WOW , we just had an amazing meal here tonight.
First off, we were greeted right away with a smile and a very warm welcome. We were very fortunate to have a fabulous server. She was full of awesome knowledge of the menu & how the food was/is prepared.
The pomegranate pistachio meatball is a delicious start to a fantastic meal. I had the dry age ribeye steaksteak it was cooked to perfection. I’ve only once before had a steak that melted in my mouth. Kudos to the chef. Also the garlic sautéed spinach was a perfectly cooked with just the right amount of garlic .
This is definitely a peninsula Gem. Quite possibly the best restaurant in Redwood City. Definitely have quite a bit of hidden talent hear.
Thank You For A Fantastic Meal...
Very nice ambiance. Attentive service. I have never been to Redwood City but after researching a good steakhouse this one caught my attention most. Glad I went there. Lots of food for the price and unique combination with Middle Eastern flare of dishes and spices.
Quiet environment and good service. Food service was prompt and the food tasty.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends at this special restaurant. Jennifer was our waitress and she gave us the very best service and was helpful in recommending different dishes. Very wide variety of food selections. We ordered steaks which were perfectly done. We will be back.
I was really disappointed with the dining experience Arya. The rib-eye that I ordered was tasty, but small gnat like bugs kept emerging from underneath the board that the steak was served on throughout my meal. I literally smashed 5 or 6 bugs during my dining experience.
The truffle fries were soaked in oil. Also, my steak-knife in addition to my friend's steak-knife was dull.
While our waiter was friendly, he was not attentive at all and essentially disappeared until I asked another server for our check.
Side note, the dining booths are incredibly tight and not very comfortable.
We are fond of this restaurant but don't frequent as much since the menu has changed
The food was wonderful and the service was impeccable.
The food was excellent and service impeccable. I would go back again.
The staff was very friendly and made our special occasion a night to remember. The menu had a good variety and the food was delicious.
Our dinner at Arya was okay. It did not stand out as an amazing experience nor was it terrible. We arrived ten minutes before our reservation and was seated immediately. The staff attendance was fantastic. Sadly the Wagyu wasn't available but I settled for the Bone In NY while my wife ordered the Dry Age Ribeye. Both were amazing (note: most places overcook their steaks a bit no matter what you order. When you order rare here, it really is rare). The roasted garlic? Superb. The Truffle Fries could use a little more truffle, but that's more personal preference. The cocktails were mediocre, but that was alright.
All in all, the dinner was alright. I went there for my birthday dinner, which I had jotted down when I made a reservation. Sad to say, no one brought it up or made the night a little more memorable. That was acceptable. It was definitely not expected nor is the restaurant required to do so.
I probably would have left the restaurant with a 4/5 as the food was amazing and the staff ensured we were taken care of (I didn't rate it 5/5 because it just didn't feel like an amazing experience). However, I would have to say this was a 2/5 night because when we were done with our meal, both of us had half a steak left, my wife had half of her baked potato remaining, and my fries were practically untouched. I also ordered their Herb Butter for an extra $2 on the side. Needless to say, we requested this packed up to go. I also specifically requested that the Herb Butter was packed up (I mean, I did pay $2 for it...). When it came back, however, the Herb Butter wasn't there. Since it was so small, I didn't bother asking and left. When we got home, however, I noticed that my fries were not in the bag! I barely ate any of the fries because the steaks and appetizers were so filling, but I still wanted the fries. If I had still been at the restaurant, I definitely would've asked for this. I'm not sure if the waiter just didn't hear me, wasn't sure, or it was negligence.
We had a wondeful (adult only- left the kids home with a sitter) dinner the other night. Food was great, ambiance was wonderful and service was excellent!
Wish they had a full bar
What a gem. Great menu with a fantastic selection of steaks -- but lot's of other Mediterranean dishes on the menu as well. The steaks were excellent, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The chicken skewers were amazing and the serving size very large. All of our appetizers were great as well. The service was friendly, welcoming, and highly attentive despite the restaurant being full at the time. I would highly recommend Arya Steakhouse.
Had humus and calamari for appetiser.
Humus was good, skip the calamari.
Had Cowboy ribeye Steak with sides of sweet potato, mushrooms and Mac and cheese for main course between 3 of us.
Steak was very good.
Sweet potato fries were also good. Mac and cheese not so great. Mushrooms were ok.
Waiter was very attentive and engaging. Water filler was a little over-zealous. But shouldn’t complain about too much attention.
We did it all, apps, salads, steaks and desserts. Really good service. What ever we asked for it was there. It was my third time having dinner at Arya and I love it. We’ll be back very soon.
The steak is always good. The food is consistent with fast service.
We had a good meal and our waiter was fantastic.
Steaks and sides were very good. Service was attentive and prompt. Prices are high but not untypical for steakhouses in this area. Decor is good. Drawbacks are lack of a full bar since I feel a steakhouse should have one, especially Martinis, which a full steakhouse should provide. Salad menu was quite limited - no Caesar salad which I feel is also a steakhouse essential. It seemed as if the steak menu was added to the Middle Eastern concept and not fully implemented. Will return on special occasions.
It was a truly a bad experience, they served us a different meal than the one we ordered, when I asked why it is not the one we ordered, they said because " they ran out of kababs" how can a steak house ran out of beef at 7pm on a Friday? . That is almost like a joke.
I would never go there again NEVER!
Restaurant was out of everything. Seems like every item we asked for they didn’t have. Table next to us was having the same issue. We all laughed about it. over priced and we had to be our own servers pretty much. Anytime anything was needed we had to hunt down the waiters. We waited over 30mins for the check, ended up going to the front and the waiter didn’t even remember we had asked for our check. Even though table was cleared. Extremely disappointing.
Save your money and your taste buds. Arya, is a poor choice in a downtown filled with great choices. I had the lamb shank which quite bland, small and greasy. A real crime for a Persian kitchen! Maybe I should have gotten the steak since it is a steak house, but wow was it over priced.
The server took our order and ignored us until we asked for the check. The other servers were in rush to remove plates even when we still had plenty of food on our plates.
I really wanted to like the place, but no dice. Never again!!!
The rib eye steak served wasn't a rib eye IMO - I've had a lot of rib eye and this one tasted off - a cheap cut of something. Wine was expensive ($12 for Gloria Ferrer champagne - buy a bottle for $12 at Costco so 300% markup). Sashimi (and seemingly most things) served in a gamey brown sauce. Oysters Rockefeller was simple but good. Booth seats have you sitting too erect (like back cushions were stapled to plywood) . . . a bit uncomfortable. All in all, it was a one and done dining experience. We noted in our reservation it was our anniversary - no mention of it was referenced.
I have been to Arya on many occasions and really enjoyed the food & restaurant. Yesterday's experience was sub-par. We waiting 40 minutes for our meals. I asked for a "rare" filet and received "well done". I could see the butter on the fillet, but I had to season it myself.
Great presentation, but sub-par food and service.
My guest had said this was the same experience they had previously.
I would not recommend this restaurant any more.
Great food and service, especially Baghali polo with lamb shank.
We had a birthday party with 10 ppl. The waitress was trying hard to please us. Though at times it was too much and she would talk a bit too much. My steak and my friend’s steak were raw. My cowboy steak was super hard to chew. I was extremely disappointed with what we got for what we paid, and it was a lot.
Ask for Jennifer - she is smart, enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the offerings, cheerful, and a delight to have been served by. Food was superb and her service enhanced the experience multifold.
Definitely a hidden gem. There are many trendy restaurants that surround Ayra, however Arya superseeds them in Quality and price. A great place to try if you haven't.
Wow! What a great night out. It was my second time there and I’m still impressed. My servers Steve then Maria were excellent. Great job on recommendations. What a Filet, Cooked perfect.
The one disadvantage of this restaurant was that there was a lot of road work being done so that meant a lot of detours. However, once one parks in the garage or public parking lot nearby, one can enjoy a nice meal. We were celebrating our birthdays. We got a birthday cake. So yummy. Also the kebob was great but the greatest thing was the mushroom soup. It was to die for. The best I have ever had.
Room to improve for services if tips is required for big party.
Service was great; attentive and fast. Much more than steak -- I had a great chicken kabob with rice.
We love this place. Steaks are great. Or you can choose from the Persian menu. Lamb kabob is very tasty. Convenient location with Box parking almost next door
From the start we had friendly staff, from hostess to waitress, that made our Mother’s Day brunch amazing. The food was great, and plentiful, and our mimosas were never empty.
Persian kabobs and lamb shank were amazing.
Exceptional food and fantastic service. Definitely will get that chocolate dessert they pour hot cream over again! Anniversary to remember.
Service was amazing and food was delicious. Came here for anniversary. Will definitely return.
Fantastic steaks and food and great service. Only points off for no full bar! Otherwise we’ll absolutely be back!
Great combination of steakhouse and Persian cuisine. Everything we ordered was excellent, and the service was as well.
I like ethnic restaurants that have native speaking service staff. the entire restaurant are Americans. Nothing wrong with that. But when you couple that with the decor which is sub par, it feels very out of place. You just don't feel like you are in a Persian restaurant. the only thing that is good about this place is their beef dishes. they brought us cold rice crust and lukewarm tea; both of which we had to ask for a redo. This is a so so place. May be good for a family with lots of kids.
Waiter was excellent. Prompt, friendly, helpful! Would definitely return!
