Auburn City Steakhouse
Steaks were fantastic and so were the martinis !! We have visited several times and each time we have enjoyed ourselves.
The servers provide a dining experience by informing me what options at I have the beginning of each part of the meal. It’s refreshing to slow down and enjoy each part of the meal rather than ordering starters and the meal all at one. The atmosphere is relaxing. I love that I can use OpenTable online to reserve a table for a specific time. The food is always amazing which is what brings us back each time. The other points at what separates it from the rest.
Overpriced for the quality. Food wasn't spectacular. We have had better steak at Texas Roadhouse.
Food was delicious. I ordered the Filet Oscar and the filet was exceptional.
It's a beautiful place in a great town. Our server was top of the line. The food was very average and not good for the price.
This was our first visit to Auburn Steakhouse. We sat upstairs in the bar, because it was too hot outside. I was expecting more atmosphere, as there were no pictures on the wall, a few tables ( I get it ..covid), and overall very bland. The restaurant bills itself as fine dining, but it is not, based on both atmosphere and food. So let’s talk food. I ordered the special, which included an appetizer/salad, entree and desert. The appetizer was stuffed mushroom with beef and and cheese. It had no flavor and had the appearance of a defrosted frozen appetizer. It was disappointing! My entree was chicken Marsala, overall it was ok, but nothing I would order again. The little desert was good. My husband had the pork chop and was happy with his. Our waitress was attentive, so I have no complaints about her. Out drinks did take some time to get, so not sure what the hold up was there.`The building itself has some character, but they have done nothing to make the restaurant look inviting. We live in Fort Wayne and wanted to try some place different. After reading reviews we chose Auburn Steakhouse. Unfortunately, for us , it’s not worth the 30 minute drive up.
In laws here from Colorado. They really enjoyed the A S H.
Sat outside on a lovely evening with friends. We all had Prime Rib & it was fantastic!! Enjoyed every bite. Will definitely be returning.
If you want excellent good food go here you won’t leave hungry . Didn’t get to try the great looking desserts, too full but maybe next time. Wine list was enormous.
Wonderful evening. Food and drink were spot on. Service was terrific. The entertainment was excellent.
End of tax season dinner
It was my first experience at the Steak House. I had the Wild Mushroom Ravioli and was very pleased! I also had the Double Barreled Peach Manhattan, also a first for me, and it was amazing! The overall experience was a fantastic one!
The service was exceptional and the my steak that I ordered was grilled perfectly. The staff made sure that customer safety was priority. My server was above expectation and was professional along being personable.
Auburn Steakhouse has a great setting. The service we received was great. However, the steak that I ordered wasn't cooked as ordered, thus tough and too fatty.
Food was great, patio seating was wonderful!
Mother in-laws 85th birthday
We always appreciate the great food and service and making family memories at Auburn City Steakhouse. The prime rib was spectacular as always !
We chose Auburn Steakhouse for dinner to celebrate our 21st anniversary. Reservation was 6:30pm and we were promptly seated. Arlean was our server and was polite and attentive. I ordered the Porterhouse with a greek salad and baked potato. My husband ordered the special that included 10oz prime rib, mushroom caps, and dessert. We ordered spinach artichoke dip for the appetizer. The dip was runny and we would not order it again. My porterhouse came out charred on the edges but I thought I would give it a chance. I took a bite and it was pure black on the underside. I had to spit it out. Then I couldn’t get the burnt taste out of my mouth. My greek salad was ok(Gas House is better). The baked potato was a baked potato. My husband said everything he had was ‘ok’. I sent my steak back and declined to wait for another one. I went up to look at the desserts(we were celebrating after all!) and as I sat down, a woman says to me, “that steak was done medium well but I guess I will still remove it”. She was very rude. Then Arlean came back to take our dessert order and I asked if the woman was the boss and she said yes, that she is the bosses daughter in law. I decided I wasn’t interested in offering them anymore of my money and asked for the check. Overall, we were not satisfied and we will not return. The total was $54 and we tipped $25. Maybe Arlean would consider switching to the Gas House??
And to the restaurant: If that woman in charge honestly thinks that a burnt steak is “medium well” then you need to fire her. I would have gladly continued to enjoy my night with dessert had she been able to accept the responsibility of the restaurants mistake and not be rude and condescending.
The only complaint, and it's not a big one, is that the hot food wasn't as hot as we expected so it cooled off rather quickly. If it was served hotter, the great taste would last longer. Maybe the plates need to be pre-heated.
The prime rib was delicious.
This was our first visit to Auburn City Steakhouse, but I doubt it will be our last. Very good prime rib dinner. Accompaniments were a little lacking for my taste, but others may find them very good. I will try something else next time. Service was a little slow. I am not sure if that is because they are short staffed or what exactly. Our server was very nice, but I think she had more tables than one person could reasonably handle. Dessert was very good.
The Prime Rib was excellent, tender enough to cut with a fork and seasoned to perfection. Outstanding service, made dining an enjoyable experience.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner! We were even treated to a private table away on the second floor away from everyone since we were celebrating. The lemon cake we had for dessert was the best I’ve ever had!
Unfortunately two steak dinners the steak was not hot. Other than that everything was great.
Food was adequate, but for the price you would expect more than iceberg lettuce, canned beets and pineapple and too much gravy with beef. Pork chop was great.
I have been to great restaurants all over the YS. Just found my favorite close to home. Auburn City Steakhouse!
We love the Auburn City Steakhouse! We visit frequently andn order often for delivery. Amazing food And super friendly team. Never have been disappointed! We will be excited when the full menu is back and sure to return.
Wonderful place for a nice quiet dinner. Food and service the best!
Been there twice and both times had an excellent experience.
Excellent food and service. The portion sizes were great, practically too much for one sitting.
Found this place by accident, and we went. Food and service was 5 star. Can’t wait to go back! The bartender is amazing, knows her stuff!!
Food was excellent. Nice patio and inside dining had a good atmosphere
Prime Rib was excellent . We really enjoyed our evening.
My compliments to the Chef, the Tuna special and crab cakes were delicious. Enjoyed Cord’s new wine selection and the history of the winery. See you next week!
Very good as always was are first time out for quite awhile. Enjoyed everything about it while go again as we have in the past.
Lettuce wedge a was accompanied by a great assortment of blue cheese crumbles, walnuts and etc as well as a great dressing. The prime rib specialty was superb. Great flavor and done to a medium rare.
The service was fantastic, Jamie waited on us and made my wife's birthday wonderful!
Food was okay but service could have been better. The servers were a bit inexperienced but overall everything was acceptable under the current circumstances. We'll definitely be back after the pandemic is over with. I had been there before and it was excellent. The Greek salad is tasty with interesting ingredients.
Great atmosphere! We had reservations, so we were seated upon arrival. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. My wife and I both had the prime rib and it did not disappoint. Very tender. The crab cakes were some of the best we have tried. The bartender made a mean Bulleit Bourbon Mule. It was definitely worth the two hour drive we made to dine out. Great steak house!
I really don’t have anything nice to say so I’m going to keep quiet
Sadly one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in years. Ill get the positives out of the way quickly, the historic 1850s hardware building has been beautifully restored and decorated and provides a beautiful venue for a restaurant, also the hostess who is dating the owners son was very nice and attentive. Thats where the good ends.
The meal was a comedy of errors from start to finish, the server was abhorrently slow and ignorant as to the menu(bourbin selection according to here was bulleit and Jack Daniels) and offerings of the restaurant(said she's never eaten any of the food), it took 20 minutes to get a cocktail that was not the one ordered, crabcakes were smashed wafer thin and had a sherry cream sauce which was gritty and tasted cheesy, prime rib was ordered Rare and was served medium+, server, kitchen and manager offered no remedy. Manager blamed the overcooked meat on covid. No offer to get a different cut of meat to appease the temp issue as they only had medium+ @6pm on a Friday. My wifes filet oscar was undercooked but a decent piece of beef, however, the asparagus was stringy overcooked mush and the potatoes were gummy. My meal was to come with a dessert that was ordered when entrees were ordered, waitress forgot to bring until after I requested post bringing us our bill.
