ATX Cocina experiments with the boundaries of Mexican cuisine. We have taken traditional Mexican dishes and elevated them with modern approaches and techniques. Corn, the basis of the Mexican cuisine for thousands of years, is also the foundation of our kitchen. We nixtamalize and process our masa in house sourcing it from heirloom varieties of corn grown by small family farms in Mexico.

    We had Ethan as our server and he was outstanding. He had fabulous recommendations and his menu knowledge was stellar. He was prompt and personable. He didn’t miss a beat. Every bite of food we put into our mouths was hauntingly delicious.

    Chris, our waiter, was amazing! Would have never known he was in training if he didn’t tell us. He was attentive, personable, and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. Great job, Chris! The food was delicious too.

    The food was incredible and the waiter (Gil) was so kind and knowledgeable on the menu! He gave amazing recommendations and we really enjoyed everything. The ATX drink and the Machete were definitely highlights but you can’t miss the short rib either! Excited to go back and try even more!

    Our server, Ethan, went above and beyond to make sure our water glasses were filled and we had everything we needed. The chips and salsa were delicious and so were the esquites and brussel sprouts (coming from someone who doesn’t like brussel sprouts). I got the Red Chile Roasted Chicken which was really good, a tad spicy but very moist. I would have liked more bacon. I tried my mom’s pork chop and it was the best pork chop both of us ever had. My dad thoroughly enjoyed the crab relleno and was really sad when he’d eaten it all. When I come back, I’m definitely getting the pork chop. We had an amazing time here and will come back the next time we’re in Austin.

    The BEST restaurant in ATX. Never upsets! Everything on the menu is great and so are the drinks.
