Not good today, Very Disappointing: $300 gone!
1.The menu does not match the website menu, they changed too much, feels like they're trying too hard and changing things that were already good
2. Guacamole is not good with tarragon and basil..just No.
3. Portions are now smaller
4. My $100 steak was cold
5. Queso Fundido now has deer meat instead of chorizo
6. Queso fundido tastes like BBQ now with the smoked tomatoes. The previous version was so much better
7. No manager stopped by table and asked about visit
8.corn tortillas not ready, so the fundido got cold
9.the corn was awesome!
10. Ceasar salad was good
11. Short ribs good
My favorite restaurant in Austin! Food is incredible and so are their cocktails😊
I eat out for almost every meal, and this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food was incredible! Our waitress, Taylor went above and beyond and made the whole experience spectacular. I can’t wait to go back !
Mothers day brunch on outdoor patio. Left after waiting almost 2 hours for main course. 2 different managers came to our table to tell us how sorry they were for lousy service - but still forgot to bring us our meals. I know anyone can have a bad day - but this was epic.
The food was good, but I did not feel that it was "$75 per person good".
Everything was excellent except service was very slow. We waited much longer than expected in between courses, 35 min in between the finishing appetizer and main course. My kids became restless, so we ended up taking dessert to go. Not the most relaxing Mother’s Day meal I’ve had.
Great atmosphere, Superior staff, delicious food. I was served the wrong dish ( I didn’t even know) it was handled so professionally and was taken care of immediately. Not sure if my server was new but she was getting side tracked very often, but 2 other servers picked up what she slacked which made it still a great experience.
I would totally suggest ATX Cocina to my friends. The beautiful photo backdrop that was at the entrance for Mother's Day was the sweetest touch! Loved everything!
I had friends in from out of town and wanted to blow them away. ATX Cocina did just that. In no small part because of the INCREDIBLE service from Willis. He was enthusiastic, proud, and attentive. He handled this gaggle of hens with perfect timing and incredible attention to detail. We have a few in our group with allergies and he expertly managed requests for ingredient changes or things to be on the side. The place was packed but not uncomfortably overcrowded - meaning ALL the staff managed service well for the entire evening. The food was amazing - especially the items Willis recommended - and the cocktails were not your standard fare. It’s hard to impress a bunch of Napa wine snobs with a wine list, but ATC Cocina did. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The bonus was that a casual mention was made that we were celebrating my birthday and I received a card signed by the entire staff - including personal notes. TMI time - That’s more than my family did!
Had reservations a month in advance and when we arrived it was a Torrential rain storm. Without asking they sat us in a soaking wet tent outdoors and wouldn’t accomodate our request for indoors and waited two hours for food that we had to wait for a bar seat for
Food was ok underwhelming
Price point was high
Drinks were delicious
It took 30 minutes to be seated but it was storming outside and the table before us wouldn’t leave. I don’t think ATX Cocina can be blamed for that. Overall a good experience.
The food was over the top. I am from the New Orleans area so I know good food, but this place is one of the top restaurants I have ever enjoyed. Our first trip to Austin but if we go back, this will no doubt be on our list.
We were there as part of our honeymoon and they held nothing back in making our experience special.
I would suggest changing the preparation of the “dos” fish main. I would have liked crisp skin instead of soggy, and the odd almost sauerkraut-like accoutrement was off-putting. I have had the fish in the past with a different preparation and thoroughly enjoyed it. The congrejo “crudo” tasted like a remoulade, not light and fresh like a crude should be. The Brussels sprouts ruled the day.
We love ATX COCCINA
Food and drinks were outstanding. Be prepared for it to be pricey but, also know that you're getting fresh, delicious food, and great cocktails. Definitely would recommend!
Best Mexican food ever!
Clayton and Taylor gave us great service.
Having a gluten free facility like this was a great find for us in Austin.
Apps were out quick and delicious. Then we waited for 30 minutes for main meal; which was fine. However, when the meal came out, it was like we were served “a returned item” from another table. It had been prepared for someone else, sat for a while, and then pawned as our order. It was a “gotcha” moment for our server. They proceeded to remove the item from our bill, and we elected not wait another 30 minutes for our main course and pay the bill. Oddly, a manager never apologized or recognize the event.
ATX Cocina is one of our favorites. We've never had a bad meal there and Saturday night was no exception. The restaurant is loud, though, so we were fortunate to get a table on the patio where we enjoyed a nice breeze and easier conversation. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food is outstanding.
Amazing! Such great solid food that makes your tummy happy.
Best dessert we've had in a long itme - pumpkin seed mousse.
Fish Veracruz was delicious.
Noise level was OK when we first arrived and then significantly louder as more people arrived.
Please open for lunch during the rest of the week!!
Food and service is outstanding!!
Staff and food were amazing. Will definitely return. Inside can get a bit loud, but food and drinks cannot be beat. Outside patio was perfect for quieter setting, date night, girls night, etc.
Fantastic service. Amazing food. Absolutely worth the price.
One diner was very specific she is dairy free. Her entree was covered in butter and the side dish she ordered had cheese on top. She only learned about the butter on her carne asada after the fact.
Great food and atmosphere, but no one paid much attention to sound attenuation. On a busy night you can hardly hear the person across from you. I always try to be seated outside and not have to compete with all the loudness on the interior space. It’s to bad that most restaurants in Austin are the same way. Into the dining experience, but not the noise. Could of been easy fix for the architects and designers. There are only a few restaurants in Austin that don’t require you to yell or strain to hear the server. Take it from a restaurant connoisseur and critic.
Such incredible food every time. Love the building itself too. My favorite restaurant in ATX right now!
Love ATX Cocina. Food is excellent, great presentation, interesting selections. Service excellent. I wish the happy hour menu was not limited to the front of the restaurant. We were seated in the back and were not able to have the advantage of happy hour.
All the staff was great, friendly and approachable. I was able to get a table that was an hour and a half earlier than my reservation time! Server was very helpful in choosing menu items for us! She even brought out champagne because we were celebrating our anniversary!!
this was my 3rd visit and I just have a couple of comments. We were seated outside which was fine b/c the weather was great; however, the seat cushions were soaked from the bottom so it took a few min to notice. We had to wait about 10 min before we saw our waitperson to report it. We ended up using pads from other chairs b/c we were told all the other tables were reserved. It worked out fine but I wish it hadn't taken so long to get us situated. In addition, it seemed the bar was backed up b/c we didn't get our wine for quite some time. I'll definitely be back but I would have preferred more attentive service.
It took over an hour for our main course to arrive.
Great food and service
lol definitely return.
Total menu is gluten free
Excellent as always! Clayton, our server, knew us and brought us all new foods from what we had in the past. Drinks were fantastic and worth copying at home!!!! 😉
Now one of my favorite places in Austin. We wanted to order everything off the menu.
Sad to say that the experience at ATX Cocina is no longer what it used to be. The service was poor from the host to the server. The food was just okay. We had made a reservation weeks in advance and arrived to a host with an attitude telling us that our table wasn’t ready and it would be about 15 minutes. We watched other parties the same size as ours walk in after us to a table, and we were then seated at a dirty booth, dirty table, in the bar area. Hosts didn’t care, didn’t make any amends to help keep our experience positive, and the server was the same way. Not very friendly, no recommendations, and was going through the motions. I understand having a long day, but come on. Food was just okay. Far too overpriced for what it was and how it came out (could tell it was arriving late). Overall, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for anyone in Austin, especially when there are hundreds of other amazing local selections.
Great food and service
Always consistently great experience and food with ATX!
Everything was spectacular . Clayton is exceptional! Everything 5 star!
