    My 2nd time. First time was outstanding all the way. This time not so much. A server nicely took our order and we never saw him again. We had mentioned we wanted to 'start' with the asparagus tart but everything else came out at the same time as well! Okay. Mussels were cool, not warm/hot; the scallops were very salty, so much so we couldn't eat them but did eat the rest of the items on the dish. The new server took the scallops off the bill, which we thanked her for. The smashed potatoes were not really hot when served either but they were tasty as was the tart. The dark chocolate mousse was terrific. Service was quite 'spotty'. Had to call people over for a refill of a drink, reminder for some chili flakes, extra bowl for mussel shells, which they did replace as one filled up. We had also ordered one othr item but it never came and we weren't charged for it. I might return another time I do not think my partner is intereested in returning.

    Our first time at Augustine and it was an outstanding experience. We had a party of nine for brunch after my daughter’s graduation. Every single thing we ordered was a winner. French toast with ricotta was a highlight. Others in our group raved about the smoked salmon tartine, the burger, and the Croque Madame. Crushed crispy potatoes and grilled flatbread for the table. Attentive service and a comfortable, stylish space.

    The restaurant is average, based on the hype around the launch I expected much better quality of food, options and vibe. The restaurant was empty for lunch time.

    Amazing food, drinks and wine list. We were a big group so we got to try a lot. The fried chicken and caviar was a treat! Delicious sides and apps, branzino has the best I’ve had. Would def go back!

    An Ode to the Opulent: Dining at Augustine, Santana Row’s Most Decadent Whisper There are restaurants you go to for sustenance and then there are those you enter like you’re stepping into a velvet-lined dreamscape, intent not on eating but on experiencing—and Augustine, the newly minted jewel box nestled into the architectural theater of Santana Row, is firmly, unapologetically the latter. The menu reads like a seduction: subtle French-inflected decadence for the Bay Area bon vivant. But the moment that turned me from curious observer into breathless devotee was a bite of their Golden Osetra Caviar Brioche Melba, Classic Garniture. This is not food so much as ceremony. A gilded riot of texture and indulgence: the crisp hush of the Melba toast giving way to the yielding, oceanic pop of Osetra pearls, and a cloud of crème fraîche so silken it might have been spun by angels with Michelin stars. I briefly lost the ability to form complete sentences. And then — the drink. The Violette Royale. A drink so elusive and so often bastardized that I’d all but given up on seeing it executed properly. But here, in a rare alignment of skill and intuition, Augustine’s bar team resurrects it with reverence. The crème de violette doesn’t overpower but lingers like the echo of a perfume on a silk scarf. It’s sultry, floral, and structurally sound — the kind of champagne cocktail that makes you want to write letters by hand or adopt a second identity in the South of France. The American Wagyu Flank Steak arrived next, its marbling seared with the precision of someone who’s stared into the abyss of sous-vide and said, “Not tonight.” It sliced like warmed butter and delivered the kind of rich, beef-forward flavor that’s often sacrificed on the altar of trend. This was steak as it should be — assertive, tender, and paired with restraint. It made no apologies for being gloriously carnivorous. Dessert? I didn’t choose it. I trusted. The Old-Fashioned Cruellers were beyond decadent!

    Overall speaking, food is acceptable, and tasty. However, when I made the reservation, I informed the restaurant that it would be for birthday celebration. I spoke with a manager that I believed, to prepare for a surprise birthday treat for the birthday girl. Surprisingly, the slice of cheese cake was charged in the check. We settled the check, however, felt like in this special occasion, the birthday treat should be on the house.

    I’ve been here twice and it was perfect each time. The fries were excellent, fish was delicious, cheesecake, Yum! Can’t wait to be back to work my way through the menu.

    I've had the pleasure of having enjoyed lunches at Augustine twice now, both meals were excellent. Your staff are amazingly attentive and friendly, just as they are at my other favorite hangout, The Village Pub in Woodside. I truly appreciate that I never feel rushed through my meal or conversation with my friends. The service was great. My only suggestion is that on Saturday the music inside (and outside) was a bit loud for conversation. Being basically a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, I would wish for more substantial veggie options. And if you could only teach your chef to make the Pub's soft scrambled eggs with caviar and brioche, I'd be in heaven...but I really did enjoy your Florentine quiche with petite salad. Delish! Thank you, great experience. I'll be back.
