Two corn tortillas rolled with lump crab meat and cheese, topped with mozzarella cheese and a creamy lobster sauce
8oz. filet of grilled fresh red snapper served on sizzling skillet with grilled onions, peppers, and tomato and accompanied by fresh flour tortillas, Mexican rice and refried beans
Spinach or homemade corn tortillas with blackened tilapia, avocado, cabbage, cheeses and pickled jalapeño aioli sauce, served with gallo pinto and pico de gallo
Always a base hit, though rarely a home run. Reliable. Everything is always good. Just not extraordinary. A safe choice, every time. Exceptional staff and service. An institution among Houston restaurant options.
I ordered tacos Al carbon but were bland…had little flavor/seasoning.
Chips and green salsa were very good. Mild red salsa too mild. Spicy red salsa too spicy. Beans were great. Overall, Was disappointed on my entree for a high end restaurant.
Enjoyed warm ambiance and service.
The best mexican food in town. Whenever my kids come into town, Its their first stop for their Tex-mex fix
Really disappointed in Armando’s. First, they served me cold tortilla soup which had to be taken back. Next, the wedge salad had way too many onions, no blue cheese crumbles, and the dressing was tasteless. My Pinot Grigio at $14 a glass tasted like water. The waiter, attentive at first, forgot we ordered more drinks and we waited a long time for them. As it got busier we didn’t see him for long periods. The person who brought the salsa to our table actually had his thumb in the salsa! A manager did come over to see how we were doing but I did not want to cause drama at the time (I now wish I had been honest). The noise level as the night went on was so high my ears were ringing when we got in the car. We could not hear each other talk at all. We just wanted to get out of there. I have been to Armando’s many times before and have never experienced anything like I did last night. We will not be going back anytime soon. So very, very sad to cross this restaurant off my list.
This is the best Mexican food in Houston bar none, consistently delicious and beautiful presentation, the chips are so good, the food is amazing...we ate so much and drank amazing margarita's...I can't wait to go back...the atmosphere is truly special, a special restaurant in a perfect location!
We love everything about Armandos. It’s a hopping place so if you prefer quiet go when the early birds dine.
I had passed by Armandos for about as long as I can remember but never took the opportunity to visit. My bad. My date not only suggested it, but also suggested the sausage queso (cant recall the actual Spanish name) wraps. My goodness they were delicious. Nice crowd too and the place really filled up. This place is now on my short list of places to frequent. Nicely done.
It was great I loved how the owner came and spoke to everyone there and was even walking around getting chips/salsa to tables. I would love to come back again.
When the place turns into more of a disco at 10:00 the crowds get so packed you can’t move. To the point it’s dangerous as there’s no open isles. A fire would end in disaster
Excellent food and dining experience.
Great night out!
The restaurant looks nice and upscale inside, which sets it apart from a lot of Mex/Tex-Mex restaurants in town. House margarita is above average. Salsa is below average. The food is just okay; food-wise you'll do better at one of the three other iconic Tex-Mex places within a quarter-mile.
This restaurant is the best Mexican restaurant in all of Houston and surrounding areas! Top shelf all the way around! We had Queso Flamedo appetizer and Lulus for dinner!
A must for Mexican Food
DJ is terrible now. What happened to the old one? It was best to start with the 70s 80s 90s and the current.
Great food and excellent Skinny Margaritas!!!
Great time eating there and it looked so beautiful.
Excellent food, great service
Awesome food and drink. Great service
We really enjoyed a last minute dinner at Armando’s!
I usually don’t like to leave negative comments so I apologize I’m advance,
Restaurant is nice and service was good . However,
Food wasn’t that great , perhaps overpriced for the quality
…..Noise was unbearable. …. And I mean it .
I’m so disappointed I don’t think I want to visit this place again.
We just wanted to pay and get the hell out as quickly as possible
This is defiantly not an ambiance for a business dinner or a date night with your girlfriend/wife/husband /boyfriend.
The mandatory $5 valet parking is silly. Why not do like most and have complimentary valet and allow customers to tip which I always do. I ended up parking myself and paid the $5 bucks to avoid conflict, and management was very gracious and apologetic - I would prefer to sell park when I can .
We always love our experience at Armandos.
Armando's is a Houston establishment. Jaime the GM runs a great team, which puts out amazing food and drinks. The Carne Asada Steak was tender, juicy, and extremely flavorful and the cocktails took the edge off of a long week. Money well spent and I'm looking forward to going back, again, and again, and again!
The restaurant itself was nice, the food over priced for the quality and the flavor, the wait staff were very attentive, the restaurant was so load that my friend and I were howling to have a conversation. I have absolutely no interest in going back! It was highly recommend but did live up to the recommendations.
Armandos has the best service in town. No one does it quite like them. Good food, good location...what's not to like!
Good food and spotty service. Good scored and bar scene.
Great food and the best margs anywhere. Thursday night is a blast.
Food is fabulous and the service is too!!! You never fail to serve up the beat !!! Thank you
Good food, generous drinks.
Had a blast as always
Food always excellent, staff always great, and good atmosphere
It was absolutely delicious as usual and I made a note for a quieter table as I was bringing someone who didn’t want to be in a crowded room and they gave us the perfect table in a side room. Perfect meal and service! ❤️
Great food terrific service
Dinner with friends
Great food, even better margaritas! Rally enjoyed the restaurant.
Armandos never fails to impress out of town guests. Jaime made our friends evacuated from New Orleans feel like honored guests and is always connecting with the restaurant patrons.
Great food and service, poor rating on coctails
Overall the main course food was good ( a little too salty for my taste), but the salsa served with the chips was very bland. It was a very busy night so my waiter forgot to give us menus and it took awhile to order food. Once ordered, the food took awhile to come out.
Need to hire more help. Server was very good but too busy to be attentive. We love your place and will be back.
Discovered them via Houston Restaurant Week 2021. Really enjoyed our evening and will definitely return.
