Didn’t honor my reservation time, wound up sitting down outside just to be able to sit and order due to standing at the bar for 45 minutes and becoming very hungry. 7 course preset menu wasn’t very good in taste or presentation and definitely didn’t feel like a $250 meal for two. I’ve eaten many places around NOLA, many many other places that will provide better value, better food taste/quality/presentation, and that will also honor your reservation. Or at least provide some type of lagniappe in return for the inconvenience. Nothing about this dinner was exceptional, just basic. Thank God I had good company with me for the date.

The food lives up to the hype! I lived in New Orleans for 7 years, and this was always one of my favorite places to eat -- and ten years later, it's just as solid as ever. This is no place for a diet -- you go here to eat all of the things you can't get elsewhere; boudin stuffed beignets, shrimp and grits with andouille sausage, blue crab raviolo. Will you overeat and feel slightly ill? Probably. And it's worth the discomfort! No regrets!

The atmosphere is charming -- it feels as though you've been invited into a strangers home for dinner. The space is simultaneously intimate and spacious - enough room for large parties to dine concurrently with smaller tables without feeling like you're on top of each other. The lighting and art only adds to the upscale but convivial vibe.

Can't recommend this place enough, and can't wait to return :)

Food was very good, but service was spotty. Friendly, but not on the top of their game when it came to the little things like making sure water glasses were filled without having to ask. Wine list is extensive but there was no one on staff who could tell us about the four different Riesling offerings and which one was the driest. First world problems, I know. But at this price point and with high expectations fueled by good reviews/ratings, these are little things that shouldn't be ignored. It was a Monday night and it kind of felt like whoever was running the place took the night off and everyone just let their guard down. I wouldn't dissuade someone from trying Atchafalaya, but I'd suggest they try Marcello's or GW Fins or several other options first.

The food and service here was incredible. It was refreshing to be able to sit down and have a high-quality meal without any of the stuffy dress code requirements. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits!

My wife and I absolutely loved our experience here. I probably have one of the best steaks in my entire life, and we definitely plan to go here again, especially because we live a couple blocks away and it's a great walk!

The restaurant is excellent as always. Food choices are interesting, and well carried out. The ambience is as expected, sort of like eating in one friends house. Always enjoyable, and, thankfully, overlooked by the maddening crowd.

Great food and service. The room was loud at times - they need something on the walls to absorb the sound - maybe fabric

Very good experience on Friday night dinner with friends. We had the fish (drum) and chicken bonne femme. Both were excellent. Appetizers included the roasted oysters (yum!) and cabmeat raviolo (not to be missed), salads, and desserts. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Service was also very good. However, restaurant is quite loud when full and wait staff has to talk very loud to be heard over the din. But it is lively and fun. We'll be back.

Enticing cocktails, creative cuisine, professional service and a healthy glow when you leave make this one of the top spots in the city. Get the cauliflower, a surprising standout as an entree or side.

We brought some friends here for dinner and we could not have been more pleased with our meals. Everybody loved their entrees and most especially my husband and I who are vegan. We had made note on OpenTable before arriving at the restaurant that we were vegan and they were ready for us with fabulous entrees which were beautifully presented. Our waiter was outstanding! Loved the atmosphere and though it's a bit noisy we were able to visit with people seated next to us! Thank you! Highly recommend to locals and visitors!

Went for a lunch and everything was very good. I had the duck confit with eggs while my wife had the fried green tomatoes, corn bread and boudin balls appetizer for her meal. Everything was excellent except my wife rated the tomatoes as average.

We were in on a Tuesday night which I thought wouldn’t be very busy turned out they were understaffed and so the service was lacking .Our waiter was very busy running around like crazy as much as I felt sorry for him, I did feel like we were not very important and not very well taken care. the hostess who turned out to also be a manager tried to make up for his lack of attention ,but it was obvious that he was spread too thin .my sister loved her meal she had shrimp and grits I had the beef Bourginon ; and I was not impressed. the bread was excellent ,the dessert was nice I thought it was quite pricey for what we got.

We arrived for our 6:00 reservation, and everything was great until our food came. Our food was DELICIOUS! But by this time, the place was full. I’m not sure if they were short staffed, but I think there were only 2 servers and 2 bus boys. The hostess was serving table and busing tables. We waited on water several times and I had to literally flag down our server to clear our dirty dishes away (they sat there 15-20 minutes after we were done.) The employees were running all around. I never saw a manager until we walked out the door to leave. Overall the experience was good. They might consider hiring a few more people.

Our experience at Atchafalaya was wonderful. The service, food, and ambiance were all outstanding. It’s an intimate, bright and friendly place. We went for brunch on a Monday with a 10 a.m. reservation. I had delicious wild boar, a special item, and my friends both enjoyed the chicken and biscuits with gravy. Wish I lived in New Orleans, and I could eat here regularly! So good!!

We're here in New Orleans for three weeks, eating our way through a fair sampling of the great restaurants of NOLA. We'd put Atchafalaya right up there among the best Uptown neighborhood fine dining experiences along with Patois, Croquet, and Clancey's.

Well we really were looking forward to this dinner- our last before flying back to Australia- however we were really put off by what seemed to be clearly preferential treatment to ‘locsls’ - we did not strike this anywhere else in NOLA! Confusing table service and this really spoilt what was meant to be a special night!
