Great ambiance. Excellent food. Unusual choices. Great brunch experience. Also great Bloody Mary Bar
Delicious brunch and great service as well.
Everything from start to finish was first class wonderful.
We have eaten here for brunch the past few years when in town and it has always been top notch. Food is great as well as the service.
The food and service was second to none... a must visit when in New Orleans
Outstanding as usual! I go out of my way to stop for brunch whenever I go down there. Their eggs Atchafalaya is in the top 5 list of best things I ever ate! Duck hash and shrimp and grits are also awesome! Service and atmosphere are top notch.
Everything was absolutely delicious and no one left hungry. The chicken & biscuits (with added eggs) were a hit, as were the bananas foster waffle and strawberry biscuits. Live music adds to the fun and lively atmosphere.
Overall, a great meal. The boudin stuffed beignets were outstanding as were the shrimp and grits and beef bourguignon. Fairly priced wine by the glass and a great gimlet with smoky undertones. The only thing keeping this from a perfect score was rushed service. They insisted on taking the entire food order at once and we had to ask if there could be a pause between the starters and main course. They obliged, somewhat grudgingly, and the meal slowed down. Otherwise, we would have been out in an hour and had no time to really enjoy the evening. Still, I recommend it highly—just be ready to insist on slowing the pace.
Amazing atmosphere and food. Don't pass up the biscuits and jelly! The breakfast sandwich is to die for...you won't regret visiting this place.
Exceptional service. My steak was the best I had ever had hands down. The service was ridiculously good. Our table wasn’t ready, they bought our party of four two rounds of drinks and an appetizer.
Family celebration for Tulane graduation - the folks here were most helpful when we unexpectedly added another diner on a busy evening. Our server AJ was exceptional - helpful, efficient and charming. While many of us ordered the same entree (shrimp/grits) there were other additions along the way, and cocktails for variety. A must-visit local restaurant. We can't recommend Atchafalaya more highly!
Very good food. Was a little slow to get it out but worth it
Best meal we had during our 1 week visit to NOLA. Sam, our waiter was wonderful!
Luis our server was fantabulous! Service was great! Our appetizers were out of this world( crab ravioli, crawfish nanua and fried green tomatoes)! The gulf fish entree was ok. It came on top of this potatoe cake, which was bland. The piece of fish was small. The second entree the fish in the tomato sauce was ok. Our third entree was the shrimp and grits OUTSTANDING! Dessert we had the bread pudding with the maple bourbon popcorn OUTSTANDING!
Had a reservation at 7pm, we were 6 min late but was still seated immediately. The restaurant was very pretty, ambiance was good. Service was excellent. We ordered shrimp and grits, pork loin and had the fried chicken special. The fried chicken would have been awesome taste wise if it had not been over fried.
Great food and great service in a beautiful space!
They were able to accommodate us even though there was some confusion about the number in our party. We had excellent service, never having to ask for anything to be refilled or requested twice. The food was excellent and everyone was very impressed.
Great Neighborhood Restaurant. Good food and service.
everything was wonderful. no complaints we were imediatiately served. our waiter was on top of everything. the food was excellent.
Wonderful meal and service! Will definitely return!
The food was good but I wish they stop changing the menu items
Great food and service. We couldn't finish everything, but it was all delicious.
Atchafalaya was extremely accommodating of our large party and the service was excellent. Best shrimp and grits I had in NOLA!
The food and service was exceptional. We will tell our friends and family.
The food was done right. The coffee was delicious. The hostess was very nice. I was on the last day of my visit to New Orleans; my companion had left the previous day. I sat alone at the counter. The bartender was not friendly nor helpful. I noticed that he was warmer toward the other (pairs) of folks he was waiting on. I was surprised because in every other restaurant I went to in New Orleans the people were so friendly and warm - part of the charm of the city. This really soured my experience of the restaurant. Disappointing.
very happy with the accomodations...amazing food, efficient and friendly service. looking forward to coming back.
Wondering why we waited so long for our first visit. The food was outstanding and the service was even better. We really appreciate it when the staff is so knowledgeable about their menu and just as excited for our food experience as we are. Can't decide what to order? It doesn't matter... just make plan to go back again and order something different.
Louisiana staples at its finest. Located in a house in uptown New Orleans, the location is not within walking distance of the French Quarters but it’s worth the trek. I had the eggs Atchafalaya with the crawfish tails which is essentially a benny served over top of fried green tomatoes with crawfish tails cooked in butter. My husband had the shrimp and grits which was also delicious. Just a warning, the shrimps are full shrimps which means the heads are included. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of Atchafalaya and will definitely be going back the next time we are in town. It’s nice that they do brunch not just on the weekends.
Fantastic food and a great attentive staff made this a highlight of our New Orleans visit!
The meal was perfect in every way!
It shouldn’t be up to the customer to tell a restaurant that their food is dry and underwhelming. If you have to many fancy plates and can’t keel things from drying out that is your problem. Overpriced and underwhelming.
Solid spot, all around. We loved the Ravioli appetizer & had very attentive service.
A refreshing change from the traditional stars in town. Cheerful, eclectic, delicious. Our waiter was part of the great experience - how fun to be served by someone who is enjoying himself. So many good starters to choose from that I skipped the entree and selected several starters instead. The burrata was unexpectedly good!
The food and atmosphere for the Sunday Jazz Brunch was fantastic!
The Chicken and biscuits and eggs benedict with crab were amazing. Only weird thing is if you have a res, you cant sit at the bar, bar is reserved for walk ins. They had a nice seating area outside to wait
There’s a reason this place is always crowded - it’s just about the most perfect Sunday brunch spot in New Orleans. Incredible food, Bloody Mary bar (amazing!), live jazz music, great service & ambience - Atchafalaya delivers. Looking forward to coming back on my next visit, it’s a must when in NOLA!
Literally Epic!!!! Best brunch with my best crew
This locally owned place is dynamite for anyone looking to sample some of New Orleans finest cuisine.
The oyster special was unlike anything I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely delicious!
Good food. Poor service.
