Outstanding food quality! Will definitely be a go-to every time we come in town from now on.
Came with a group of eight and everything was perfect. The food is outstanding and Monica our waitress was wonderful. The owner was very welcoming.
So, so good. Second time there and just as good as I remembered.
other than the fact that the food was fabulous, these wonderful folks helped us when our Uber driver tried to screw us around !!they took care of us at the bar as they ordered a taxi, and then ushered us out with umbrellas in the rain —they are a wonderful group of people. It’s a great restaurant!
Entertained 6 clients. Food and service was fantastic! Such a lovely experience. Thank you.
We LOVE the duck fat sazeracs. Great food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere.
When we were initially seated, the manager made a small mistake with our table. We barely noticed, but the entire staff was so apologetic and went above and beyond to create the most wonderful meal of our trip. We sat next to the live jazz band playing Christmas music and enjoyed course after course of food that had clearly been made with authentic New Orleans love. Couldn’t recommend this cozy spot more highly.
Food, service and atmosphere were fantastic.
Instead of exchanging gifts with our best friends for Christmas this year, we decided to choose a restaurant and share a meal together. Atchafalaya did not disappoint!
(Side note: the cauliflower entree was incredible.)
We will be back. Thank you!
Oh my! What a jewel of a restaurant. Saturday brunch with a live band and Bloody Mary bar. The cocktails were exquisite and of our seven major meals eaten during this trip, AtAtchafalaya was our absolute favorite. It’s now on our short list of places to eat when in NOLA. Great conversation with locals at the bar while waiting for our table. The shrimp and grits were the best we’ve ever eaten. Busy during brunch but excellent service. Make reservations!
Amazing! We will be back the next time we are in NO.
Many thanks to the patient, knowledgeable, & professional bartender. Our waiter was outstanding & quite helpful with describing the items on the menu. Thanks everybody at Atchafalaya for making our evening so special.
The brunch menu sounded great, but it was overall fairly gross. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer, Seafood Hushpuppies, Alligator Breakfast Sausage, Boudin Balls, Garlic & Herb Potatoes, Grits, and Jalapeno Cornbread. The only item we agreed was good was the grits, which were super creamy and delicious. The fried green tomatoes comes with a crab salad--the crab was pickled, which we was bizarre and not tasty at all. The seafood hushpuppies had the consistency and taste of tuna fish from a can, which was really off-putting. The alligator sausage was a burnt, dried-out patty that we could barely cut through or chew. The boudin balls weren't actually boudin: we couldn't find any rice in them at all. The garlic and herb potatoes were burnt, so all we could taste was the bitter char and some garlic. We never received the cornbread that we ordered, so that could be a shining star. The service was questionable. When we walked in, there was no host at the host stand to greet us. We expected to be welcomed by SOMEONE, but that didn't really happen. The bartender and two servers actually passed by and looked at us, but no one spoke a single word to us. We both considered leaving at that point. After waiting for about 4 minutes (while being ignored by all staff), a host came to the host stand and greeted us really warmly. This host was essentially the only member of the service staff who made our dining experience better. He ended up talking to us later about the Bloody Mary bar and showing us his "secret recipe" for mixing the tomato juices. Our server was MIA for the first 5 minutes of being seated. When he finally approached us and greeted our table, we were ready to order all of our food (because we had been reading the menu while he was MIA). He wasn't very friendly, forgot one of our food orders, and didn't seem to care about trying to give us a good experience. I absolutely will never be back to Atchafalaya, and wouldn't recommend the this place to anyone.
Went here for my wife's birthday. It was her first time there and we both absolutely loved the experience. The service, food and ambiance were all excellent.
Everything was delicious. Even the orange juice. They really knocked it out of the park. And they were so good with our 1 year old. Loved it.
Always a great time in that quaint neighborhood spot...
Incredible meal, from start to finish. Enjoyed excellent cocktails to start, really fantastic gumbo, an excellent bottle of wine without an absolutely ridiculous restaurant markup, and terrific entrees all delivered with top-notch service and outstanding descriptions.
We try to go to a nice restaurant every month. This was the best all around food taste wise and experience wise this year.
I’ve never been to Atchafalaya before.
The alligator and turtle soup was great. The crispy black eyed peas salad was wonderfully different.
The entree were outstanding. Absolutely the best meal I’ve had this year.
The pan seared fish with crab meat and shrimp over a sweet potato mixture and a wonderful sauce was out of this world.
The Inglewood Farm chicken entree had a fried thigh and a pan seared breast over butter beans tops them all. Both were the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life..no kidding!
The dessert menu and selection were disappointing. No where near the quality of the appetizers and entrees. New Orleans is just not a good dessert town.
A great experienced and professional staff and a warm ambiance where noise was not an issue.
I’d say a can’t miss and a must see.
It was odd that in a city like New Orleans that the staff “lacked diversity” which was noticeable. The location and the city would almost certainly naturally dictate a diverse staff. My hope it’s only by chance that this is the case...but
Our experience was exceptional. We enjoyed a cocktail before dinner. The Chef came out and chatted us up about new items on the menu. The food was delicious as well with generous portions.
Read other reviews and made reservations for brunch. Not disappointed, friendly staff, great dishes and service very attentive.
Love this place! I’ve been multiple times and the food and service are always impeccable. Try the grits!!
The food was authentic to the region. Waitstaff was prompt with water and needs. Cost was a bit much, but knew ahead of time. Would enjoy again.
The Duck Hash is so unique and delicious! Highly recommend.
I have enjoyed dinner here in the past but for brunch I felt hurried and the crab cakes were not as good as I had heard.
I had an amazing meal during my visit in New Orleans. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. I will be returning!
Seated quickly for our reservation. Wonderful drink menu, and brunch was wonderful. We were a group of 3 . I’m the only local of the group and they raved! Ambiance was festive, live music was perfect. Will be back!
We were lucky to get a private space where it was just us! Our server Sam was amazing and food was delicious!
Easy to get to. Waiter had extensive knowledge of food and menu. Food was fantastic, a real pleasure these days as so many restaurants try to out do one another. As a local, am happy to have re-found this place. Went Sunday night and again Tuesday night. Everyone liked their food.
We visited on the Monday following Thanksgiving. Restaurant was empty, as was the rest of the city of New Orleans. It was a quiet night. We were seated at a round table in one of the best locations in the restaurant. Great food, great meal.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, order the duck hash. Will return when back in town.
Great food with a New Orleans twist. Great atmosphere, live music at Bunch, great waitstaff. I'll be back
We visit Atchafalaya's every time we are in NOLA. Love their cream cheese grits. Yum!
Spotty service, mediocre bread, fried green tomato side was soggy and served on soggy greens, the three-pork main dish was respectable and salvaged the meal. The brunch menu is more impressive. Dinner was a disappointment and I would not return.
Found Atchafalaya based on excellent Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews. Lovely space, great food (amazing shrimp & grits!), outstanding service. Wonderful way to celebrate my wife’s birthday and end our brief New Orleans getaway!
Thank you, B&S
One of my top 3 restaurants in New Orleans. The others are Commander's Palace and Peche. The food is excellent, the service always perfect, the small restaurant in a residential neighborhood is so nice, and the price is a real bargain for the quality of the food. The Bloody Mary bar is just icing on the cake.
Best brunch ever!
The food, atmosphere and service were stellar. Great meal with great friends.
This was our first time experiencing this restaurant and it was amazing! Dining room all to ourselves. Waiters was fabulous! The food options were great and our meals were out of this world! Will definitely be back!
Great menu and service. We got a couple different dishes and cocktails and each one was amazing. Good sized portions of amazing food. Highly recommend
The food is always exceptional and the service is excellent
Lovely dining experience! This restaurant is beautiful and full of local character.
