   I found the food to be quite underwhelming overall. We ordered the salad, cauliflower, duck, and burger. The cauliflower was overly spicy and completely deep-fried, which masked any real flavor of the vegetable. The duck was dry and overcooked, and the side it came with was drenched in an odd, overpowering sauce. At $58, it felt overpriced and disappointing. That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was great—welcoming and well-designed. I just wish the quality of the food matched the rest of the experience

   Hello Olga, Unfortunate to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience here with us! Our cauliflower normally receives high praise, so I wonder if the kitchen wasn't a little heavy handed in the seasoning, definitely something I will bring up to our chef. We'd love to have you back in to give us another opportunity to impress you, and we are changing a lot of our entrees coming up in the month of June, hopefully with something more to your flavor!    $48 for a pasta entree with no meat or fish was ridiculously overpriced. On a $360 meal when a patron asks for a little extra anchovy for her salad, there should NOT be an upcharge. Food was C+, cost was out of control. Hard as rock uncomfortable seating just topped off why we won’t be back

   Hey there Lisa. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience with us. We do our best to be pricing all of our items appropriately, having hand made pastas and local organic mushrooms, but we do value the feedback and are always making adjustments as needed. This is the first I've heard about our seats being uncomfortable but I will be sure to look into it. We're running half priced entrees from Sunday - Thursday until June and chef is always changing up the pasta dish, hopefully to something more to your liking if you decide to give us another shot.    Usually when anticipating a great meal, I begin eating with gusto, intensely enjoying the first few bites with diminishing returns as I work my way through the dish. What at first seemed to be the most delicious thing I've ever eaten soon becomes less so as my appetite becomes satisfied. Not so at Aurum! Every single bite was as good as the first. EVERY. SINGLE. BITE. I only stopped eating because I was too full to finish, but my taste buds wanted more. Never have I had such a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying experience. It's a shame we aren't local and can't eat here more often! Aurum Breckenridge was simply AMAZING! My wife and I started with the goat cheese & fig crispy polenta and Korean fried chicken appetizers. At first, they brought out Korean BBQ pork ribs instead of the chicken. No sooner had the server put the plate down did she recognize they'd made the wrong dish. Rather than taking the dish away and remaking the correct dish, she apologized for the mix-up, left the ribs, promised to get the correct appetizer, and removed the ribs from the bill. All three appetizers were phenomenal! The housemade kimchi that came with the ribs was top-notch! I've been craving it ever since. The Korean fried chicken with the buttermilk herb dressing was especially fantastic. For entrees, my wife ordered the Rocky Mountain Trout and I ordered the Joyce Farms Duck. There wasn't anything bad to say about either meal. Both were incredible. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. If we're ever in Breckenridge again, we'll certainly visit again!

   We usually love to visit Aurum, but this visit was less than spectacular. The service was mediocre, although our server was trying to do a great job. Most disappointing was that the food was underwhelming. We usually enjoy the creations at Aurum, but the vegetarian option was terrible (we didn't hardly eat any of it, and when we said that it wasn't very good, the staff just shrugged and took the plate away). Even the kids' mac & cheese was lack-luster (it used to be very good). Thankfully, we had a gift card and took advantage of the off-season specials, so we didn't have to pay much out of pocket. I don't think we'll go back (at least not anytime soon). We'll stick to our other local favorites. As a Breck local, I'd recommend several other dining experiences over Aurum.

   Some of our food was excellent, and the rest was very good. Wish I could have given 4.5 stars overall. Service was wonderful. Portions were generous. Savings on happy hour definitely helped. Will be back next time we’re in Breck.
