The plant based menu was not familiar to the waitress, so could not let me know what the ingredients were for the bolognaise in the gnocchi. I don’t eat fake meat and was worried what it may contain. The website said it was with pumpkin sauce and pine nuts which I was really looking forward to. No longer available. The risotto lacked plate appeal and was ok but not something I would want to order again. I didn’t like the polenta fries either. My friend ordered from the main menu and really enjoyed her entree and main. I was very excited to be attending and had booked the restaurant based on the plant based menu. I was disappointed and don’t think I will risk it again.

First time there, great atmosphere. Relaxing place to dine. Food was amazing. Wine selection is superb. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Will go back. Lost two stars on the service because of the sneaky tactics during paying the bill. The Eftpos machine automatically adds a 10% tip on top of the cost of the bill. You have to manually select NO otherwise you will get stung. Very sneaky and a little deceitful of them. No need for it. Otherwise 5 out of 5.

The food was delightful but the service was not Our meal was forgotten and not offered anything while we waited and I said it was for a birthday and it wasn’t acknowledged.

We took some friends to Assiggini for dinner. The four of us had a beautiful meal at a good size table so we were not cramped but able to easily talk to each other. The smoked olives were excellent as a starter followed by the best calamari we have had. The four of us had the fettuccine marinara and it was beautiful with just the right amount of spices. We had the house red which was excellent and at a reasonable price. The service was great with just the right amount of personal touch. A really great night all round. Thoroughly recommend

It was our second time at Assagini, and there won't be a third. First time, we had to wait for over an hour as they had forgotten about our order. The food, however, was great. Regretfully, the menu has changed for the worse, as well as the restaurant layout. It resembles a school canteen; you're so close to the other tables that it is impossible to have a relaxing conversation. Mind you, we requested a more private spot when booking. Fine, we chose the food... But it never came. People who arrived 20 minutes later than us got their order while we were still waiting. 40 minutes in, we were approached by a staff member who said that they were trying to track our order. As it was our date night and a rare opportunity to spend a quiet time together, we got very upset and chose to leave. The restaurant kindly did not charge us for the two drinks we had, but that didn't really make any difference.
