Assaggio Bistro - Kahala
Only the finest, freshest ingredients go into our richly flavored and award winning cuisine. Each delectable dish is prepared individually just before it is served, and not a moment sooner.
with homemade caesar dressing and topped with croutons and parmesan cheese.
Though all Assagio's are great restaurants, I rate the Assagio Bistro in Kahala as the best in service, food quality, and ambiance. The food is always great. Huge portions and one of the few restaurants offering smaller portions on nearly all menu options. Even the small portions are large. Service always great, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. Ambiance beautiful and relaxing. A great place to enjoy a relaxing dinner.
We are regulars. All good
Great food and ambiance
We had a 5 pm reservation. Great time to go as more people come at 5:30 -6 pm. Lots of choices such as our favorite fried calamari legs. Wait staff all help each other out. Great dining experience.
We are enjoying the dining. The staff is very friendly and professional.
Great attentive service. Classy ambiance. Delicious food, die hard fan of the table side caeser salad. Throughly enjoyable evening.
Mahalo for the experience!
Excellent food and atmosphere.
Great food and exceptional service. We go there for business lunches and find it quite enough to talk yet private enough to discuss clients finances.
Always top notch! Can’t complain! Ambiance, food quality, and friendly staff, makes a perfect family night!
Wonderful service, food, and Valet.
The foods and services were great, parking is limited, we parked on the street.
The food and the service was excellent. It has been awhile since I ate at this particular location and it did not disappoint.
It was my smallest portion of a meal that I have ever received from this restaurant. Possibly because it was a Holiday (Valentines day)
Decent food for price. Not enough parking & inly 1 valet. We were unimpressed overall and don't plan to return.
Good and friendly service. Location is nearby. Will go again.
Reasonable good Italian food
Stopped in before a play at Diamond Head Theatre.
Consistent food and great service in the bar!
Linguini is thinner than usual, nearly like spaghetti, and seemed rather flavorless and not chewy enough; clams obviously from can & a bit gritty. Others in our 4-some thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
The food and service we had were both wonderful. However, we asked a "busboy" for take out containers to save the food we had not eaten. We thought he would let our server take care of it, but instead he took the plates away.
When we got home, we found that considerable portions of the food we had left were not in the containers. My wife called the manager to let him know what had happened, and instead of apologizing, he said: "How do I know you aren't lying to me? Are you trying to get something from me?"
In our opinion, this is never a way to treat a customer. We honestly thought we were doing them a favor, but obviously he was way too aggressive in his response. I really don't know if we will go back there.
Service and food awesome, and quite frankly, better than the Assaggio’s in Hawaii Kai. For example, we often had to ask for more wine sauce since the noodles would be dry. But at Kahala, it’s been perfect. Had dinner there twice this week! Although we live in Hawaii Kai, this is our new “go-to” restaurant!
When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating 2 birthdays. There was no mention or acknowledgement of the birthdays at all. We ordered our food and only half of the food arrived so we waited awhile for the rest of the food to begin eating. The waiter was not very attentive and the appetizers were not very good. The entrees were delicious and I would definitely order takeout next time since the dining in experience and service is lacking.
Very nice waiters and they even gave cake for the birthday people :)
Anniversary was not acknowledged but the food and service was still fine. Just would’ve been nice to be acknowledged
Poor food .. Asian owners clearly don’t know how to cook Italian . Pretty venue but less than satisfactory cuisine!
The food is consistent. The restaurant looks a bit rundown. Always very crowded and full which is a good sign that customers enjoy this restaurant. Good value for the money spent. Best to make reservations on OpenTable, or calling the restaurant directly.
Food was was good except the plantation iced tea tasted water down. Disappointing since this iced tea you cannot get a refill.
Came in for a New Year’s eve dinner and right off the bat, the service was rude. We came in 5 minutes early for a reservation, and the staff was very persistent on telling us to wait until our set time. Not only did he not wish a a Happy New Year, but he kept say “table not ready” (2x) harshly. We were, however, taken promptly taken back to the table at 7:30, but there was food on the wall (photo enclosed). The food....is another story. The tossed salad is a hodgepodge of ingredients, The Seafood Special with white sauce was terrible, the pesto pasta was bland and over seasoned with white wine. Most of the seafood on the plate was a mysterious white substance that had no flavor, which is awfully concerning. The only thing that was good was the dry mozzarella sticks with a bland tomatoes sauce, and I’ve had better at bowling allies. After all that, the wine wasn’t even that good. For a restaurant off the beaten path that seems upscale compared to most, this was a disappointing experience that doesn’t deserve 4 stars.
I always order the same thing - chicken anchovy olio with vegetables - and it is always amazing!
It was super surprising that the fish in the fish salad did not taste good. I thought it was inedible but my guest ate most of it anyway. First time that’s ever happened. :(
Chicken piccata was great portion sized. Small or large both will fill you up. Chicken Assaggio was good but would have enjoyed a bit of Marinara on it. Overall great meal and exactly what my parents needed on their last night in Hawaii.
Due to the holidays, it was the eve of the eve, it was quite busy. Wait staff was as courteous as could be expected with the restaurant being so busy. Food was decent and restaurant is pleasant.
We had our company Christmas lunch at Assaggio Bistro - Kahala the other day and the experience was exceptional! The service was top quality and the food was sooo good! The prices are very reasonable and food portions were very hearty. Absolutely recommended and will be returning soon!
Great atmosphere, fabulous and knowledgeable waiter, delicious food and libations.
The staff was very attentive and polite. Very good service but the main course took awhile to come out because according to the waiter, they got swamped.
Assaggio Bistro-Kahala has come to be our "go to" restaurant when we'd like to go somewhere nice without spending a fortune. It is moderately priced and the food is always very good to excellent.
Dining at Assaggio is always a great experience.
Food was great and the service is always excellent! Always love to visit!
The food was cold. The sausage for the pasta was microwaved and cold, the escargot was cold. I had asked for a sizzling plate for the steak which the server said ok not a problem, when meal delivered they didn’t bring the plate I asked for it again and got a regular plate when the server came around to check on us I asked him again about the sizzling plate and that’s when he decides to tell me they don’t have it. Why wouldn’t you say that from the beginning.
The best restaurant indeed. It was great to have Cesar salad made at the table. So many restaurants don’t offer that anymore.
