   Asheville Proper is an excellent location if you want a high quality steak. Be aware that all items are ala carte so be prepared to pay. This was a special treat that we enjoyed immensely!

   The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer and the bread that came with it was burnt. I asked the waiter if it was supposed to be served that way and he said yes rather than offering to get us a replacement. Not sure why, but other than that everything else tasted great.

   Everything was phenomenal. The petite steaks were delicious and not over priced. The sides were amazing. We had the roasted beets, woodfired cabbage, Porchetta, and fingerling potatoes. Everything was perfect cocktails were also good we had Manhattan’s and old fashions.

   Great smoky food and very creative! The one thing which made me decide to give 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that every dish needed to have some sweet component. I may not be the biggest sweet fan whereas others may be; however, I do think there should be some meals which are just savory on the menu.

   The spinach salad was delicious. I loved the slices of pear. I had the ribeye medium, and it was not only super flavorful but also cooked to perfection; just the way I like it. The coconut cake summed up the meal and was out of this world. Asheville Proper is consistently good. Nate, Eric, and Drew are also consistently good at their jobs and are a big reason why we love to come to AP with friends and family.

   Enjoyed our first visit. Wife opted for a steak with the bone marrow starter. I opted for the romaine salad, goulash, and confit potatoes. Coconut cake was a unique presentation. Everything was very tasty. Service was great. On the downside, it is an expensive menu. We will return.

    My husband & I celebrated his birthday with the chef’s tasting menu with eight courses. We were delighted with every dish, and the food was delicious. The service was impressive. I definitely recommend a visit to Asheville Proper.

    Food was good with good atmosphere. Pricing was a little elevated and while it’s normal for a large markup on wine, they were excessive on their wine markup. Our waitress, Emily, was excellent.

    Ribeye steak was good but not exceptional. They need to replace their steak knives which are not helpful. The prices are expensive even requiring you to purchase a piece of bread is you desire one.

    My dish, the Goulash, tasted good but was lukewarm when served, a major issue for me personally. My wife's lentil dish was a tad salty for her but then she isn't a big salt person. Our waiter was pleasant though didn't specifically ask if we were interested in coffee or dessert after dinner until we asked what was available. Having eaten at many upper end restaurants (and not so upper end) this is a expected formallity for me. A courtesy really to have a complete dining experience. As long as you ask about our experience I was a little surprised at the condition of the men's bathroom. Not great. If I had it do to again I would have chosen one of the steaks which is their specialty.

    It’s a splurge on flavor! The Cowboy Ribeye was so tender and the crust seasoned to perfection. The mushrooms in the wine sauce were scrumptious and paired beautifully with my Cosmo Highball. The service was also on point and it’s a lovely place to enjoy a special meal.

    We went for my boyfriends birthday and had the most lovely and memorable dinner. While they were getting our table ready we ordered a drink at the bar and the bartender was lovely. The drinks were some of the best we’ve ever had, so delicious. We ordered the walnut manhattan and the lions mane (I think that was the name?). When our table was ready we were so delighted to get a nice big cozy booth and a birthday card signed by the staff, which was such a nice and sweet gesture! Service was fantastic even though they all looked so busy, as I’m sure like everywhere they’re on a skeleton crew. But everything came out beautifully and in good time. The food was beyond delicious, he had the Waygu and I had the dry aged duck breast. The food was next level delicious, everything was so good. Next time we’d skip the goulash, however. It wasn’t terrible, but there was so much cumin added it tasted like a chili, maybe we got the wrong dish? Other than that all the other dishes and sides were so good! Bravo!

    Service was great, space looks amazing but the food was just....ok. I got the aged NY Strip, my partner got the ribeye and both were unremarkable. I doubt we will be back, there are better places in town.

    Loved, loved, loved the food and service! The space was extremely noisy though - which made it very difficult to have easy conversation. Would still highly recommend because the food and service were so good, but I wish the noise level of the dining experience could have been a back note instead of being so dominant. Energetic and straight out noisy aren't the same thing, especially with a price point of fine dining. The noise level bordered on uncomfortable, which is unfortunate because this was all the prevented the experience from being 5-stars across the board.

    Our waiter was excellent, the beer selection was lacking but they had a great wine list. The gnochi and bone marrow were delicious. We really enjoyed the tri-tip but the dry aged ribeye was so thin it had no chance of being medium rare, ended up being medium to medium well in some parts. Parker house rolls and fingerling potatoes were delicious as well. Overall had a very enjoyable meal, the ribeye was a disappointment for the price-point. Would have preferred to pay more for a thicker steak that could be properly cooked.

    One steak was ovrecooked and the other was undercooked. Brussel sprouts and beets were very good! We felt rushed by the server who had just argued with another server.
