Very enjoyable first experience! The atmosphere is cool: a quaint, yet funky kinda retro vibe. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating, and our server, Phillip, was probably the best I’ve ever experienced! ... Super friendly, upbeat, and attentive without hovering. The menu is eclectic, and our two different entrees (steak frites and chicken over mashed potatoes) were delicious and not overpriced... which is refreshing compared to many other downtown restaurants. The bar is kinda small, but it’s a full bar and I was impressed by their choice of which craft beers to serve with only four taps. We definitely will dine there again.

Loved it. Super cool and funky. Great food. Distracted service - our first course and entrees arrived simultaneously. Drink service similar. Good Negroni, though. Will definitely return.

Having been a regular patron for a year and Ravi g about the Aux Bar in past reviews, I am disappointed that it seems to be slipping. The roast beef po boy is much less generous and I’m not even sure if fried onions are still being added on the sandwich. The onion soup which has been the best in town tends to be too salty and the cheese not always browned on top. Here’s hoping Stephen Goff recalibrated back to his old standards. The waiter was pleasant but food did not arrive timely for all diners and orders were confused.

Waitress was great even though they were short staffed. Food and drinks came out quickly. I had the catfish and grits which was delicious but we were not totally happy with steak frites. We reviewed the menu before going due to my fiancé having some food restrictions to find that the menu was different from the one posted which limited what we could order. Still a really cool spot for a quick bite

We took the three course option they had. My wife and I shared the delicious hummus and the pimento cheese and pork rinds. She had the catfish and grits and I had the pork shoulder and collards. Both were outstanding. Our only disappointment was the dessert. We chose the vanilla ice cream and the smoked apple pie-like dessert. Our server was an absolute delight and we look forward to our next visit there.

It is a fun and funky place, with food that was fairly good. However, their shortcomings outweighed that. Service was snitty and unprofessional. We ordered two entrees that came out separately. When we questioned why, they said they were doing it tapas style. Except, they do not mention they are a tapas restaurant anywhere on the website or menu. Their explanation was that they had small items on the menu, so it was tapas style. When the second entree did come out, the steak ordered medium well was medium rare. When we mentioned that, the response was again snotty. The manager actually said that since they had red lights in the place, they couldn't tell the difference in the meat doneness. Mistakes happen, so a polite apology would have been acceptable and we would have been fine. But, a series of ridiculous excuses and surly attitudes make this a place to which we will not return and would never recommend.
