Great ambiance and wonderful food. A little pricey, but worth every penny.
One the absolute best places to eat in New Orleans!!
In town for the 54th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Unfortunately, due to Tropical
Storm Barry, it was cancelled early to allow members to safely travel home. My group had been planning to have brunch at Atchafalaya for months. We weren’t going to miss it..,and we didn’t. Atchafalaya was just as good as I remembered it from my last trip here. Great good, friendly service, and cozy ambience. Thank you, Atchafalaya.
This is our favorite brunch place. Love the fried green tomatoes with crab and poached eggs and the oysters on cornbread and greens with poached eggs. Of course we had to have the cheesy grits. Shared a bottle of bubbly rose'. Our server Joshua was excellent and the jazz band was great. A wonderful way to celebrate coming out from under a hurricane alert!
Loved our servers (dudes from South Carolina and Michigan) kept us laughing. Good time and good food.
A lovely place with wonderful food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
Absolutely delicious. So excited we stopped her during our trip to NOLA!
One of our favorites when we come to New Orleans! Food is always fresh, savory and well prepared!
This was our 2nd experience at Atchafalaya and we loved it as much -- if not more -- than the first time. The Cocktails were delicious (French 75 and Gimlet), and the food was spectacular. We started with the Free Form Ravioli (yum!); for entree, my husband had the Black Drum and I had the Risotto Special -- so so delicious. My coffee was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I loved the lighting and overall ambiance, and our waiter, Brett, was attentive and knowledgeable. 10/10!
Wonderful good and service.
Great food, wonderful service and ambiance.
Super unique dishes and loved the drinks. The duck entree was amazing and worth the little walk off the streetcar. Nice hidden gem!
The bloody mary bar wad terrible.i would not recommend it to anyone. I was very disappointed it was the main reason i wanted to go there
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. We were in Nola to celebrate our bdays and wedding anniversary. We love this place and will definitely be back!
Great energy! Delicious food! Helpful, good service!
Great service. Great food. Busy but efficient. Loved it.
Amazing. Great food and great service!
Everything was awesome. Great Bloody Mary bar, service and food.
The shrimp and grits where great. Tue service was better. Just wish I had brought a better date!
Took 6 clients to dinner. Was the perfect setting for a small group cause we were blue to get the back dinning room.
Beginning with the Host, person seating us, server and live band, everyone was hospitable, warm and inviting. Then there’s the food! Creamy, rich taste of shrimp and grits and the wonderful surprising taste of the bananas fosters waffles. The Bloody Mary bar was to die for. Definitely the best brunch in town!
Ordered off of the brunch menu. Everything was cooked with fresh ingredients and was very tasty. Live music played in the background. Great atmosphere. The place is packed but the food is always amazing
Great, authentic restaurant in both cuisine, style and location. Visiting from out of town, this was a destination restaurant that took us to a whole new part of the city. I'll be back for sure on our next trip to NOLA.
In our quest to eat our way through New Orleans, my sister-in-law and I were so glad we ventured into the Garden District to find this little gem. The ambiance was great, the server was pleasant and attentive and the food could not have been tastier. I had the shrimp and grits-I've never had better. Highly recommend.
Outstanding ⭐️. Always fresh delicious food!!!! My favorite ❤️
Excellent food for many years, and still great. Very good turtle/ alligator gumbo, spicy and rich. Black drum and steak main dishes, both were excellent. I really enjoyed the flan with a hint of blue cheese. Very good service from Luis who I remember from another restaurant that closed. He is very knowledgeable and sells the food well. This is a very popular restaurant for weekend brunch as well.
Great food, good service, LOUD music. Unfortunately could not hear the others at my table due to the incredibly loud music. Don’t get me wrong, I love live music, but I also love hearing the people I brought to brunch.
The food was absolutely outstanding! I had the fried chicken and biscuit, and I’m 100% confident saying it’s better than anyone’s grandmother’s recipe. And the portion is enough for 2 people. I’m bummed we don’t live in New Orleans so I can have it again!
First time ever being here and was astounded with many different arts and the service. Our waiter made sure it was the perfect date and everything ! Food was quick AND DELICIOUS. What made the night so perfect was the MUSIC. MAN OH MAN whoever was on the aux deserves a Grammy 😂😂
This was a great place that really surprised me! I personally had the fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits and it was all really good. The ambience is in a small, sort of funky room work fun artwork all around. I would definitely come here again.
We will be back to this establishment every time we visit New Orleans! From the outside, to the staff, to the food, to the bathrooms, this restaurant was EVERYTHING!!!
It was our second time there, and it was just as good as the first. Best breakfast sandwich in the city. Drinks are great too.
Highly recommended. Service is very attentive. The food is amazing. Exactly what you want for a taste of the south. Perfect for visitors.
My husband and I absolutely love Atchafalaya. We also love to try a new dish when we go. They have such an amazing staff and they are so sweet to our baby girl when we bring her. She loves the attention haha. We hope to try dinner soon.
Food is great went for brunch outstanding
One of our favorite restaurant
Summertime in New Orleans means being local I can really enjoy some of my favorite restaurants in Nola in a quiet special way - and - Atchafalya is one of them - Our server Sam was terrific and described the specials so wonderfully that I ordered the Wagu beef on his recommendation - amazing - and since I had an out of town guest - we had to have the Fried Green Tomatoes and Gumbo with alligator - both great -
Comfortable - beautiful - easy to park - great service - amazing food - one of my favorites -
This was the first restaurant I went to on my first trip to New Orleans. What a GREAT away to be introduced to all the amazing food and people I was about to encounter.
We stayed in NOLA for 4 days and went here twice. On the second visit, we ordered the same thing we ordered the first time (it was all so good) plus 3 new dishes. GO HERE!
Excellent hospitality to match the food and drink, located in a nice neighborhood and clearly in high-demand.
Atchafalaya is one of our favorite "go to" places in New Orleans. Although the restaurant is somewhat limited, there are still ample choices. The fish special was triple tail, which is rarely found on a menu. I can truthfully say that we have never had a dish, much less a meal , that we were disappointed by. Our server, Lee, had worked at Atchafalaya for 6 years...very professional, and personable. Even though she was waiting on numerous tables, she seemed to handle it easily. This place is an original-the décor, the menu and the location all contribute to a delightful l dining experience.
