   I came here for dine out Boston. I had a reservation but some people were taking longer than expected yet the hostess suggested we could grab a drink at the bar. We were given surprise cocktails 🤤. When our table came, it was perfect. We had good food, the earl gray manna cotta was perfection! And the staff were so generous!

   Cute restaurant, and we were seated by the window along the street which was very nice. It took a while to get our drinks, but they were very good. The eggplant appetizer was delicious, the calamari basket was good but under seasoned. The pesto oil served with the bread is absolutely delicious!! My husband got the risotto, it had great flavor but was al dente, undrcooked for our taste. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly, but again underseasoned. Needed salt and pepper. I had the chocolate tortino for dessert which I loved!! He had the Panna Cotta which he really liked too. Overall good experience and a good night.

   We went during Restaurant Week and ordered from that menu so the value was outstanding, and the food from start to finish was outstanding, as always. I have never had a better filet mignon! We went early so there were just a few other diners and the noise level was quiet. Assaggio never disappoints and is our favorite restaurant in the North End. We look forward to going again soon.

   The food was very tasty. But, the service was average based on the fact we needed to ask for almost everything, including menu questions which our server needed help answering, extra bread, ordering a glass of wine, some grated cheese for meal, dessert menu and the check. Would rate the noise level high. Our table was basically in the entry path of the first floor.

    Fabulous food as always. The grigliata is best in the north end. Huge selection of perfectly grilled fish- this is a must to try or share with appetizers. Filet was perfectly cooked with mashed and spinach. Followed by warm chocolate cake which was shared as we were stuffed. Don’t miss- beautiful ambience also

    Visited Assaggio for the third time. Definitely not one of the better restaurants in DePasqualis group. One bartender who couldn’t handle the crowd and I waited for 15 minutes while sitting at the bar for my first cocktail. The food was dry and not great. Had the veal milanease. Surprised Frank would allow a place to operate like this with no customer service.

    i can't believe it had such a high review. To paraphrase my partner, it feels like we are back in highschool or college days and can't find somewhere to eat. While some dishes where ok, for the expected quality/ambiance it was an incredible undervwelming experience. It felt like we are eating Italian dinner at a bar with Basketball on TV and doors open and employees going in the back for boxes and etc. every 5m.

    Food was above average not great. The dining experience as a whole was disappointing. Our table was in the basement area, which looks like, well, a basement. Tough place to eat. Zero ambience, linoleum walls, drafty. Doubly disappointing since we were celebrating a birthday dinner, noted as much on the reservation, yet no effort made from anyone on the staff to make the experience memorable. After asking the server, she was able to stick a candle in the tiramisu. So at least we had that. The positives were that the food was not bad, not great have had better, but above average and large portions. The server was nice, but never once saw the manager or anyone else to check on us, offer a post meal digestif, etc. Was expecting more. Heard there are over 200 Italian restaurants in the north end, my advice, skip this one and keep looking.

    Food was delish. The pesto was herby and great. Eggplant Parm was so good! Gnocci and Zucchini pasta were both excellent. We were sat in the downstairs. It was uncomfortably cold. When we asked for the heat to be turned up we were told that it wasn’t working. At some point someone set up a space heater but it too wasn’t giving off much heat. The table next to us also asked about heat. It was unfortunate that it was so cold it was hard to enjoy the meal and our food got cold quite quickly as well. We were also sitting close to the restroom and the noise from the hand dryer wasn’t great either. I’d go back but ask to be sat somewhere else. Food A+ but experience was C.

    Food was good but nothing spectacular. Good vibes but our waiter was awkward and rude and when our drinks took nearly 40 minutes to arrive said nothing. Would skip next time.

    Food was okay - not particularly special. We were seated in a basement that suffers from a lack of ambiance, to put it nicely. Service was slow and spotty. Not worth a return visit. Not up to North End standards or expectations.

    Service was good. the tables are close together and the party of 4 next to us were rather loud and it was difficult to keep a conversation going without disruption from the table next to us.

    Our party of six was seated upstairs next to bar in cramped sofas. Lousy disco-type, lounge music kept pumping into room. One waiter and busboy tended to entire room, including a huge party of 18 next to us and a group of twelve behind us. Menu was overpriced, food was average. And they had the audacity to add automatic 20% gratuity even though service was clearly lacking and untrained. It was disappointing as earlier visits were far more pleasant. If I go back for another try I would insist on main dining room or lower level. Upstairs was not cool at all.

    We went to have dinner before the comedy show. The food was outstanding, the eggplant app was delicious. The fish special had everything, calamari, sword fish, Lobster. It was huge and served on a wooden plank. Highly reocmmend.

    Overall the food was good. The pizza appetizer was not good at all. We ordered fried calamari but got fritto misto. It was good. The pasta was good. But maybe it’s the hype, I was expecting amazing food for it being in the north end. I would eat there again but would not go out of my way to eat there again.

    Food was delicious, reservation was right on time but we were seated downstairs right next to the service room where ice machine and servers went for clean plates etc and it was extremely noisy with ice being scooped into plastic buckets and dishes clanging and being dumped in to containers…. there is a curtain there that i belleve is meant to be closed so we won’t see the commotion but the noise would still be an issue. Would eat at the restaurant again but not if we had to be seated downstairs. Kind of ruins dinner when the crash and banging is going on. Again food was wonderful but noise was bad.
