Quiet intimate space. The fried green tomatoes with lump crab meet and warm arugula salad was delicious. We had the drum jubilee which was a grilled filet or drum in a lovely broth with tomato, okra, crab meat and oysters. It was however a bit hardy and warm for a hot summer night, but would recommend nonetheless. I also discovered cool summery cocktail of strawberry gin, and rose petal liqueur. Fabulous.

Food very good in general although I found the cornmeal breading on my softshell crab to be a little too thick, and the crab kind of got lost in there. I would eat about 20 of those tiny corn muffins they serve in the bread basket. Wish I had had room for dessert!

We didn’t think that the food was that good, and it was pretty pricey. The ladies liked the beat salad, but the beignet appetizer was over salted. The shrimp and grits weren’t that good, considering that I had about four shrimp tails and about eight shrimp heads. Wasn’t worth $35 or so. Service was good though.

we enjoyed our 2nd brunch at atchafalaya this summer, although the bar service to our table was very slow. i had the fried chicken and biscuit with the sausage gravy on the side. i took home 1/2 of the order. my husband had the fried oyster po boy and a side of cheese grits. he did not leave a scrap behind. the bloody mary bar was well stocked with many hot sauces and veggies to add to the preparation. i mixed the green and the red juices and then added lots of spicy items. we live nearby so will be back often.

The Duck Hash is one of the best things I have every eaten in my life, along with the boudin. Ambience is really great in this cool building. Waiters were good. If you want to go for Sunday brunch you really should get a reservation.

Great place for dinner. Group of friends came from Baton Rouge for dinner. Everyone was pleased. Only issue was Fried Green Tomatoes were bland no salt or seasoning in the batter. Small issue in getting staff attention for a bit of salt. Wait staff was wonderful in helping with wine selection. First time for my friends, secound visit for me.

The food here was so delicious! I was a tourist and was happy I tried it for brunch. Pricing was moderate and they had a good variety, especially if you're a bit adventurous with food. Only downside was that they only had a bloody mary bar and I'm more of a Mimosa girl. They did have mimosas, but I definitely would have loved a bar of them.

Excellent food, excellent ambiance although a little loud, but most importantly excellent service. Our server Justin was absolutely charming, knowledgeable, accommodating. The food was delish, came to the table warm. Kitchen was very efficient. And the Bloody Mary Bar was so much fun! I will be baaack!

I usually don't write bad reviews but I really did not enjoy this restaurant. I went for brunch with my husband and daughter and was seated right next to the live band. The band is very good but VERY loud. We literally couldn't talk to each other the whole time. The food comes is pretty large portions but it's really just okay. There are tons of amazing brunch places in NOLA so "just okay" doesn't cut it for me, especially since it's not cheap. It was very hot inside this place and they serve room temperature water with no ice, I almost fainted. If you like loud music then this place is right for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

The experience was nice but I’ve had better. Gumbo was ok the roux wasn’t my preference but ok and the shrimp and grits were just ok. The service was adequate and the atmosphere was very good. I would return too try some of the other dishes

When we were planning our trip to New Orleans, everyone recommended Atchafalaya. We couldn't pass it up, and we were so glad we didn't! The ambiance, service and food were excellent. We especially loved the fresh take on classic New Orleans food. In a city full of great food, this is one of the best.

Very lovely converted house. Nice decor and original artwork. Monica was our server and was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I had the pork belly dish that was excellent on all levels. Unfortunately, having eaten so much for the previous 3 days I could not finish and had no room for dessert. Next time I will arrive with my appetite intact.

Food was good. Did duck hash, shrimp and grits, good flavor. Mimosa for 8$ apiece is a rip. Should be bottomless, it is New Orleans! Over 60$.
Too many other places for less $ more value.

The food was basically good but too heavy as the soup and sauce had too much cream.
I’m from Italy and with all the good wines you produce in the meantime locally the wine list had less than 10% of US grown wines.

Food was ok...but out of best menu item.....restaurant was very hot, miserable.
Service was ok....no personality and too busy to care.
After complaining at door on way out, owner offered a gift certificate....I declined thinking that would be better for someone who might return, not me!

Great Bloody Mary bar for Sunday brunch. We had the pho with pork belly...delicious!! Music was very good and nice blues pace. This was our second meal here. Dinner was also delicious and we had a very most chicken and salad. Walked from our Air B & B in the Garden District.

Delightful location off the beaten path.

Atchafalaya is located In a very cozy residential area of New Orleans. Lots of street parking allowed us to park directly in front of the restaurant. The host was very friendly, helpful and ensured our glasses were always full. He also made excellent menu recommendations as did our server. The free form blue crab “raviolo” was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were also very tasty. The black drum jubilee was sensational. My wife - who’s not a fish lover - loved the pan seared gulf fish, which on this night was grouper. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a very pleasant dining experience. Well done Atchafalaya!
