The place has been remodeled and looks nice.
The food was ok. I had the famous Carbonara Pasta. In my opinion was a little dry. Too much pasta and little carbonara sauce. They should make the portion smaller.
A wonderful relaxing diner after a day touring. Our server Marisa was friendly and attentive. We had a delicious dinner- including the fresh bread and pesto dip, for our last night in Boston.
Over 2.5 hours to eat dinner, 1 hour wait for apps and an additional hour for entrees. I understand the kitchen was incredibly backed up but there are ways to compensate the patrons for their patience. I never received any check in from the GM who I saw at multiple tables. I have been to assaggios over 5 times since 2021 and it’s one of my favorites. This experience has me questioning if I want to come back
I would highly recommend Assagio to others. My husband and I both experienced a warm welcome and our waitress Kathy was very professional with a pleasant personality. Our food was exceptional and received in a timely manner. The ambiance of Assagio made us feel very relaxed.
Small and cozy place just off Hanover Street. Feels very much like a family operated place which was very nice. Service was excellent in every respect. Though we stuck with the traditional lasagna and chicken parmigiana we were not at all disappointed. The chicken was tender and the lasagna was firm, not runny. We will return to this very nice, quaint Italian neighborhood restaurant.
Staff was amazing ambiance was great but music was a little too loud to carry on a conversation without yelling. Ossobuco was great Grigliata's presentation was awesome but overall lacked flavor.
Our waitress, Marisa, was fantastic! She explained in detail a lot of the menu options, energetic and super helpful. We had wine, charcuterie board, chicken Parmesan and Naples. The food was phenomenal! We will definitely return to Assaggio.
Service was poor.
Bruschetta with wild mushrooms was great, as well as the sausage risotto.
Polenta and short ribs needed salt.
I let them know several times it was my wife's birthday. When we arrived they first tried to seat us by the entrance, then ended up putting us by the bathrooms. Restaurant was largely empty. No mention of my wife's birthday by staff or host.
Definitely a one and done visit for us.
Great and knowledgeable staff, great food and drinks. Very nice atmosphere; it was quiet even before the Celtics game. Ask to sit upstairs
Really good food. Friendly staff. Service was quick and attentive.
Amazing service and great ambience!! Restaurant is beautiful inside, bar upstairs is very fun
Food was outstanding as was the service. Great location and not as crowded as other North End establishments.
Excellent night celebrating my sister’s birthday! The food was excellent as always.
Came for a graduation dinner and will definitely come back. Great food, great drinks, great service - great job guys!
Main course was good. Appetisers were ordinary. Noisy. Service is rushed on a busy day.
Over the top amazing in every way!
Like so many restaurants in the North End, space Is tight. Now that there are plastic dividers at the bar, the noise level at the tables is higher than it used to be. We aren't crazy about loud restaurants. The food, service etc. were all excellent. But if any customer has issues hearing, you might ask for a quiet table downstairs. That's what we will do next time.
Amazing experience. Best pistachio martinis in town ;)
Lounge upstairs is excellent
Nice open air. Great food. Good service. Nice environment.
Great food. The quantity for the lamb could be better.
The white pasta could have more square in it.
Almost perfect...loved the veal Milanese but it was slightly undercooked by the bone...but otherwise perfect
Service was great. Food was decent, but not the best of the North End.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was a little loud where we were sitting, but we would definitely go back.
Wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Food was fantastic. Great drinks. We will be coming back soon.
Updated: after our first wonderful experience, our friends and family finally got a chance to explore this wonderful restaurant again. We choose this restaurant for our early Mother’s Day celebration. The “full size” of the appetizers and main dishes are amazing! They are continually bringing wonderful food and service, the dessert is amazing. They made the fresh tiramisu in front of you. It surprised us and we love it. What a great time there. Highly recommended this hidden gem.
Amazing food! Great service! Food was flavorful and beautiful!
Perfect place for dinner. Attentive service. Sweet owner walks around and checks on everyone. SOLID menu and drinks! I will be back! Thanks for a wonderful dinner!!!!!
True authentic Italian ! Loved it
Went to Quattro and Assiago in the same day.
It was my birthday and I love italian food.
I thought the service and food at Quattro was better.
They are sister restaurants.
Just my brief thoughts.
Salad came with meal instead of prior to meal. So our dinners got a little cold by the time we got to them. A little disappointed in both the chicken parmigiana and the short rib dinner. Both could have had more flavor. Would I come back? Probably not with all the other options nearby in Little Italy.
Felt a bit rushed toward the end. I was slowly working on my meal and got asked 3x if I was done. Otherwise food and service were great
Outstanding service and food. A most enjoyable evening!
The food was excellent. Service was good and great environment. Loved the area
and service was spectacular
One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. I took my girlfriend here to celebrate a special occasion and OH MY WERE WE IMPRESSED. I absolutely loved the meatballs with ricotta and both our pasta dishes were phenomenal. I know this sounds strange but even the starter bread was really good as it comes with a pesto sauce side. Also a special thank you to the waiting staff who always asked if everything was okay and were extremely hardworking. I never give reviews but I am so happy with my experience last night that I wanted to let the owner/future customers know :)
Great hidden gem off Hanover street in Boston . Great food, great atmosphere Great for a date
Group of 4 on a Saturday night. We were greeted and seated by the manager in a very gracious manner. He gave us a wonderful table for 4 by the open windows, excellent service, meals were very well made, appetizers were a bit meager though. Service and the overall food and atmosphere created by the manager and staff made for a great night.
Extremely loud, crappy music playing overhead. Would have liked more of an authentic Italian atmosphere.
What a fantastic spot! The food was nothing like iv ever had before! Out of this world ! The vibe was on point, definitely ask if the lounge is available it’s a hidden gem. Corey I think his name is, he must be the manager or host but he checked on us between courses to make sure everything was perfect he even offered to get us taxi service. You don’t see that kind of attention in Boston restaurants.
Definitely will be back !
