't fall apart. The gem salad was good, a take on a Caesar salad. The watermelon feta salad was good. Elsewhere I've had that salad with honey lime dressing and mint. Avli's version included diced cucumber and red onion which actually was a nice change. Very refreshing. The pita served with the dips was warm and was very good. The dips were good too. The cocktail with blueberries, lime and basil was good but was made inconsistently between the two I ordered. The second was even better because there was more of the mixer in it. Still a very nice alternative to alcohol. My spouse drank the cocktail which included the match tea and it was very good and different. We thank the restaurant for including such nice mock drinks on the menu.... not too sweet and very interesting. Overall I think this is a good place to eat but not my favorite Greek restaurant in Chicago.
