This is a high-class Mexican restaurant offering dishes that are slightly different from those you would normally get in a typical Mexican restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent. Even the chips and salsa are special. The only negative is that the restaurant is quite noisy.

The food was delicious. What we noticed once we got the bill is they charged us $8 ( we had two drinks each) for ranch water which our server said was used to help make our drinks. We’d never heard of that. And also their pastel de tres leches was dry. We told our waiter that and he was surprised and asked me where I like it from so I told him, Fogo de Chao. Overall it was a nice experience, not sure I’d go back.

I was able to investigate your itemized receipt and it looks like you were enjoying Amaretto sours--so your bartender charged you for the shot of amaretto used for the drink and $2 additional for the remaining ingredients used to complete the cocktail. I am so sorry that was confusing on your check and I will talk to our service team about making that distinction more clear for guests. I completely understand why that might be unclear. I am also going to investigate the Tres Leches with our pastry team. I hope you will be back to give us another try and again I am so grateful for your feedback!

We love Armando’s. It’s a little nicer than other Mexican restaurants so you can go on a date or make it a family dinner. The service was great and we really enjoyed the grilled snapper and tortilla soup.

Good food, not worth the expense. Save some dollars and go next door to Chuys. We were hoping for an upscale dining experience to celebrate Mother's day and a couple birthdays, but the service was only average and the food was good but not spectacular for the price. I am someone willing to pay for quality. This was not it. Salsa was basically one step above tomato juice. We had to ask for menus when the waiter came to take our order. They brought queso on the house cuz they realized they had been ignoring us, which was nice but the meal was still only average. Never received extra rice and beans and had to ask to have it taken off the bill. Cocktails were good but too expensive for average. Sopapillas were almost like puffed tortilla chips. Disappointing. I can get the same food or better for a lot less at 90% of the Mexican food restaurants in Houston. Was not impressed.

Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year for the restaurant industry and while we don't like it when it happens, as humans we do make mistakes. We have had great experiences in the past at Armando's. That's why my wife asked to go there for Mother's Day with all of our grown kids. The restaurant was very loud and they had squeezed in as many tables as possible which almost made it hard to get up and go to the restroom. It took a very long time for the waiter to come to our table, and throughout the 2.5 hour lunch we had, it took close to 20 minutes on average before someone would check on us, fill our waters, replace our drinks or bring our food. The food was tepid and by the time we got it, we almost weren't hungry any more. So, almost $400 in lunch, that took way too long, was too hard to hear each other at the table, etc. Very atypical experience for us at Armando's. Will have to think about whether or not we go back again.

For spending $100 plus dollars on Crab enchiladas It’s was ok, lack of seasoning on the rice and was a little hard.
