Brunch here is amazing! We have eaten here on both of our trips to New Orleans & have not been disappointed. I think the food was even better this time! The breakfast sausage sandwich is the best thing I’ve eaten all year.
Our server was fantastic and so great with our 13 month old. The food was outstanding and the music was an added bonus.
Fantastic menu and the food was spot on
Fun and smart service. Excellent food.
This place is so comfortable and welcoming. The service and food is truly remarkable and worth a trip to NOLA just to eat here. A true gem!
Great food and service!
Pretty good food. I loved the live band playing. I would highly recommend.
Great creole food with a twist and drinks.
Food was super! Service was great!
Great food, great ambiance, always good
We had a dinner reservation for 6. The food was fabulous. The black drum, shrimp and grits, braised greens, chilaquiles and fried green tomatoes with crabmeat were the stand outs. Service was friendly. The restaurant is adorable and good for romantic evenings as well as getting together with friends. We enjoyed our experience and would love to return to try brunch!
Would have been a 5-star rating except we took some out of town guests specifically for the jazz brunch and there was no band playing live music. We were told the band starts at 10:30 but the band was just arriving when we were leaving at 11:30. So our guests missed out on a New Orleans jazz brunch and were extremely disappointed.
From the food to the service...everything about our experience was pure perfection.
Unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. Food was remarkable, shrimp and grits were to die for.
Excellent food, excellent service a bit off the beaten path so you have to want to go there.
The drinks are small but the food is more than amazing!!!!!
Always had great experiences here. Last night the food was horrible - they don’t know burrata, the seared tuna was a hot mess .. it wasn’t cold or hot and the sides were a n even more tragic appearance and taste on the plate.
The service had to be the worst.
The host was friendly and comped our cocktails because of our wait. This was the only high note of the evening.
🔮⚜️Our first nite in NOLA ... & most likely our FAV meal !!
We had wine 🍷 with shrimp & grits & pork loin... both 😋 YUMMY!!
For dessert , we shared bread pudding 💜
Local’s business lunch: good sound level, good pace to the service. Food came out hot and delicious. Pulled pork poboy was a reasonable size and not a Southern country monster. Good NOLA flavors. At the end of the lunch service, coffee was hot, fresh, and delicious.
Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere for our family brunch. The kiddos had great options even without a dedicated "kid's" menu. Excellent variety and unique dishes that definitely have us wanting more!
Very long wait for our appetizers and dishes for five people not served at the same time. The tuna entrée was very disappointing. I was surprised as I had always enjoyed this restaurant on previous visits.
Started when our “heirloom tomato “ salad was presented with 2 cherry tomatoes-no other tomato in sight and when we pointed this out, the waiter shrugged and said they hadn’t gotten their shipment. The mains were even worse. A vegetable dish was principally acorn squash- an ingredient not mentioned in the dish description. The schnitzel was mostly breading and was accompanied by shredded purple cabbage described as “slaw”. Even the chocolate peanut butter pie was more of a spiced apple dish. Service was mostly disinterested. I guess dinner isn’t their thing.
All I can say is that the food is awesome! I have already recommended Atchafalaya to other people! I'll be back soon.
Food was good but not worth the wait. Nothing special.
I love coming to Atchafalaya Restaurant and have been so happy all of the times we have been there. The staff was very accommodating when changing our reservation from a 2 person to a 4 person table. My only negative comment would be that because it was a jazz brunch there was a small band there. It was SUPER loud even in the back where we were sitting. It was hard to have a conversation with the other guests at our table because we were unable to hear each other speaking. Other than that it was as awesome as ever!
2nd Day in a row we came to eat breakfast- what a treat! Duck and waffle ! 2. Time the steak and the spinach crepe with ham and mushroom and Brie - but very important note - go for the potatoes!! It’s so tasteful !
We had the Bloody Mary both days - try the green tomato juice it’s really worth going!
Food was absolutely excellent. There was a bridal party in a private room and the service focused on that group. Our service was mediocre at best. Took 30 minutes to get cocktails and 30 minutes to get the check.
Amazing dishes and awesome staff
First time but not my last - may be a regular “go to”. Had a rez but sat at bar. The bartender Jason knows his way around a bar and the menu. Had turtle and tasso gumbo and the loin schnitzel. Was told schnitzel makes a good leftover sandwich - problem was after a full day of moving - none left!
Amazing time great food good service
On our first visit to NOLA and my daughters 21 birthday, it was her request to go here. Upon arrival there was a jazz band playing that really set the ambiance. Small but very romantic restaurant. The menu has lots of choices. Including chicken thighs and biscuits which was absolutely huge. Bananas foster waffle was very good especially if you have a sweet tooth. The crepe I was not a big fan of. Could of had a better sauce and more of it. Overall a pretty good experience
Good food and Bloody Marys. Waiter was very helpful explaining the specials and drinks.
This was my first visit, and everything at this brunch was stellar — from the punch of the day and Bloody Mary bar to the boudin balls and amazing duck confit ... So amazing, can’t wait to return.
Excellent meal. Creative menu. I’ll be going back to try the items I didn’t get to.
The food was excellent; the service was horrible! While I would love to go back for the food, I won’t go back because of the service.
This restaurant will surprise you. It looks like a little house which cannot have a lot of room for guests but it turns out to be a wonderful restaurant with great seating arrangements. Be warned, even mid-week reservations are STRONGLY recommended. A party of more than six might find it difficult to get in anytime after 6:30 without reservations.
The noise level is surprisingly low, even when full.
The food is excellent and the proprietor (Tony) is there to take you to y our table and make you feel comfortable.
If you visit New Orleans, Atchafalaya is a must stop. The brunch is amazing. They take brunch dishes to a new level. Try the breakfast sausage sandwich...you will not be disappointed. Generous portions and the flavor combination is out of this world.
Atchafalaya was without a doubt, my favorite restaurant in NOLA. Yes, there are many fine restaurants, however, no one does Southern favorites quite like this fun establishment. We went on a Sunday for brunch. It was a hot August morning and the restaurant has water outside for those that didn’t make a reservation. We ordered a couple of mimosas and listened to the trio that was playing by the bar. Very smooth touch; thank you, owners! We were seated upstairs immediately and our server was Justin. He was awesome; very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, my friend had the Oyster Benedict. Not that we needed it but we had to order a biscuit. I’ve ordered shrimp and grits from Charleston to Atlanta to NOLA; none has ever hit the mark like the Chef does at Atchafalaya. If your not into heads and tails, ask your server to leave them in the kitchen. The depth of flavor of the shrimp broth, the creamiest grits and slightly blackened shrimp make an amazing dish. My friend, very much enjoyed her Fried Oyster Benedict, commenting on the smokiness of the greens. As if the bounty wasn’t enough, there was the biscuit that was the size of a pastry. Oh, my was it delish and served with fresh peach jam. I was so satiated, I flew home to CA and was pleasantly full all day. Looking forward to going back soon.
Love the food. Love the bloody mary bar. Such a cool vibe. Love the live music for brunch! We come here every time we visit NOLA. Fried green tomatoes are a must. Crepe is delicious, as are all the waffles. However, the peach biscuit pain perdue was just ok. But otherwise, so delicious! We saw a fried chicken on a biscuit type dish passed by and our mouths watered. So yummy, as are all the salads and sandwiches. A MUST FOR BRUNCH!!!!! BEST SIDE OF POTATOES IN. THE. WORLD!!!!
