Excellent dining choice! AG has been on my list for quite sometime and after searching for restaurants to dine at on Thanksgiving, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were open. I have only been to P6 and loved the atmosphere and my feelings did not waiver towards AG. I love the decor, the paper maiche ceiling, the cozy bar atmosphere and I especially loved the bathroom! I will not give it away, but plan a 10 minute bathroom break to check out the "scenery".
As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by the lovely and attentive Nadia who provided us with excellent suggestions. For drinks, I enjoyed the garden margarita and the sundown cobbler. Both are very different flavors but because they were spaced out and consumed with different bites, I was still able to savor the flavors of both drinks. For starters we chose the burrata that was simply delicious and the spiced candied pecans added a perfect touch. We ordered the fried steam buns and were expecting a version of bao buns, but this dish is not what you would expect. It was truly unique and we devoured every bite. The crispy rice was another fabulous choice. We wanted to make room for dessert so we shared the brown butter roasted halibut that was cooked to perfection. Dessert consisted of the apple tart and it was good, not great. It would have been better if it had been accompanied by more cream or ice cream would have also been nice.
I heard of the Yurts last winter and tried to book one for NYE, but alas, they are already gone. My suggestion is to book as soon as they become available.
I am confused by the negative reviews, but I am very happy to say that our experience was memorable and we will be back.

It was a great experience from start to finish. We spent our 5th Anniversary at Arlo Grey and we have no regrets. Thank you Kristen. You were our favorite Top Chef. Glad my wife got to get a signed book from you. She loves it!

An amazing dining experience! The food was beyond and our server was one of the best servers I’ve ever experienced. They found out my boyfriend and I were celebrating a big move and new jobs, and made it such a special experience. What a warm welcome to our new city, and we will be back!

We are big Top Chef fans and decided to eat at Arlo Grey for our anniversary. It was one of the best meals of our lives. Our server Bran was phenomenal and gave us great recommendations. The mafaldine pasta is amazing. Ambience is lovely-lots of plants, a fun view, and good people watching.

We felt hurried by our waiter. We wanted a relaxing dining experience for our special occasion. Our $80 wagyu ribeye came out long before we had a chance to order red wine to go with it, and it came with another dish instead of as a main course, so it was cold by the time we cut into it.

The waiter was so flamboyantly expressive with his elected speaking style that he was difficult to understand. He loved telling us what his favorites were and how he liked them instead of asking us what we like and recommending based on that. Or maybe I’m old and that’s just the new style of service these days.

The food was fabulous, but this is probably not the place to come if you’re looking to relax and enjoy.

FRIED! STEAMED! BUNS! The buns themselves are absolutely delicious, but the "egg dip" is where it's at.

I cannot rave about our experience enough. It was a very special celebration for myself and a girlfriend, and not only was the food to die for, the staff was EXCELLENT. Nadia is hands down the best and most attentive server I have ever encountered. She along with her entire team made sure that what was meant to be a personal and momentous occasion was that and then some. I'm still floating on cloud nine and dreaming about the crispy rice and black forrest cake. It was absolute perfection and I will carry the experience with me for life. <3

I had high hopes for this place after seeing the chef crush the competition on Top Chef, but honestly, the food here was kind of blah. I really just didn’t enjoy any of the dishes we ordered. They were edible, but I have no desire to go eat at Arlo Grey again.

The atmosphere was so dark we could not see the food. The prices were well above expectations for the food portions. I would not recommend this establishment.

The only thing good about this restaurant is the location and the look/ambience. Our food and plating was just average. I had the roasted Halibut for $27 the fish was cooked correctly but the plate didn’t wow me considering the restaurant is a Top Chef winner. My wife had the Crispy Rice $19 again no wow factor. Our son had a chicken plate for $34 he said he liked it.

The problem we had was our server Bran, he was a nice person, but he over charge us $20 on our bottle of wine at dinner. They have a standard automatic 19% service charge, which I don’t like for any restaurants to do. I found the error the next day. At 5pm when the place opened, I called the restaurant directly. The hostess told me to take a photo of my receipt and email it to Gwenth Burgos in accounting. 3-days went by over a weekend nothing happened. I then found the restaurant didn’t open again till Wednesday, so I tried calling the hotel directly Monday. I got lost in their answering service loop getting no live person only voice mail ends. After a couple times of trying to get someone to help me, I finally got the front desk, they then said they didn’t have anyone named Gwenth Burgos in accounting. Frustrated and getting no-were, I ended the call. After 20-mins, I called again, using reservations to a live person who forward me again to the front desk. I got a new person and they helped me in finding Brett Anderson the FD Manager for the hotel and restaurant’s. Brett was very professional and did a great job helping me. Today, (5-days later) I found accounting did give me back a credit for the $20 wine cost over charge, plus TX sales tax, but they didn’t give me any credit for the added 19% service charge on the $20.

So for a average meal/dinner with family our server (Bran) got a 22% tip. After 1-week, a couple emails and many calls. This is why I’m giving the restaurant a bad review. I’d be very careful going to this restaurant it’s not worth it.

Food was amazing but unfortunately the service was not up to par. Our reservation was at 9:00 but we got there around 9:15, got our drinks around 9:45 and were later told after ordering a few plates that the kitchen closed at 10. They were nice enough to make us a few additional dishes when we spoke to the manager but communication was poor and we saw our server maybe once every 15 mins. We had to ask for water glasses to be refilled two or three times.

This was our second time dining at Arlo Grey. The food was exceptional and creative! The AG Grilled Sourdough Bread and Fried Steamed Buns were our favorites of the evening! Unfortunately, the service was still lacking as was our issue the first time we dined at this establishment. There were long periods of waiting between ordering and service between courses. Our server was nice enough, but it always seemed like we were a chore or burden to them. Our server did not seem to mind helping the table behind us or in front of us as I could often here them engaging in conversation. When it was our turn it was simply what can I get you, more tea, and so on. The food runner engaged with us way more and in my opinion should have received the tip. Lastly, while I know it was our fault for not reading the receipt, we were not told that a 19% tip was automatically added and we added a tip on top of that, which in my opinion was definitely not earned nor deserved. Even after collecting our tickets, the server chose to not say anything. As a hospitality professional, I feel the server should’ve taken it upon themselves to bring our oversight to our attention as a courtesy.

We love this place, came in to stay at The Line for mine & my husband's birthday weekend. We had the Halibut and the Malfaldini, both excellent and so much divine flavor! We also had the Orange Creamsicle and the AG Black Forrest Cake, I can't decide which was my favorite. Also for drinks, the margarita was on point - not too sweet and just spicy enough. Service was amazing, ask for Bran if you visit, he is such a gem.

How refreshing to have high-end, foodie worthy, dining in a hotel. And, not be over priced. I booked the reservation, because I recognized the chef's name, I didn't realize it was hotel dining or I would have skipped it. Thankfully, for a new discovery in Austin!
